The incident in question: President Obama and David Letterman "yucking it up" Tuesday in New York.
Fox News host Sean Hannity recently criticized President Obama for appearing on Late Show with David Letterman, completely ignoring that Mitt Romney has appeared on Letterman numerous times. Here is what Hannity said Wednesday night:
HANNITY: [Barack Obama] goes on Letterman, let's just remind everybody -- remember, Sandra Fluke, highlighted at the DNC. He calls her, 'I'm so sorry that horrible things were said about you,' but then he yucks it up with this guy...
LETTERMAN: One awkward moment in the game. Maybe you heard about it, saw it on the highlight reels. One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.
HANNITY: Her teenage daughter knocked up by Alex Rodriguez? Now, Sandra Fluke was a big issue. So tell me that's not hypocrisy.
Letterman made the Palin joke on June 8, 2009. Mitt Romney was so offended by the joke that he "yucked it up" with Letterman on March 2, 2010, February 2, 2011, and December 19, 2011.
To be clear: Hannity's argument is that it's hypocritical for President Obama to defend a woman against offensive remarks then appear alongside someone who made offensive remarks about Palin's daughter.
I guess Hannity could try to argue something like, "Yeah, well, Mitt Romney doesn't defend women against offensive remarks so it's not hypocritical for him to go on Letterman."

Obama sincerely understands the difficulties of being human.
Jay Leno told an almost identical joke about Bristol Palin:
"Governor Palin announced over the weekend that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant. Oh, boy, you thought John Edwards was in trouble before, now he's really done it!"
Sarah Palin started a feud and incited public outrage over Letterman's joke yet both she and Bristol have been guests on the Leno show. The Palin-Hannity hypocrisy boggles the mind.
Of course, it was more interesting that Obama went on Letterman after receiving the return of our dead from Libya and while the ginned up by Islamic fundamentalist jihandists crowds throughout the Muslim World are burning american flags, threatening our embassies, consulates, burning our economic franchise presences, attacking local police forces with rocks and Malatov cocktails attemting to keep them from doing harm to American and other Western interests, officials, and citizens in their lands, all due to his policy of trying to substitute his unique personality of glad hand out in friendship and the withdrawal from the strong econimic, diplomatic, and military involvement in the MiddleEast and Western Asia that his four predecessors had built up over the previous 28 years at much cost of blood and treasure. What we get instead is Obama's inane policy of "leading from behind" (which appears more and more to mean from behind the skirts of women like Hillary Clinton and his surrogate US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice), whicle he tries desperately to reignite his faded "Hollywood style rock star status" to try to escape the closing trap of his failures in foreign and domestic policies of the past 3&3/4ths years that are becomming more and more evident.
At least President Obamas policies get results.Yall just mad cause a Democrat stole yalls thunder in foriegn policy and the Neo-Conartists on the right can no longer scare the American people into thinking that the Republicans are the only ones that can protect us. Your party are nothing but First Class F**k Ups.
What you are looking at is the results of Obama policies. And the rise of militarism of China, and the increasing belligerant and uncooperative Russia. Seems the "hand out in friendship" is being bitten and slapped away, and the "lead from behind" policy is actually an abdication of the US leadership role in the World, Michael.
I'm a working stiff... I scrape and paint boats and barges. I voted for the first time in my life and it was for President Obama. Since then, I learned to not just watch one or two TV news stations. Boy did I learn a lot about the media by doing that! Though I consider myself a Liberal, I'm sure getting ever more disappointed with the media that I align myself with politically speaking. Let me be clear. I'm trying real hard to wade through all these various media outlets and dudes like O'Donnell. And I gotta share it here, that the chop jobs and lies are far more prevalent on my Liberal side of the media fence than i witness on the right
of course The liberal media is having its field day, its what they do..divide and make the other side look horrible..They get away with lack of tolerence towards anyone republican, pick on palin and her daughter..pathetic jokes..bristols kids father just knocked up another woman..will he appear on MSNBC again?like i said they demand tolernce but show very little. O'donnell and schultz go way overboard ..mathews is starting to show his true colors as well.they'll follow Olbermann very soon.
Mathews, Sharpton, and O'Donnell can't get through a week without returning to their favorite dirty tactic of racebaiting...seems they have taken it upon themselves to rile up as many black and Hispanic voters for Obama with their hysterical stances, be it on the latest news out of the Trayvon Martin incident, or some strange tying a comment about to many people being dependant on the US Government due to this Presidents failed economic policies with the old "Welfare Queen" label they threw at Reagan, who together with Bill Clinton and the Republicans in Congress in the 1990s did more to bring racial and ethnic segments of our society, (especially women and children) out of abject conditions of poverty to self responsible and much happier economic living conditions
I guess facts dont matter anymore huh? People aint drinking the Kool Aid that Fixed News is giving out.All Hannity does and is is a pathetic liar and a hate merchant that sits around like all of those other clowns ( O'Reilly Rush Pallin etc) and just make up stuff about this man.Dont get mad cause Romney aint Obama yall are just stuck with what yall have. And the funniest thing is that all these people who vote Repubican are voting against thier own self intrests. If you not a multi millionaire then Romney and Ryan are not your friends and are only lookin to rob you blind to give themselves taxcuts. People wiseup.
If you know of any Democrats in Congress that aren't millionaires or about to become one please name them Michael, because I surely do not.
If Abe Lincoln could see the republican party of the 21st century he may not become a democrat.. he'de more likely become a Muslim. In the 60s they would lock you away because you're nuts. As far as race baiting... the republican party as done everything but dropped the N bomb.. the party parades the few tokens they have in the party and thinks its the great melting pot party.. The party has always been a racist party.. just look at the red (neck) states and where they are located...
I am glad to see we the people so fired up about politics and the way our country is being run but I think that we often want to place blame where it does not belong. Being a millionaire is not a bad thing in a country where most folks here are immigrants or refugee and some of the freedoms that America offers is that thing called Capitalism which many folks have benefited from but not without the buy in from the country, concious or not, what disturbs me most is there are soo many levels of hatred, classism, racism and stigma from the top to the bottom it's no wonder we're so impotent in terms of where we are as a country now. More importantly if we allow our Congress/House of Reps to be so bold to obstruct every potential positive bill for the sake of making the Prez a one term president then we pretty much deserve the hell this country is becoming. Bipartisan my ass!!!
