MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell talked to West Wing alum Richard Schiff about taking over The Last Word anchor chair during Monday's show.
"I think in terms of first-time anchormen," O'Donnell said, "it was the sharpest upward learning curve we've ever seen."
The two men also had a discussion about Twitter, and how it's new way to share political information. O'Donnell mentioned his Twitter followers inform him of things that he would not have heard of otherwise. "They've put things on [Twitter] that I've used in the show, that our staff didn't find, that I didn't find," he said.
Schiff's new web series, Chasing the Hill, revolves the re-election campaign of a Democratic representative from California, and in which he plays a political operative. Be on the lookout for O'Donnell, who will be making a cameo in a forthcoming episode of the series.

You do realize that the White House West Wing is the furthest West we get from the Portomac and is appearing more and more like the jump off spot for a trip back home to Chicago for its present occupant, O'Donnell?

And from that news organization Grandpa favors, CNN...
http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Race-between-Romney-Obama-still-all-about-Ohio-3931972.php
A new CNN poll showed Obama leading Romney 51 percent to 47 percent among likely Ohio voters.
500 sampled only makes the margin of error in the single states double digit, Cab Driver. Crow all you want. It's a horse race. Especially with the 20 point margin in enthusiasm expressed by Republican registered voters over Democrat registered voters.
You proven here repeatedly you either can't count or can't read. The figure is 77-73, and Romney just put his foot in it with women again with his lies about not changing existing laws on abortion rights. Those clips of his advocating repealing Roe v. Wade are going viral as well as being shown over and over again in swing states. Add to that his jingoistic claims for defense, and he's put his testosterone habit on display again, and the gals aren't buying it.
The Republican SuperPacs are left with recycled Fast and Furious stuff and silly Solyandra that only their base believes.
Assuming anyone out there is still interested -
CNN Ohio poll - their stated sample size was 722 and standard error 3.5%. Perhaps there is some inside weighting going on - for a sample size of 722 the error should be +- 3.65%. This would give a 95% confidence interval of 47.35 to 54.65% for President Obama. They are pretty sure he is in there someplace.
Standard error for a sample size of 500 would be about 4.39%+-.
When you try to get something useful out of the subgroups it becomes more difficult since the sampling error jumps to 5-7%.
I miss the WW.I learned a lot about US politics (things I did not know, and Fact Checked, from the show. There is nothing wrong with LEARNING something and Admitting to it)
My late mother, who died way to young, used to say "I wish we would have a President, just like President Bartlett".I own all series on DVD,and re-watch them ever
y summer.I think favorite (one of them)with "Toby (Richard Shift, would be the HOLIDAY episode, where a homeless VET is found with Toby"S coat, and he gives him a full honor Funeral.Towards the end of the episode,They do the salute as they bury the "unkown Vet,and as they are singing the Little Drummer Boy at the WH.So well done,I watch it every Christmas time.It makes me cry every time.
I am sorry to be off topic, but was REFRESHING to have Richard Shift on with "Lawrence",as I am personally depressed about the upcoming elections, and it added humor! We Dems need some humor ,right now.
I never thought Kerry would lose to a lying bush in 2004.Enough so I went back to Montreal.(The beauty of being a dual Citizen,is you can go back and forth) I have been back in St.Paul MN,since August 2010,and never sold my home in Montreal. No way will I leave in Romneyland! bush (I know there are no caps!) was embassing to the world.Obama is loved across the WORLD.Not just Quebec, and across Canada, but go to Europe. I do not need to take my Canadian Passport to Europe,I can travel with my USA one to! They love Obama there too! Thanks Lawrence, for lifting my spirits, and getting me out of reality for an hour! WW reunion would be wonderful!:)
sorry for the non edit!I tried!
Wow I cannot believe what I saw on Oct 8 The Last Word! Mr Lawrence O'Donnell you have no right to be thumping the holy bible! How dare you! There are Christian people watching MSNBC and it was such a disgrace to see you thumping the Holy Bible. Your face looked satanic what is wrong with you? You should be thumped off of MSNBC for your immature actions and acting out on the Holy bible! That was a total disgrace and the public deserves an apology! You have no right to do what you did! I personally want an apology from you! Obviously you have no spiritual beliefs.Maybe if you did you wouldn't have displayed this unaccepted behavior! What did you gain? You need some prayers and blessings in your life for sure!I'm quite sure that your actions that night may lead to big legal problems for you. You'll be twittered in to court! In the meantime my prayers will be said to make you a better person! The Lord is good for those who believe so Respect other peoples beliefs!Who are you.....a person who needs plenty of blessings for sure!!!I'm waiting for my apology and the public's apology! How sinful that was to watch! We all have our own beliefs, and views regarding the bible. Respect it Mr. O'Donnell!
O'Donnell was just babbling in that segment. He seemed insane. Seems like he has to compete with other looneys on lsnbc
The nations trend is minimally secular, and O'Donnell and the fools at MSNBC think their boat is floating on a rising tide, but its really being swept downstream in the ebb and flow of a sewer, as we all know. Sandra Fluke for the next Secretary of Health and Human Services if Obama is relected.
Just watched a piece from The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell in which he condemns the Bible. O'Donnell was babbling and sounded insane. Is he on drugs or just so loony that angry that he acts this way. I guess he has competition such as the Ed Show. They're all insane!!!!
