Question: For the past three years, all everybody's been told is "don't worry, we'll take care of you." How are you going to do it, in two months before the elections to convince everybody, you've got to take care of yourself?Romney: There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what.
And I mean the president starts off with 48, 49, 4— he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. So he'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich.
I mean, that's what they sell ever four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is to convince the five to ten percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or the other depending upon in some cases emotion, whether they like the guy or not.
Mitt Romney wants to help all Americans struggling in the Obama economy. As the governor has made clear all year, he is concerned about the growing number of people who are dependent on the federal government, including the record number of people who are on food stamps, nearly one in six Americans in poverty, and the 23 million Americans who are struggling to find work. Mitt Romney's plan creates 12 million new jobs in four years, grows the economy and moves Americans off of government dependency and into jobs.

How do we know Romney isn’t in the 47% who paid no taxes? He won’t reveal any but the most recent two years of his tax returns. Maybe he’s hiding the fact that he’s one of the 47% who expect things from the government — things like massive tax breaks. Talk about government dependency, millions of "welfare" for the super-rich.

It's understandable the Romneys have no idea what it is like to struggle financially. They were born wealthy and live a different reality. You'd think such abundance would breed compassion. Instead, it's bred obscene greed. What's particularly unforgiveable is the utter comtempt they both have for average Americans, you know, "you people."

Those receiving govt benefits like "welfare" must work to get it, and they are getting welfare because richy riches like Mitt Romney refuse to pay a living wage, even if they have the money in the bank. They want people to beg for a pittance. So these people are working!!!! They are working, govt is subsidizing these employees for people like Mitt Romney, the Koch brothers, the Walton family.
Those people receiving Social Security who are older have reached retirement age and have paid in to Social Security and deserve their retirement, they have been responsible and likely lost their 401K "privatized" retirement plans due to the stock market crash and homes due the the mortgage bubble, both caused by the rich 1% and their greed, companies like Romney's Bain capital.
Those people receiving disability have paid into the system in one way or another. They have paid into Social Security if they receive that, and everyone who pays one of the many types of taxes we have pay for Medicaid and Welfare, so we pay for that. Mitt Romney acts like government money is his already and he needs to get rid of these "deadbeats" that are taking his money. Most of these people have worked prior to their disability or have never been able to work due to their disability.
I suppose Mitt Romney includes Veteran's benefits as one of the many "handouts" that "deadbeats" get who don't want to "take responsibility" for themselves. Many of these people coming back have trouble getting work or are disabled and deserve the best we have to give them.
The last group of deadbeats are children of poorer working families that that have Ebenezer Scrooge as a boss. Should we now demand that poor working class children work, like Newt Gingrich suggests? Certainly the work the parents do should earn them some help to feed their families. Or should only the wealthy deserve to have families? They certainly don't take care of their dogs very well...
Oh, I did forget another group of "deadbeats" receiving "government handouts", that is, people who receive grant money. Schools, universities, American Indian Nations who are owed much more than they receive, artists, and most of all, the billionaires who get every penny they can from government funding for business enterprises and research endeavors, they get huge handouts, along with contracts, a free pass to permanently destroy our environment unnecessarily to save them a few bucks, and even political power. This is the biggest handout we the people can give them, the power to change our laws and destroy our protections for our people, our way of life, and our environment.
So lets get those deadbeat cheapskate Ebenezer Scrooges and their cronies out of office for good. I'd like to see them fined heavily, kicked out of the country and banned from doing business here.

Historically, sir, your state is a taker. Y'all receive more in federal funds than you pay in. It seems that you red states may be the actual freeloaders. But the middle class tend to make less in the South, because your leaders have sold you workers out in order to get jobs at any level. If they can, your bosses will keep cutting your pay. Of the so called 47% that pay NO taxes, that is because (and please read closely) there are MANY people who have deductions. Deductions means, they can use money they spent on Medical Bills, Mortgages, and other Federally allowed specifics, to LOWER what Taxes they pay. There are MANY people in this Country GodFearing that have paid out THOUSANDS of dollars LEGALLY. (Notice I capitalize when I am trying to make a point to you). THEREFORE, with ALL the MONEY they have spent LEGALLY, per the TAX CODE, they owe NOTHING, to the Federal Government. Read and heard the entire content of the video and Romney was simply stating the truth...that people who pay no income taxes will not be interested in a tax reduction and that those who are in Obama's camp and are in that group are in favor of government entitlements and favor the victim mentality. He never said he had disdain, and clarified that he wants to help all people become more self reliant.
You didn't get nearly as upset when Obama made the comment in 08 about people in reral Pennsylvania "clinging to their guns and religion" in a very disdainful tone. And you dont call Obama every time he disparages people who have been sudccessful. I guess that Romney calling half the country lazy freeloaders is not enough to wake you up. Even if he probably envisions someone just like you as he says it. Well, not just like you, since you probably did not vote for Obama -- but, I suspect, that's the only difference. You are tolerated only because you will vote for him, but he will shake your hand only as long as he needs your vote. And he will then try to make sure you, lazy middle class person that you probably are, work as hard as you can be made to for as little as possible, with as few protections, benefits and security as possible.
