Missouri Senate candidates Todd Akin and Senator Claire McCaskill debating Friday in Columbia, Missouri.
Keeping it classy down in Missouri, Todd "legitimate rape" Akin described his Democratic opponent in the Senate race, Claire McCaskill, as "more ladylike" in the past.
So how did the U.S. senator tarnish her reputation in the eyes of bat-crap crazy Akin?
According to the ultra-conservative Republican, she seemed like a "wildcat" at last Thursday’s debate. "She had a confidence and was much more ladylike [in 2006]," said the congressman. "In the debate on Friday she came out swinging, and I think that's because she feels threatened."
In an exclusive interview with The Last Word, McCaskill said many of his comments are proof of his hard-right ideology. "I don't think the problem is what Todd said; the problem is what Todd believes," she told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell. "It's not that Todd and I are that far apart, on opposite ends," McCaskill said. "I'm in the middle, and he is on the very edge."
Despite repeated calls from him to leave the race from fellow Republicans, he didn't take the hint. The final deadline to withdrawal from the ballot came and went on Tuesday, as the GOP candidate carried on with a statewide bus tour and stayed in the race.
Both Republican and Democrat leaders condemned Akin's comments suggesting "legitimate rape" rarely causes pregnancy.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee has said it will not contribute money to Akin's race, however, now they are reconsidering.

You much have a lot invested in this Missouri Senate Race, O'Donnell, as you certainly are wasting a lot of our time with one post topic after another, and usually on some miniscule matter of contention between these two candidates. The only bat crap craziness we are seeing here is the repetitiveness of your post topics on this small corner of the US, and your obsession with it. Are you planning on moving to Missouri? Most of us aren't!
Keith, thinking isn't your strong point, is it?
So far I haven't seen that Keith really has a strong point anywhere. Oh wait, whining and moaning. I wonder if he's going to cry when Obama wins and the Republicans lose the House?
I hope he continues to focus the country on this race - if this man wins it is an outrage and a huge affront to the women of this country!! All of a sudden the GOP are going to support this hideous man? They don't care what kind of person he is - just that he has a "R" - disgusting!!!
I totally agree with Jayne! What are you thinking Keith??? We live in the UNITED States of America. Each State matters, even if you never plan on living there! The GOP has moved so far right and so much against women it is worth every minute of coverage in the news. I am very thankful to Mr. O'Donnell for having the courage to report the way he does! I hope all of the people running for office with a "R" is defeated in this election year!
Of course, they're reconsidering...they'd support Ted Bundy if he was alive and running in this race!!
And yes...Teddie was a Republican...check his bio.
I suspect Akin knows less about what is ladylike than he knows about ladybits which t'ain't much.
The way I read Claire McCaskill is she thqt sh is one tightly wound liberal Democrat politician trying to survive in a very conservative Republican leaning state that has a Sandra Fluke side to her just screaming bloody murder to get out! LOL!
Really? I read her as someone living in the 21st century. I read Akin, you and your fellow Republicans as a bunch of Neanderthals who are too scared to live in these modern times. In fact you are so fearful you want to institute regressive policies, and ban science and even thought so you can drag us kicking and screaming back into the 12th century. Right Keith? You believe in Akin's theories on women's reproductive capabilities right buddy? Ha Ha Ha!
I believe that Akin had said an incredibly insulting and idiotic thing in an off the cuff interview, that he immediately apologized for, and asked for forgiveness for. And I believe that just as most politicians, he has taken stands on issues in the past and present that are calculated for political support, but that would not be possible to enact as actual legislation in the present and the future. Akin is a conservative politician campaigning in a very conservative state with a very coservative body politic, and all his campaign stances are for local consumption, not meant for national consumption after-all.
But if you hysterics (from the Greek uterus, you know) have your panties in a wad still about that months later just because the polls show him in a statistical tie with the liberal incumbent Claire McCaskill of voting record for the Stimulus, for ObamaCare, and for no budget for the past three years and the stipping of needed funds from our Defense Budget in the interest of protecting the huge deficit financed social program spending, well get a grip. The man does not really swivel his head around and project green vomit, you know? And in the debate with Claire baby, I didn't see any horns on his head either, you know?
Really 'Keys2Laundry?" Because Akins, Ryan and the whole Republican Congress actually did not only write that very legislation but actually tried to pass it in the Congress. If it wasn't for responsible Democrat legislators (like McCaskill) it would now be law of the land and little imps like you would be dancing around a bon fire naked in the hills celebrating your regressive victory! I'm assuming, of course, that's what you would do since that's what they did in the 15th century right? Ha Ha Ha!
Perhaps you should consult your tarot cards to see if Akin will win. Mayhaps you should purge the foul blood from your system via the use of leeches just to ensure you get a good reading huh 'Keys?' I know you hate science, modern healthcare, modern political policies like stimulus (which the conservatives loved and used consistently for 70 years up until Obama came along - Gee I wonder why you guys stopped that? Could it be because he's a Moor)? Ha Ha Ha!
Farewell sweet Key2Laundrey...until I see you again in my timespace! Ha Ha Ha!
There is a nudge-nudge nuance I believe has been missed. Legitimate Rape has nothing to do with rape being excused, which seems to be the way it was taken. It is this; Legitimate Rape means rapes that actually occurred, as horrible as rape is, this refers to rapes that, you know, actually occurred. Nudge-nudge… Illegitimate Rape, unspoken, means those cases where women lie and say they were raped.
With these definitions, it becomes evident why exclusions for Rape and Incest are opposed. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink, Women cannot be trusted. As an entire group, Women cannot be trusted. They will just lie and say they were raped. After all, anyone who would have an abortion in the first place……
Critiques that mention that dude couldn’t pass a high school biology class miss the point. Nature has a way of shutting that down… Nudge-nudge, wink-wink… God has a way…. Maybe God has a plan… maybe it is therefore right that rape victims continue the pregnancy… Maybe God will step in and shut things down, or not. Who are we to know?
This guy’s religious beliefs, whatever label appropriate, affect his actions. In his religion (not his group but his own views), Women cannot be trusted, sex only if married and hetero, and Men should be the ones making decisions. “His own…” is stressed because it would be unfair to lump all groups together, however, it would be fair to say there are groups that adhere to and promote that view.
So dude, it follows… In your religious views, and feel free to give a shout-out to a(ny) group(s) that you speak for, does Your God plan rapes to occur in the first place? So Voters, it follows… Do his views align with yours?
