Lawrence again joined msnbc's Martin Bashir this afternoon to discuss Mitt Romney's big speech tonight. At the time, Romney was on-stage doing a walk-through to get used to the room.
As for how Romney will do this evening, Lawrence told Martin he wondered last night if "Mitt Romney can rise to the Paul Ryan level... I'd be very surprised if he can do it, tonight."

"One Term More" a parody of Les Miserables with great voices.
If Romney would simply tell the truth, he would be elected and carry the house and senate. All he would have to say is this: I will protect Social Security and Medicare and raise enough taxes to pay for and move toward a balanced budge. The reason for this statment is this: Social Security and Medicare cannot be protected without raising taxes. He could deliniate how he would close tax loopholes and stop the wealthy from cheating on taxes. Is there any question that the very wealthy cheat on taxes? Just tell the truth, but that may be too much to ask even though I believe he would benefit the most from teling the truth.
The truth is not in "Mitt-the-Medacious" Instead he and his party represent the political forces that are hamstringing President Obama from doing what you've suggested.
I trust eveybody caught this morning's Doonesbury...

I don't get it. I found Paul Ryan's speech to be unpolished, unrefined and far from excellence. He manipulated the subconscious of "low information voters" via repetitive usage of well trained verbal cues while employing his charisma to raise enthusiasm among over fertile needy receptive attendees who were also following "boo cue cards" for the benefit of the media. In reply to the challenges raised against his "extreme distortion of the truth" one GOP VIP stated " Conventions are not for that level of Conversation." What has this world come to when the highest most honorable positions in our country are praised for their brilliance in knowing how to legally lie? To look to the "rising stars" of the new GOP as roll models for our society because of their ethnicity, while being told that "their false and misleading political statements" are marks of their merit is scary to say the least. What should be the focus of our attention is why we have "low information voters" in 2012. That question if followed will lead us to all the answers we need to fix our problems.
Exactly right, Stephanie, on your observations, and I can only add a few "addendums" to your conclusions about Lyin' Ryan. Item: you're a sophisticated woman, and this "recovering idiot" took years to realize women are, in general, far more sophisticated in reading "nuanced messages with agendas." Ergo, Paul Ryan isn't speaking to you, however, and he and his ilk fear you and the "power base" you represent (hmm, we might be looking at a possible "hidden belief" that fuels these folks' "War on Women").
It's to your credit that "you don't get it." You do, in fact...
Playing at the "committe of three PHDs (one of whom is a Psychologist)" again for your fake stage personna, Cab Driver?
Lawrence is an idiot
Dadblasted teabagged wannabe gangbangers and their graffiti...
You ought to at least put your age out there, youngster...
Cabbie,
I try and I try to get you to be kinder to the new baby trolls - they're so cute at that age - first post and all. "Lawrence" and "idiot" are spelled correctly - of course he missed that little dot thing at the end. Still - 4 whole words! You need to feed them a little to build their self confidence. Remember his mother troll is monitoring him at the beginning - make him look good for mommy.
Troll? This is a troll? It's not a gangbanger doing a drive-bye?
In honor of what went down tonight, I just posted this one over at Ed's...

No peeking over there. Cash cab time. Who's the guy in the tree? And extra bonus miles for the two young toughs (Romney & Ryan?). I don't recognize them, but they do look familiar.
I think Ryan spoke to the youth vote, especially with his killer line about "all the college graduates now living in their childhood bedrooms staring up at faded Barrack Obama posters and wondering when they will be able to get underway with work and their adult lives."
And O'Donnell, as usual, totally missed the mark with his low expectations for Mitt Romney, i found him learned, personal, emphatic, confidence building, trustworth and passionately patriotic. Quite the energetic ticket for the tired and failed Obama/Biden to run against even with the liberal media's help. I'm really looking forward to the debates.
Bytheway, I noticed that MSNBC totally boycotted coverage of all the testimonials to Romney from Bain Capital Associates, business leaders, educators, Massachusetts government officials, and Olympic athletes from the Salt Lake City games, saved and led to success by Mitt Romney. And the testimonies to his charitable and careing character. Instead, they paraded their tired old shopworn uber liberal sarcastic commentators with their constant refrains of negativity. Obama deserves their allegiance!
Hmmm....

Can anyone say "walking back"?
I gotta give Grandpa one. I went over to check this one at CNN, and they're saying he's standing behind his speech... I hate to see CNN becoming FAUX lite... And Grandpa is giving MSNBC hell for not pandering to Romney...
Hmmm, CBS brought up the credit downgrade stuff... Man, Paul Ryan reminds me of a couple of my ex-girlfriends. They were always skilled at making it somebody else's fault, usually mine...
Adam,
I am no baby troll. I am trying to learn the language of the computer generation. I see so much incorrect punctuation and grammar, I am unsure of etiquette in this realm. As for the comments about my mother, go @!$%# yourself!
Oops! Sorry SL Cabbie! I forgot to respond to you. I do love getting teabagged by my partner! Hope that comforts you. And to satisfy your curiosity, I'm 44. I'm sure that's much too old for you.
Ah no, Grandpa's the homophobe here... No gay issues left after years of being a cabbie...
Hang around, though, and don't listen to Grandpa. He thinks I'm a committee of three PhD's, one of whom is a psychologist.
I tried to tell him earlier I'm Jay Carney, but he wasn't biting...
BTW, one would think at 44 you would've learned the language of the computer generation and try to have a little respect for your elders. I mean Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were Baby Boomers...

ooooooo wuzzums wuzzums wuzzums
Just a heads up - it takes at least 20 posts a day - every day to make it in the paid troll business - most cannot stand posting meaningless trash over and over and over ...
Perhaps you will be the exception - if you stick to stock one liners.
