After appearing on The Last Word Wednesday night, author and comedian John Hodgman joined Lawrence O'Donnell to talk more about the upcoming vice presidential debate and his new book, That Is All.
Hodgman had one piece of advice for Joe Biden he didn't have time to mention on the show: "Since no one will get punished for saying a lie," Hodgman joked, "all Biden has to do is echo what he said about President Obama, and say, 'That Paul Ryan, a very clean cut young black man.' America will go insane because there is no truth or fiction anymore, and the right wing will dump Ryan right there."
Hodgman also told us Lawrence O'Donnell himself is mentioned in his book. In a section about super-elite credit cards, That Is All informs its readers that the most exclusive card of all is the "Diner's Club Five-times Diamond Card," and one of the perks of that card is being able to commission playwright David Lindsay Abaire ("Rabbit Hole," "Fuddy Meers") to write an original Broadway show that Lawrence O'Donnell has to star in.
Now, that's a credit card!

John Hodgman should call Donald Trump up and ask for his hair stylist number, It would at least be a step up.
Too bad this clown got that Biden gaffe of 2008 wrong...what he actually said referring to Obama was "He's a good looking blackman, he's articulate, and CLEAN!" LOL!
Let's see how VP Biden holds up trying to defend the Administration's rotten economic and fiscal record of their four years, the chaos caused by their foreign affairs policy of withdrawal from our former leadership position in the world, and their lies trying to cover up for that, and their lack of any plans to make changes in their domestic and foreign agendas if given another four years. For that will be the attack pressed by Representative Ryan for 90 minutes tonight!
I believe Biden's tactics of bluster and clashing interruptions will serve him ill when this is over debate is rated by the public and the pundits. He offers nothinng new, but the same old discredited accusations and platitudes, and his fleeting facial expressions signify on just how desperate he is tonight!
Ryan is being respectful, and deferential, but he will mop up with his closing performance as the Moderator begins to shut Biden's overthetop aggressiveness down.
Watch for the closing remarks, and watch particularly how the flash surveys score the women's viewers support for the two debaters tonight especially.
What has happened to the Obama/Biden ticket? Mr. Biden acted like such an UNCONTROLLED old man, smirking, showing such rude UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. How is this suppose to help get Obama re-elected? And when it comes to TIME--the American people know how to tell time. When Mr. Biden overtalks the commentator and Paul Ryan, it seems as if Mr. Biden is showing such distress that he doesn't trust us to make our own decisions. At least, Congressman Ryan was articulate, courteous, informed and given to specific facts...time and time again.
Just as Obama failed to do, Biden delivered his closing remarks to the moderator instead of the TV Viewing Office, and made the cardinal sin of not pushing the candidacy and claim to reelection of the man at the top of the ticket. Ryan won hands down on style, and held his own very well with the substance of the arguments. And he delivered his closing remarks promoting the election of Romney directly to the TV Viewing audience.
CNN found in a focus group if undecided voters, that women voters believed Ryan did a better job and won the debate. Yet 1/3rd of all undecided voters in that focus group split evenly for each candidate, why 1/3rd remained undecided. However, a majority of the undecided focus group thought that Ryan expressed a stronger plan and vision for the future than did the VP.
Joe "Wave Bye-Bye" Biden is the second choice, Barack is first, for the poster boy "Vote us OUT!"
