"I wish President Obama had succeeded because I want America to succeed. But his promises gave way to disappointment and division," Romney said during his speech to the RNC in Tampa, Florida. "This isn't something we have to accept. Now is the moment when we can do something. With your help we will do something."
Lawrence O'Donnell called it his best speech yet.
The former Massachusetts generally played it safe in his address, refraining from delving into specific policy initiatives to not any swing voters. (Todd Akin who?) Instead, he cast himself as the loving family man and CEO who can put American back to work.

Okay, now let me get this straight. Romney said--to a group of die-hard Republicans--that "the best feeling you got from President Obama was the day you voted for him"?
Republicans voted for Obama? Right? In what alternative universe?
The Willard Mitt "Milo Minderbinder" Romney presidential campaign rolls on...
Okay, yeah Lawrence, some of us did pick up that Romney was borrowing from the old Bush 43 playbook about "low expectations." Did he manage to draw you in with that one?
Did you miss the part that the convention is not closed and is in fact televised on primetime tv? Romney wasn't just addressing the Republicans in the convention hall, he was addressing the television audience as well, a good many of whom did vote for President Obama in 2008. You may disagree with Romney's policy proposals, but he had a good night last night.
And did you hear where Romney claimed Republicans "wanted the President to succeed"? (see Humbaugh® Rush)

Mr. Romney Reinvents History
Mitt Romney wrapped the most important speech of his life, for Thursday night’s session of his convention, around an extraordinary reinvention of history — that his party rallied behind President Obama when he won in 2008, hoping that he would succeed. “That president was not the choice of our party,” he said. “We are a good and generous people who are united by so much more than divides us.
The truth, rarely heard this week in Tampa, Fla., is that the Republicans charted a course of denial and obstruction from the day Mr. Obama was inaugurated, determined to deny him a second term by denying him any achievement, no matter the cost to the economy or American security — even if it meant holding the nation’s credit rating hostage to a narrow partisan agenda.
Martin Bashir's "Mitt the Mendacious" is wholly apropos.
I dea from Les Miserables: At the end of the day will unruly Republicans simply be too tone-deaf to hear the people sing? We'll know when tomorrow comes.
Apparently by quoting Bashin Bashir, that MSNBC frumped up would be journlalist whose only game is sarcasm, you think that authenticates your ignorant faked outrage that Romney have really wanted America to succeed, Cab Driver. Those words "his party rallied behind President Obama after he won election in 2008" are dripping with this clown's stock in trade sarcasm, and were his words, not Romney's.
And I seem to remember even Barrack Obama coming late to the realization that the economic recovery he thought his $1.6 trillion of deficit spending, including his $800 billion stimulus waste and inefficiencies had put the economy on a path of recovery that would make his promise to reduce Unemployment below 7% that that was one promise that wasn't coming tre...no where near it, so he stated in agreement with the Repblicans who fought his tax increase schemes "one doesn't raise taxes in q recession". Of course, seeing his failure, and looking at a re-election bid, he has since been angling all year for another $400 billion of tax and deficit stimulus spending that he would undoubtedly steer to the swing states he so desperately needs to win to hang on to power.
Why don't you stop with this constant crutch of yours quoting or referencing liberal talking heads and rabid bloggers for the left, and actually post a single idea of your own, Cab Driver...you of the self proclaimed "superior intellect"?
Isn't Grandpa cute? He either attacks me as an "educational failure" (or a bigot) if I bring my own material, or he attacks my sources and dismisses anything that doesn't agree with his narcissistic world view...
Fuzzy, maybe we could get Clint Eastwood to play you in the made-for-TV reality movie we're planning to do about this site...
Seriously, you do appreciate the role I play here, right, Grandpa? You wouldn't want to be talking to an empty chair, would you?
Now would you care to speak to the issue of Lyin' Ryan petitioning for Stimulus Funds he voted against because "it would be good for jobs"?
Or are you going to risk a heart attack hollering about that dadblasted activist judge who just restored early voting in Ohio?
Give me a D! D! Give me an E! Give me an N! N! Give me an I! I!
D-E-N-I-A-L!
How do you spell it again?
L-O-N-G-E-Y!
I'd be honored to have Clint Eastwood play me in the film version of Last Word Blog, although I'm closer in age and resemble Kenny Rogers more (without the plastic surgery), and am a bit of a singer and gambler, Cab Driver.
After Barrack Obama failed to save the Janesville, Wisconsin GM SUV and Truck plant from its mothballed inactive state after the last trucks rolled off its assembly line in June, of 2009 (4 months after Obama bought a majority share in the name of the US taq payer in GM with $80 billion of TARP dollars in Feb, 2009), the warning of a local college economist in Ryan's Congressional District that the ripple effect would be the loss of 9,000 jobs in the immediate county, the Congressman tried to get some of those eventual local Wisconsin tax dollars from the $800 billion stimulus spending back for his district. He obviously would have preferred the reactivtion of the Janesville GM plant now under the management of the federal government. Interesting here is the GM's managers inside the corporation wanted to reactivate that plant in 2010, but the federal givernment nixed that as it disn't mix well with their agenda of having GM build small autos, hybrids, and the infamous Chevy Volt..as they continued to wage the government's war on fossil fuels.
And finally, debating you is like debating an empty suit, so why not an empty chair? LOL!
Nobody is showing up to agree with you, Fuzzy, and you should see the friends I've picked up...
Ryan couldn't have voted in favor of the stimulus package? Probably not, because he's got his lips glued too firmly to Grover Norquist's hind end...
The decision to close the Janesville Plant was made in June, 2008... Nobody is disputing that one except Ari Fleischer, from your beloved CNN, and he was just raked over the coals for trying to defend Lyin' Ryan...
http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/08/30/cnns-ari-fleischer-fails-at-fact-checking-janes/189659
CNN contributor Ari Fleisher distorted the history of a Wisconsin auto plant that closed in 2008, a dishonest attempt to defend Paul Ryan from scrutiny over false claims he has made.
Ryan has been sharply critical of President Obama's rescue of the U.S. auto industry in 2009, falsely accusing Obama of going back on a promise to save a GM plant in Janesville, Wisconsin. Ryan returned to that claim during his convention speech Wednesday:
Here's a bit of advanced management dynamics courtesy of my six-figure brother-in-law: It's a sign of weak management when "yes men" proliferate in an organization.
Ari Fleischer is just another unquestioning yes man who would rather disbelieve his own eyes (there's a picture, remember) than tell the truth to power.
The guy who was voted "the biggest brown noser" in his high school class, Paul Ryan, is just another of Norquist's kowtowing yes men, and Fleischer had a similar role with the Cheney Administration. Of course now even Condeleeza Rice is spinning stuff to say she "fought Cheney." Didn't happen...
By contrast, the stories on the Bid Laden takedown have Valerie jarrett twice telling President Obama not to "hit the kill switch," and Mr. Obama possessed the wherewithal to do so nevertheless.
And Mitt-the-Mendacious said that was an easy call...
Great...Valarie Jarret is now not just the social confidant to Michelle Obama but the alter ego for military tactics in the Obama White House? God save us.
Media Matters is a Geoge Soros supported leftist group, and hasan agenda which is pro Democrat and anti Republican. Check out tomorrow's CNN Sunday AM weekly critique of the media coverage, pros and cons, for an unbiased look at these issues. And you harping on a decision made to INACTIVATE the assembly of GM SUV and TRUCK models in June, 2008 originally schedued for Oct, 2008, did not negate the fact the those assembly lines would be place in standby status while the GM-Izzu partnership production and assemply of trucks continued, until June, 2009, as in my post above. Ari had it right.
I was watching Ryans speech on C-Span, but when it was over, I checked in on MSNBC's rabid talking heads to find that their intitial consensus was that "This guy (Ryan) is going to be trouble." And then the discussion degenerated to a media discussion of the best tactics the Obama campaign (and by extension, the very network they were appearing on) could use against Ryan, to neutralize him. And Harold Fineman summed that up with his statement..."They had better brand Ryan as a liar...and do it fast...otherwise he's going to be trouble!"
Telling, hmmm?
I'm independent and he blow it out of the park. . . It was totally unexpected "are we better off today "???... We know Wall Street is and I will never forget the bonus and 100% on the dollar for AIG think about it.
And I trust as an independent, you read the Republican Platform that called for outlawing all abortions, even in the case of rape or incest, no restrictions on "clip size" in AR-15 and AK-47 style assault weapons...
Fortunately--yes I'm biased, but I've been watching Romney for over ten years now--not many people were watching, and they had to watch Clint Eastwood first.
Think about the alternative on the bailouts, okay?
The biggest problem for Romney is that he is not sincere. He comes accross as fake, not real, mythological, robot, evil spirit.
Augustus,
By any chance do you remember the scene between Sam Loggins (Frank Sinatra) and Brett Harris (Tony Curtis) in Kings Go Forth - the one about Brett's "character"?
And before Grandpa gets up and starts hitting whatever variety of ethanol it is that fuels his rants, one last link...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/08/31/romneys-speech-where-was-the-policy/
We heard precious little about Mitt Romney’s plans for the country. By my count, Barack Obama’s 2008 convention speech spent 768 words describing his domestic and economic policies. Romney’s speech spent 260 words. There was almost no mention — and absolutely no description — of his budget, tax, health care or Medicare plans.
All in all, Romney’s speech was…fine. I doubt he did himself any harm. And I’m sure he’ll get some sort of a convention bump. But it felt like a missed opportunity for him to close the deal. The American people already know that they’re not happy with the economy. Tonight was Romney’s chance to persuade them that he has a better way. But his speech really didn’t even try to do that.
I doubt that you were interested in a policy speech at the Republican Convention, Cab Driver...but stay tuned to the campaign, as you will have more than enough fromthe Reomney/Ryan ticket.
We know Obama's policy though...skip the past bragging and promises review as those didn't work out at all well over the past 4 years, and continue with the attacks on Romney's business successes, his sucesses as an Executive running a populous state (Massachusetts) which required him to forge policy outcomes in a bi-partisan manner with a heavily Democrat controlled Legislature, and turn that state around, with a swing from a $3 billion deficit when he took office to a 2 billion rainy day fund when he left. And improving the K thru graduate school state's education systems, improving access to college and universities, and ushering in over 50,000 new good, high paying jobs in tgechnology, education, health service, retail and transportation, bring the new job growth nominal figures down from 51st (worst) in the nation when he first took office to 30th when he left. And balanced four budgets, cutting taxes while he did. Of course we all knew about his turning around the about to fail Salt Lake City Winter Olympics when he was asked to take that task on.
I assume you were watching MSNBC Convention coverage, so you missed the testimonial to his successful careers, as this Obama hugging network boycotted that as not being in sync with the lying campaign to slandar this learned and experienced business and government LEADER, Mitt Romney. All because their man came to the office without that leadership executive experience and talant, and even though Obama has been in office for going on four years, still hasn't made progress learning those skills, as his record surely shows.
As Clint Eastwood said last night, "He didn't do the job...You've got to let him go...let him go!"
I wouldn't be using multi-syllable words like "policy" when you don't have a clue what they mean... Seriously...

MR. ROMNEY REINVENTS HISTORY
And of course Eastwood wasn't any funnier than that Donald Trump "You''re fired!" skit you predicted would've been, but our hero from outsourced spaghetti westerns didn't have the "Birther Baggage."
Q: Why weren't Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Christine O'Donnell, Ann Coulter, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Allen West seen at the RNC?
A: The Etch-a-Sketch ate 'em...
Obviously, time for the new guard. But stay tuned to the Democrat Party convention, you will see their tired ideologue conterparts paraded before the cameras and microphones all you want. As to George Bush and Dick Chaney, they took themselves out of active political campaigning...at least so far.
Hmmm, it took me awhile...
Bush and Cheney... took themselves out of active politial campaigning...
By garsh, you are occasionally capable of comedy.
Over most of my life I've listened carefully to both Dems and Reps running for office and have voted for both. However, the Republicans have sunk to such lows since the beginning of the Clinton administration, that I doubt I ever will vote for a Rep again. I listen to conservative talk radio, occasionally watch Fox News, as well as CNN, MSNBC, etc. The disgusting Eastwood performance was no surprise--it's in keeping with the insulting, name-calling, fear-mongering rhetoric I hear, particularly on conservative talk radio. This convention was very carefully choreographed and I believe Romney and his staff were fully aware of what Eastwood's performance would be--I think they felt it would appeal to an important segment of the Republican base that they are trying to appease and will continue to kow-tow to if elected.
And when are the Republicans going to take responsibility for paralyzing the administration by refusing to take action on anything Obama proposed, even when it was what the Republicans proposed? Their goal, as stated, was to unseat Obama rather than serve their constituents and move the country forward. Now they blame the Obama administration for getting nothing done. Then Romney chooses one of the worst players as his Veep.
Yes, Romney did a good job delivering his speech but I still have no idea how he and Ryan intend to accomplish their stated goals. Create 12 million jobs, lower taxes, keep the military strong, reduce the deficit. He can say anything--talk is cheap.

See my above comments for your rejoinder, nanopolitico.
Lawrence may be my last hope. Been listing to MSNBC all morning. The buzz is Clint Eastwood and how "human" Romney was last night. Nice Try...Where is the buzz about Romney and his cronies wanting to engage in war in 5 countries. Just as in his business side, he doesn't have to get personal about his decisions. It won't be his sons dying in the Middle East or his family losing their jobs. He knows how to de-personalize his engagement for his own gain! I love my family too and I help my dying friends as well. Nothing exceptional here and it doesn't qualify my for president. We all know how human he will be during his wars, protecting his family and friends. After all he has a record.
"He knows how to de-personalize his engagement for his own gain! ........We all know how human he will be......" Is he hunan?
There's a nice piece on Ed Schultz on Romney's chicken hawk chest beating...
Beware of the trolls, however... The little ones can give surprisingly nasty bites...
Willard Mitt Romney Promises
“We want to be held accountable for the promises we made last night, and the night before,” said Romney, appearing at a farewell rally at an airport in Florida just hours after officially accepting the Republican nomination. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/08/romney-says-hell-be-accountable-for-campaign-promises/
Iran and War
"If we re-elect Barack Obama, Iran will have a nuclear weapon. If you elect me as president, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon."
So what would he do about it? "I do not have a top secret security clearance at this stage to be able to define precisely what kinds of actions we could take." But he adds that "the range includes something of a blockade nature, to something of a surgical strike nature, to something of a decapitate the regime nature, to eliminate the military threat of Iran altogether." http://crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/mitt-romneys-big-promises-and-bigger-lies
Mitt Romney’s foreign policy advisers are made up of 70% Bush Cheney regime war hawks. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021026133
Questions: Why would Romney surround himself with Bush’s war cabinet for advice, even Colin Powell warned against this? If you were in charge of Iran, would you not prepare for War with America, because Romney has warned you? Is American prepared, financially and emotionally, to accept more flag-draped coffins due to another war?
A Job for Every College Graduate
"What I can promise you is this -- when you get out of college, if I'm president you'll have a job. If President Obama is reelected, you will not be able to get a job. That's the reason I will hopefully get young people who are in college is to say, You know what, I understand what it takes to get jobs in America."
As the record shows, not so much. After all, as the Los Angeles Times recently documented, Romney's "Bain Capital often maximized profits in part by firing workers." That's why FactCheck.org, the Washington Post Fact Checker and Fortune all refused to vouch for Romney's claim that "In those hundreds of businesses we invested in, tens of thousands of jobs net-net were created."
http://crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/mitt-romneys-big-promises-and-bigger-lies
Questions: Do you really believe anyone can guarantee you a job, better yet, a well-paying job? If getting a school grant or loan is made harder or your parents are unable to loan you the funds, will you be able to get a decent job, without a college education?
Will Reverse President Obama's Massive Defense Cuts"
"I will reverse President Obama's massive defense cuts. Time and again, we have seen that attempts to balance the budget by weakening our military only lead to a far higher price, not only in treasure, but in blood."
Sadly for Romney, as Steve Benen pointed out, defense spending has not only gone up every year of the Obama presidency. It is higher than it ever was when George W. Bush sat in the Oval Office.
Of course, Romney's confusion over matters of war and peace are hardly new. In an April op-ed for the Manchester Union Leader, Mitt forgot about the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan as he denounced President Obama for "one of the biggest peacetime spending binges in American history."
http://crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/mitt-romneys-big-promises-and-bigger-lies
Questions: Is Romney forgetful, confused, or knowingly lying on his knowledge of defense spending? Should the military personnel and/or Pentagon be worried if Romney is elected?
Repealing Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)
In a statement immediately following the Supreme Court’s decision, Romney promised to “act to repeal Obamacare” on his “first day if elected president of the United States” and if Congress puts a bill to that effect on his desk, he’ll do it.
Technically speaking, since repealing the bill would increase the budget deficit, it should be ineligible for the budget reconciliation process that Democrats used to pass the bill in the first place with only 59 votes. Scrapping the law,… should be a pretty easy lift for Republicans—if they win the election. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2012/06/obamacare_repeal_romney_can_do_it_.html
Questions: When parents have to remove students from their insurance can they go to the ER without feeling like they are abusing the system? What will happen to those refused treatment/medicine because of preexisting illnesses? Will the ‘donut’ hold for seniors come back? Will seniors have to ration medicine or do w/o again? Does preventive /wellness care for women, children, and the elderly go away?
You miss the point, emj...in a Romney economy, young adults in the early to mid 20s won't be dependant on their working parents (or working parent) for food, laundry services, a childhood room to sleep in, and their inclusion on their health insurance in some weird protracted adolescence.
The hot war in Iraq ended under the George Bush administration, and we were already engaged in the training a support phase with drawn down troop levels when Obama took office, and the date for complete withdrawl was already set under a negotiated status of forces agreement. A war that was won by the US and its Allies, not the defeat that Barrack Obama and Harry Reid ("the War is Lost") attepted to sabatoge in the US Senate. Funny that Obama is now running with a message that he successfully ended the Iraq War.
As to Afghanistan, he spent six weeks polling before he shortchanged his military commanders in the field by denying them the full complement of the troops for a winning effert surge their, and than undercut his limited aooroval with a poll driven decision to announce a withdrawl date, tying our military's hands behind their backs. As Romney said when he announced that, "Why bother at all then, if your announcing your withdrawal two years in advance, why not just bring them home in the morning?"
Leading from behind is Obama's timnid nature, he even let the Congress design and pass their wretched, ruinous (Un)affordable Care Act, and then after the 2010 election told him he read the polls wrong, stated "I should have commuicated to the pople better." That's Obama's brand of leadership. You see, it's a problem from his past...most of all, he just want's to be liked! Not interested in being respected!
Don't worry your timid little head about Iran, emj...the Republicans, that have the respect of our military and repect the military, will take care of that threat and any other in this dangerous world!
Even Romney doesn't agree with you about young people, Grandpa...
Remember how he told people worried about college to "borrow the money from their parents"?
A loan isn't sponging in dependancy. And the loans Romney was taking about were to take a risk and start a business...that could prosper, expand in due time, and even hire others and add to our economy. You see, under the Obama economy of anti-business rhetoric, anti-bank rhetoric, and anti-private sector and taking the resources for pro-government hiring, and redistributing the nations wealth thru social spending, we are at our lowest level of new small business startups since the failed Jimmy Carter Democrat Administration, Cab Driver.
And the Carter Administration happened right after the winding of down of the Vietnam War (BTW, we lost that one) that was financed by deficit spending.
Reagan followed with high levels of deficit spending (in his defense, he spent "his money" on defense, and Congress spent "theirs" on social programs), and a period of economic growth followed.
George H. W. ("read my lips") Bush was the casualty of that bloated spending (and the Perot candidacy; Clinton wasn't all that popular, and Poppy Bush wasn't hated). That was where I learned how smart my mentor was when, in 1988, he assured me Bush 41 would be a one-term president. Gobsmacked me, honest, even when Bush's popularity surged following Gulf War I...
You're a wannabe elitist, Grandpa, and a shill for the one percent crowd. A huge chunk of parents don't have the money to loan their kids for an education, and if the Repugs really favored peace, they'd realize that we don't need a large standing army which only raises everyone's taxes. Testosterone poisoning, pure and simple.
Essentially stupid people who want to be the "toughest guys on the block." President Obama has realized it's more productive to be the smartest folks on the block.
Sadly, it takes intelligent folks to recognize other intelligent ones...
"crooks and lairs"..."democraticunderground"...."slate"..." all bastions of the in the bubble rabid liberal think, as even ABC sadly has come to be (oh well, they still do sports well).
Try some of the real news sources for a change Car Driver, and you night actually have some people here respecting you resource references you think bolster your pathetic attempt at cogent, and reasonable arguments.
I sneaked into a local newspaper today and gave a bit of a history lesson (much of it was deleted because I was supporting someone who had the audacity to be really provocative on the subject), and danged if they didn't behave exactly as you are right now. It was strictly namecalling and because-I-said-so nonsense couched in verbal gibberish.
The problem is, I'd fact-checked my stuff with an authentic PhD with extensive knowledge and experience on the subject, and I was given a "spot on" review.
Same thing happens here. We're treated once again to "shoot-the-messenger" tactics instead of authentic addressing of the facts.
Well, we're work on Clint playing you in the movie, and I've tentatively titled the chapter "Lyin' Longey Rides Again." Of course we'll have to have a stunt double for the horseback scenes, and someone to clean up the extra manure. You already provide plenty of that of your own.
Global warming denying, arguing against women's reproductive rights, racism, and outright nonsense about history are all there on your jacket, fuzzy, and you would then try to shift the debate to the economy while ignoring that President Obama orchestrated an effective auto company bailout, and Mitt Romney proposed we let Detroit go bankrupt. You hypocritically blast the NY Times as unreliable, and yet that was the forum where Mitt-for-Brains published his views.
Your elevator doesn't reach the top floor, period.
I admit to arguing against global warning ala the carbon dioxide tired old argument that has been thooughly discredited and arguing against racism. But where do you get off claiming I argued against women's reproductive rights? I was married, and have a daughterl...there is nothing I've said that even comes close to arguing against women's reporductive rights that are secured by the established law of the Rowe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, but free for all abortion support with federal tax dollars is illegal and unwarrented, and I do argue against that financing.
As to your nonsense about a letter to the editor of a local newpaper and one of your mysterious committee of three PHDs (one of whom is a Psychologist) which you claimed to be in two weeks ago on this blog (instead of a quitter in his education pursuits cab driver) its foolish chest thumping without clueing the audience in on what your subject and your argument actually was? What is the importance of that to me or anyone here for that matter...are you claiming to be a historian now? is that one of your PHDs Cab Driver?
The Obama orchestrated bailout for GM was anything but successful. He fired Waggoner, put in the present clown as his lackey CEO who promptly announced that he knew nothing about automobiles, but he had prior business experience (that was good, as the Executive in Chief of the federal government nationized GM Corporation hasn't had any of that). He sold the former stock and bond holder down the river to benefit his friends in the Union, and packed the Corporation's Board of Director's with Government and Union Representatives. And not a single step was taken to address the still looming problem of the GM employees' present and past soon to go bankrupt unsustainable pension fund, which hang like an albatross over this now 60% government owned corporation, woth the union employees also holding an outsized share. And now the $80 billion instock we bought is down by over a half in value from its IPO rollout price, and shrinking further. And the $24 billion of that invested in now useless warrents is gone, lost tax payers money as those TARP borrowed funds need to have the interest and principle repaid by the tax payers; the Obama route has already cost the tax payer over $50 billion of sure losses. And what did we get? A nationalized corporation that is financially shaky to this day, with only 50,000 employees in the US, but 220,000 in Canada, Mexico, and Europe. And one that no one want's to buy stocks and bonds from to help finance, as they would be in limited partnership to the present honchos the federal govenment and Unions thst robbed the former stock and bond holder of their rights.
Better the route that was proposed by Romney, as well as many others, which was to restructure and heal through a Court supervised bankruptcy procedure, and which GM had made application to, under Section 11 common bankruptcy law, that would protect all stakeholder's rights. But no...here came Obama and the Federal Govenment Executive fiat ourside of this nation's laws not to make LOANS, but to actually take over that formely 100% Public Corporation in the open market.
So who is the historian now, Cab Driver?
And as to your continued nonsense about the carbon dioxide "green house gases" caused global warming, has it ever crossed your mind to wonder how the earths great cataclysmic volcanic period that surely poured extremes amounts of cabbon dioxide and "green house gasses" subsequently usherd in the greatest of the cooling periods known as the Ice Age? Besides the previous scientific arguments I have offered up to you, such as all vegative life on planet earth relies on carbon disoide for life, gowth, and reproductive ability, including our clansing and useful forests, and our human and animal life sustaining food plants, the El Nino and La Nina air cycles due to the Pacific and Indian oceans, and the present earth's rotation around the sun's cycle that is currently bringing us to our closest point to that source or radiant heat.
Had enough science and history for tonight, loser?
You argued against women's rights when you supported the Republican Platform... You should read it, seriously.
And those slurs against Sandra Fluke were word-for-word with the Humbaugh's...
Your suppressed anger at women is as readily apparent to others as your racism, and you're in utter denial about both.
You're also using chemistry and a silly shell game to argue against Global Warming, Fuzzy.... It's a matter of physics... Larger molecules such as carbon dioxide--and methane--reflect sunlight in a manner that it remains "diffused" within the confines of our planet's atmosphere rather than being reflected back out into space. The energy is retained as thermal energy. That per the work PhD physicist in my crowd who was very nice and diplomatic when he corrected me on the matter...
I wish Mitt Romney should have included this in last night's speech "If you want me to keep the debt collectors and repo agents off your back in the next 4 yrs, vote for me I'll show you the money". That would have been super effective but again that's just me.
Everything you need to know about Mitt Romney
In the most important speech of his life, accepting his party’s nomination to be President of the United States at the Republican National Convention, before millions of onlookers and viewers, Mitt Romney stood up and told a bald-faced lie. It wasn’t a little lie to protect his or someone else’s feelings or reputation: it was a lie about an extraordinarily important policy matter: taxes. He said that President Obama had raised taxes, which is opposite of the truth. Romney is the man who will not release his own taxes, and who is selling himself as a businessman who has the experience and knowledge needed to fix the economy. So what would you get in the White House if you vote for such a man? A lying, dishonest businessman, tax-cheat. That’s what he demonstrated in his acceptance speech. He’d “fix” the economy alright: he’d fix it for himself and his wealthy friends.
The stories are coming out now... The New York Times carried the story of how he claimed Republicans supported the President and wanted him to succeed in 2008...
And then there's this Rolling Stone piece that has a whole lot more weight than that silly mockumentary that they're hyping about President Obama with some nonsensical projections about the future. Man, crazy people do that... Oh, wait...
http://m.rollingstone.com/?redirurl=/politics/news/the-federal-bailout-that-saved-mitt-romney-20120829
Mitt Romney likes to say he won't "apologize" for his success in business. But what he never says is "thank you" – to the American people – for the federal bailout of Bain & Company that made so much of his outsize wealth possible.
According to the candidate's mythology, Romney took leave of his duties at the private equity firm Bain Capital in 1990 and rode in on a white horse to lead a swift restructuring of Bain & Company, preventing the collapse of the consulting firm where his career began. When The Boston Globe reported on the rescue at the time of his Senate run against Ted Kennedy, campaign aides spun Romney as the wizard behind a "long-shot miracle," bragging that he had "saved bank depositors all over the country $30 million when he saved Bain & Company."
In fact, government documents on the bailout obtained by Rolling Stone show that the legend crafted by Romney is basically a lie. The federal records, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, reveal that Romney's initial rescue attempt at Bain & Company was actually a disaster – leaving the firm so financially strapped that it had "no value as a going concern." Even worse, the federal bailout ultimately engineered by Romney screwed the FDIC – the bank insurance system backed by taxpayers – out of at least $10 million. And in an added insult, Romney rewarded top executives at Bain with hefty bonuses at the very moment that he was demanding his handout from the feds.
One of the horrors of the impact of FAUX Noise on people is that the repeated lies "immunize" people and blunt their critical thinking skills. They simply assume both sides are lying, when factual evidence is available for those who will spend the time and effort.
People are always hollering about the "liberal bias" at the NY Times, but I wanted to throw up this morning at a piece that accused MSNBC of "discovering" the same "business truth" that Fox "uses," namely that there's money to me made in "telling viewers what they want to hear."
The penalties written into the ObamaCare act are now called what Obama sterenuously denied were taxes, taxes indeed. And included also is the 3.4% increase in payroll taxes (formerly only for Social Security and Medicare individividal account building paid into their Trust Funds). And for those lucky enough to have a profession or a business that leads to an income of $200,000, or sells stock or bonds realestate that results in a capital gain in any one year another ObamaCare tax of 3.8 percent of those capital gains is assessed as a tax.
So you do the math...of course we never knew that as in the words of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, we have to pass the (Un)affordable Care And Common Sense Act before we knowhat is in it."
New York Times, Boston Globe, Rolling Stone...liberal Obama endorsing publications all with their decided anti-Romney and Republican slant, Cab Driver. Nice try.
BTW, Romney's words were "I hoped that Obama would succeed, as that would have meant America succeeded". At no time did he utter words to the effect of 'the Republican Party supports Barrack Obama'...but I can see how you might want to pretend he said those senseless words as that means you can go on calling him a liar, right, Cab Driver?. What juvenile sophistry is that argument? You should be ashamed of yourself!
See McConnell, Mitch...
The Republicans have never been about "American Success"; they've worshipped at the amoral altar of "personal success." Which explains Lyin' Ryan's adolescent crush on Ayn Rand that he now disavows...
I'm gonna love it at the debates when the moderator asks Governor Romney: "Governor you've shown your opposition to government bailouts. What is your reaction to the disclosure that your own corporation required a substantial bailout of its own, and you continued to pay your executives high salaries during that time period?"
The resulting blow-up will make your own tantrums here look like a kindergarten crying jag.
Seems they have come up with and are running an old video of an interview when Romney, in 2009 stated "My statement that I hope Obama succeeds in the Presidency as that means American succeeds" was qualified by Romney as "I don't want his liberal policies to succeed, however". And that is the battle line that the Repubican's have joined in Congress...and in the majority of the states in the nation as they hold the governorships and state legislatures, and reject the Big Government federal approches and power grab espoused by Obama.
Hi!
What a show last night, Clint made his own day, he looks exactly as a "Drunken Homeless Man" and we all probable will be in the same way in 4 years from now, if Mormon Romney and crazy Ryan win. Clint once was a defender and protector of the President in his movie, now he slaps the President face, another traitor, coward, that really tells us one thing: republicans are for any thing just to take over, and add more misery to our Country, so what can we receive from some ignorant that money don't help to understand "complex situations" ???...… Absolute- NADA- Zero. But this help, and tells to the majority how Bad and Desperate republicans are out there!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone notice that Clint Eastwood has a new movie coming out September 21? Also are you aware that actors love free publicity, and I mean any kind of publicity to gin up interest in their new movie? It appears from the previews on TV that Clint plays a character in the movie who acts like a rambling old man and that is the same character he played at the Republican Convention. In the preview of the movie, Clint's "daughter" is worried about his erratic behavior and suggests that her "father" Clint may be succumbing to the maladies of old age. This is the same rational that some in the media are giving to explain Clint's rambling monologue during his skit at the convention this morning. Why else would Clint play a rambling old man character during prime time at the Republican Convention? He is a brilliant actor and director and wants everyone to talk about him so he will get lots of free publicity.
Technically it worked well juxtaposed to the 60s in age Romney coming on stage with his serious demeanor and Presidential stature....especially after the parade of young, talanted, and racially, ethnically and gender diverse "on the deep bench" Republican government officials to the podium earlier that night, and in the two days pror. That worked very well.
Romney's demeanor?
I don't know what I said, but I stand behind it whatever it was.
What to you mean what I'm saying now isn't what I said? BTW, where'd these lousy cookies come from...
I'm looking out the backside of #10 Downing Street.
The Brits really would've rather waited until after you were elected to try to plant your lips on the PM"s hiney. And there was the matter of that bit of indiscretion about meeting with the head of MI6...
Grandpa will defend Romney not mentioning Afghanistan in his acceptance speech, but overlook that gaffe...
Praise the Lord and pass the Etch-a-Sketch.
I've answered your nonsence you insist on repeating here as your last resort on prior posts dealing with those subjects..as long as you are reaching awkardly to the past trials and tribulations with a hostile leftist OBAMA idolizing media..check the archives folks for post topics addressing those subject raised above by this inconsequential ignorant fool. And attempting to deny that Romney is a serious man with a history of remarkable success in all aspects of his life and public service, and a sober man all his life at that, and also deny that the economy, the Unemployment situation, and the nations troubling fiscal situation are THE ISSUES OF PROMINANCE in this election, gets you the horses ass award of the month, Cab Driver. It's all leftwingnut babble, all the time with you, loser!
