Bill Clinton in the spotlight at the DNC in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday.
If you give Bill Clinton a microphone you may not get it back, television audiences can now attest. Bubba brought that Clintonian charm to the Democratic National Convention Wednesday, winding up the crowd with an epic 50-minute speech in support of President Obama. He went over his allotted time, oh, by about 20 minutes. (Somewhere a producer was having a panic attack).
The TelePrompTer operator had their work cut out for them as the former president went off script numerous times, rewriting his own words on the fly and adding in personal anecdotes of his days in office.
Wonky at times in his case for Obama's re-election, he managed to subtly jab the Romney-Ryan ticket along the way. After suggesting Republican vice presidential pick Paul Ryan has been hypocritical in his attacks on Obama’s Medicare policy, Clinton said off the cuff, "It takes some brass to attack a guy for doing what you did." Boom.
Check out the comparison between his prepared remarks and the lines he actually delivered — all those rewrites are shown in red.

Everyone admits Clinton brought a lot of energy to what was shaping up as a killer of a flat day, after Michele and Mayor Castro on Tuesday, even if he did run off at the mouth much to much, dragging the prime time speeches past the EDT 11:30 PM hour. And what had started on a shaky note with the spectacle of the Democrats, who were against God before they were judged to be for him in a dubious voice vote that seemed to be more 50-50 to most observors, putting up the likes of Cecile Richardson, Patrick Duval, Elizabeth Warren (who sounded and acted like a highschool valadictorian, claiming Obama, Biden, and she were ready to REBUILD THE WORLD at the end of her speech), and then that self promoting one trick pony (free oral contaraceptives for all women) Sandra Fluke, who would do better to open her mouth less, and close her legs more in public, had the 2nd night of this convention headed for disasterville. I thought it interesting that MSNBC boycotted the Warren Speech, but focused like a laser beam on Sandra Fluke, but they have been beating the War on Women dead horse since this Spring, and Warren is down 5 points to Scott Brown in her Senate Race, and slipping further in the polls, and looks to be a lost cause.
My guess is that most of those TV viewers that might have stayed with the convention coverage instead of tuning in the Cowboys-Giants football game might have caught some of Clinton's rambling, sometimes bordering hoarse, incoherrant speech, filled with inacurate statements and math examples, which for some reason the leftist media don't seem anxious to fact check (like that 4.5 million new jobs number that is more like 200,000 only in Obama's term of office for all his $5.5 Trillion new debt run up), left at half way through the diatribe at 11:00 PM for the Comedy Channel, and the Daly Show with John Stewart for some well needed laughs at these fools.
Interesting though...Romney's speech went head to head with a pre-season game...and he came in second.
Ever notice how many times Romney does come in second? Sounds like the perfect spot for him...second in a two man race.
It gets better, EWO... Grandpa Keith aka "Sonny" Fuzz boldly smeared the President last week with the prognostication that the convention wouldn't fare well against the football season opener...

The second night of the Democratic National Convention beat the Republicans in television ratings and, perhaps more impressively, beat pro football.
An estimated 25.1 million people watched the convention between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday, when former President Bill Clinton delivered an impassioned nomination speech for President Barack Obama, the Nielsen ratings company said.
Casino manager is looking for you again, Grandpa...
Clinton didn't finish speaking until after 11:35 PM Cab Driver, and those that were still with him at 11:00 which you correctly specified is when his national audience left him tuned in The Daly Show with John Stewart for some much needed comic relief.
Let's look at what occured this week: the Democrat Convenion opened with the debt clock showing our national debt going over $16 Trillion; om Wednesday, the country was treated to the sounds and sights of fully half of the Democrat delegates booing GOD, for heaven's sake; and Friday, the shop worn ex Rock Star President of 2008 stood there at the podium in an event moved out of the scheduled 65,000 stadium now minus his props of fake Greek Columns made of plywood and styrofoam and artificial smoke of 4 years ago (your first clue that things were not going to turn out well at all) and told the people: "I need to have more time...the path ahead is hard...the task was too great for anyone President to take care of in just one term." The man of HOPE had become the man of just COPE!
Of course, this AM we found out what he already knew when he made his Thursday night address; another disasterous monthly employment report, and worse, 368,000 individuals dropping out of the Labor force as it is too hard to find work in this country, and that Labor force now at its lowest levels in over 30 years. We are the 1970s all over again, and the one president that steered us on the right path to recovery in one term of office then was Ronald Reagan. And that failed President he replaced was Jimmy Carter. Sound familiar? I know you were a bit of a drinking man, back then, but even in detox they had newspapers, didn't they Cab Driver?
By your multiple references to them, you seem to have a seriously unhealthy fixation and fetish for "Greek Columns", Keith.
Represents some long-lost symbol of your youth perhaps?

What document was required for the 1st statement?
Does the fact that Mitch and the Republicans voted 'No' on every issue that cross their desk mean anything to you? Does the fact that the Republicans filibuster every jobs bill, 16 of them, to sabotage the economy and employment numbers mean anything to you? You can search the internet for that fact, its everywhere.
Its amazing how republican voters simply deny that the Republicans have trash this nation for personal power and self gratification simply to have something to blame on President Obama for not getting anything done in Washington. Oh well, stupid is as stupid does.
I believe I know what tree you are barking up Adam, with your coded reference to resumes at freepress.net, but I don't seem to find a Tue, April 19 Last Word Post topic with a comment numbered #1.11 if that was the direction you were referring to in you research exercise #1 above. Interesting though that you've contracted the obsession of the participant that you directed that post to.
MR. PRESIDENT ,
You need to stand up against the lies the right is making on the National debt.
They are accusing you of spending $6 TRILLION during your term.
I know for a fact that they are all GOP policies that caused it.
Fixing the GOP screw ups is not your spending Mr. President it is theirs.
Stimulus to save the GOP screw ups are LOANS not spending.
INTEREST on the GOP TRILLIONS of debt is NOT yours to be responsible for.
MR. President,
They will say the Democrats had a “majority”.
But we all well know the filibustering, obstructing GOP has the “CONTROL”
The unfunded wars were GOP started wars based on deception.
Mr. President,
The $16 TRILLION National Debt is GOP Policies of the past 32 years.
Stand up for your record and denounce those accusations.
Use their debt clock against them.
Mr. President,
Use ARITHMETIC against them.
Democratic policies that added to the National Debt = ????
Deduct that from $16 TRILLION
The balance will equal GOP DEBT.
This is NOT blaming the GOP or BUSH.
This is ARITHMETIC Mr. President.
Deficits to finance our nation's wars have always been the case, ever since we turned to the Dutch and the French for our War of Revolution and War of 1812, BO. And our nations's Defense has always been a bi-partisan proposition. But the FDR, Lyndon Johnson, and Barrack Obama models of running up huge deficits for the purposes of social engineering experimentation and Kenesnian economic schemes, that never work, are not bi-partisan...they are promulgated on us only when the Democrats have control of both the White House and Congress, BO. Romney/Ryan 2012.
Sunday talking heads shows are usually pretty good at getting a picture on how things worked out through the week prior. Seems that the consensus was the the best speech of the DNC was Bill Clinton's, followed by Michele's, and Obama's came in third. But the best synopsis of the Clinton speech was that it was short on accurate facts, was long on promoting himself as an example of what Obama should, and can not apparently do, and a glaring difference of his results as a compromising with Republican's in the Congress post 1994 Republican Revolution, going to the center of American politifics, and budget balancing President with what the Obama Administration has been since the 2010 mid-term election results should have had him pull in his all out extreme liberal agenda.
Clinton needs Obama to lose this election, to set up the return of Hillary as an "I told you so in 2008" Presidential candidate in 2015/2016, unhampered by the bad taste left in the populaces' mouths that 8 years of Obama in the White House fighting like a featherweight that can't punch his way out of a paper bag would bring about. Hence the hidden effect of all that adlibing which is where the self agrandizement for his own years in office was dealt out as an alternative to the failed promises of Obama cause "no president could have turned it around in just 4 years" which is really hard to put on a bumper sticker, let alone President Obama's giving himself a grade of "INCOMPLETE" to his inability to deliver on his many promises of 2008 and 2009 in a recent interview.
