The Obama and Romney teams suspended partisan campaigning today, on the 11th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Here are some more stories we discussed today at the Last Word Rundown meeting:
- The politics of Medicare, made simple
- Dick Cheney accuses President Obama of taking ‘sole credit’ for bin Laden's death
- New book claims Karl Rove urged Susan G. Komen retreat on Planned Parenthood
- Nine deep(ish) thoughts on the new Washington Post-ABC News poll
- Romney’s tax plan leaves key variables blank
- John Boehner 'not confident at all' fiscal cliff can be avoided
- Moody's issues fiscal cliff warning
- Sheldon Adelson stands to get $2 billion tax cut if Mitt Romney is elected
- Paul Ryan pushed for green-car loans

Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan has problem in accuracy and truthfulness, lie and flip-flop in many issues.
When examing the Likely voters based polls, like the recently released Washington Post/ABC poll, or the Quinipiac University polls, or the Rasmussen daily tracking polls,it might do well to examine not the trends amongst the registered democrats and the registered Republicans, but rather those among the registered Independents who are classified as likely voters. I don't particular care how enthusiastic the Democrats Registered likely voters are after their National Convention, as if they were likely voters in the first place, they could be counted on to be for Obama. Ditto for Romney and the Republicans. But for the Independents, where the election will be decided, that is a totally different horse of a different color in this acknowledged horse race.
