• No big balloon drop for Obama at DNC

    Everyone will be forced to use their imaginations.

    As the self-appointed Last Word Balloon correspondent (and self-appointed job title creator) — I have URGENT news concerning tomorrow's balloon-drop at the Democratic National Convention: IT WILL NOT HAPPEN!

    Due to forecasted thunderstorms, President Obama's Thursday night address was moved from the Bank of America Stadium to the Time Warner Cable Arena. Because of the last minute change, there won't be enough time to execute a proper balloon drop.

    While we mourn the loss of the 2012 DNC balloon drop — I do have one question — what will happen with all the balloons hanging out in the rafters of the Bank of America Stadium?
