Mitt Romney didn't hold back when casually chatting up wealthy donors about the "47 percent" or giving tips to Iran on how to attack the U.S. Even the ladies from The View couldn't escape a mention in the politically poisonous fundraising tape.
The Republican presidential candidate called out Whoopi Goldberg by name on the tape that's sweeping the political world, calling her a particularly "sharp-tongued" host.
The actress/comedian composed a response in a series of tweets, forming a Dear John letter of sorts to Romney, explaining why she initially liked him as a candidate and where it all went wrong. In chronological order...

Publicly today I understand that while talking to like minded folks you took a respectful observation and wondered what you had done wrong

To garner that kind of interest from me.Well Mr Romney the man I was talking about turned into a man who flushed his ideals down the drain

As Romney explained to his audience of Republicans, appearing on The View poses a "high risk" for him because "of the five women on it, only one is conservative." He added, "Although last time I was on the show [Whoopi] said to me, 'You know what? I think I could vote for you.' And I— and I said, 'I must have done something really wrong.'"
Romney will get a chance to win back their collective good graces next month. According to The Hollywood Reporter, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck read a statement on-air Wednesday from the Romney campaign, saying the candidate would "love to once more join the sharp-tongued chatter in October."

For all her prostestations, does anyone really believe Whoopi Goldberg (for all her Jewishness trumped by her Afro-Americaness and Hollkywoodness) would not be supporting Barrack Obama. Her tweets look to be streaming crocodile tears to me over her lost to her once possible candidate to support! LOL!
It doesen't matter what you think. Everything she said was on point
I'm looking forward to Mitt Romney coming face to face with Whoopi Goldberg on The View, since today, Mitt confirmed to Barbara Walters that he will be on in October. Prediction: He chickens out like the coward he is. Whoopi, you're a great lady and smart as a whip, but I beg of you to prepare to push back on his lame "I was talking about voters" excuse he's using to sidestep responsibility for the deplorable things he said to us 47%ers. I am a veteran, disabled, and receiving benefits. I am responsible for my life and when I served in the USAF, I was responsible for much more. His words, no matter what he now says to excuse them, were an attack on me and millions of others responsible, caring, and patriotic American VOTERS. I usually vote for the person best for the job, regardless of party affiliation, usually 80% DEM and 20% GOP or IND. From now on, because of Mitt Romney and the obstruction of the 112th GOP Congressmen, I will NEVER EVER vote for anything but a DEMOCRAT, PERIOD. Thanks Mitt, Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Joe Walsh, and the list goes on and on and on. While my voting practices in primary elections will remain the same, you've made my general election voting much much easier.
that whoopi could even think about endorsing any repug in this climate against obama is stupid. not because he's black, but because he's the best right now that happens to be black. as a woman with the repug views on women is crazy. i'm a black woman married to a white man for 27 years. i did whoopi better in that. only thing changed was my last name. not my heart, mind, or the vision of the realities of this country. she thought he was like his father. really!!?? all the news that has come out, how did that idea not get flushed? i love you sista but did your momma drop you on your head? just because you have made it into the light of the white does not mean you are in, really.
Well I watch the show almost daily. I saw the show when she said she might vote for him. That was when he was leaning more to the left. He was coming off more as a moderate then. He changes based on what audience is is speaking to. That day, he was less objectionable. Who he should really be scared of is Joy.
The Mitt Romney we're seeing now is the one who chopped off that kid's hair with the aid of a posse, who stole a police uniform from his father's security detail and used it to pull over unsuspecting motorists (both of these 'pranks' are felonies) and who chuckles when asked about these. The man is a sociopath. He's not a 'businessman'; that would be the guy who tries to keep the doors open and his employees paid and happy, and his customers satisfied. Romney didn't do this; he borrowed money from some very slimy individuals (including reported drug mobsters) and skimmed the profit off the companies and then left; he had nothing to do with the day to day operations. If they went under after he put them even further in debt, he didn't care.
I repeat, he's a sociopath! Look at his comments after the Libyan situation heated up. It was neither statesman-like or measured. It was Rush Limbaugh-esque and downright scary. This man does not belong any where near power.
To the gals on "The Views", You are a great group of ladies and your show is great.., Why palute the air with the worst Liar that ever slithered around in $1,000.00 suits and special made under drawers? Really! We're all sick to death of the hypocratic, BS propaganda that he can dream up , moment to moment. It all changes within the span of an hour. If it's black now it will be white in an hour... Tomorrow?? Mitt will be totaly confused at sky blue pink.... Lord have mercy. President ??? Really ???
Never mind Whoopi, where is Oprah this time around? Gone the same way as the decidedly unenthusiastic over the prospect of another 4 years for this failed President as is Obamagirl and the youth voters. Ominous, Obamaites! Ominous!
Hey Keith - Oprah has endorsed Obama, attended a fund raiser for him. Her enthusiasm hasn't waned, she's managing her business crisis. Had to fire people not long ago. Also said if the Obamas called, she'd do whatever she could to help them. As for Obama girl, wow....what a tragedy to lose her amazing influence. If you insist on showing up here, why not come with something worthwhile to say?
