MSNBC
Lawrence O'Donnell took a break from the TV box to appear as a guest on KCRW's To The Point today on location in Tampa. Along with host Warren Olney, the panel discussed the newly-minted VP nominee Paul Ryan's factually-challenged speech and the rhetoric at the Republican Convention. Take a listen.

Are you kidding me? Still beating that dicredited drum, O'Donnell?
1) Janesville, Wisconsin GM SUV and Truck plant was given short shift by the Obama Administration when after the last trucks rolled off it's assembly lines in June, 2009, 4 months after inaugerated President Obama Nationalized GM by ordering the purchase with TARP funds of $80 billion, and in total $130 billion for GM and loans to Chrysler (Ford told them thanks, but no thanks, they didn't want to give up control of their successful auto and truck manufacturing coorporation to the government and the unions). And when GM management wanted reactivate the mothballed in June,k 2009 Janesville plant to once again assemble Surburbans and XT900 Truck models, the Obama Administration nixed that, as they didn't think it would fit with their ant-fossil fuels agenda of light, small autos with higher fuel efficiency, hybrids, and unwanted by the consumer all electric Chevy Volts. Obama broke his Feb, 2008 promise.
2). No more blue smoke and mirrors funny and phony accounting...$716 billion of cuts and supposed savings coming out of Medicare Trust Funds over 10 years to help pay for planned expansion of Medicaid and subsidies for individual one size fits all bells and whistles and pricey health insurance policies that the people do not want or need according to the (Un)affordable Care Act legislation that in the infamous words of Democrat Party Speaker Nancy Pelosi who was carrying Obama's water "We have to pass the legislation to know what is in it!. The people already spoke to this in 2010 national elections, as that was central to the Republican and Tea Party and Independant voters who took the House of Repesentatives control away from Pelosi and her Denocrats, znd narrowed the control of the US Senate. We are halfway home folks, 2012 will get us the Senate and the White House too, and that course will be set straight with the repeal and replacement of ObamaCare.
3) Simpson-Bowles Debt Comnission. Paul Ryan argued for tax reform not tax rate increases on individuals and businesses and corporations. He argued for for less cuts in Defense, more in deficit funded discretionary social spending, snd he argued for reform of the entitlement programs, especially Medicaid and Medicare that were due to eat up every discretionary dollar available in just 10 years if allowed to go along on their present path to bankruptcy. Senate Democrats on the commission refused to budge. Ryan did not vote approval of the report to the PRESIDENT of the Simpson-Bowles commission, but took his fight to the budget process in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, and passed a budget that called for reforms and discretionary social spending cuts, and limited defense cuts. But the Senate Democrats ignored taking it up, and Obama totally ignored the Simpson-Bowles recommendations.
So, time to knock it off with the phony and juvenile "liar, liar, pants on fire" comments O'Donnell...that simply isn't true, no matter just how many times you and your Obama loving liberal media friends say it! That is falling on deaf ears in the American electorate.
I don't think he's listening to you, Grandpa. Nobody else is either, but I do try to keep them entertained. Color me a compassionate ex-conservative...
It's kind of hard though, like that smackdown I did on Clint Eastwood. Watching an old man make a fool of himself too many times loses its appeal fairly quickly. One has to be careful about not losing to "the sympathy vote."
Eastwood was talking to an empty chair...
Folks here doubtless visualize you screaming at your computer screen...

Check the date, gonzo. The last Chevy SUV on the assembly line rolled off on December 23, 2008. A skeleton crew turned out Izuzu trucks until April. The decision to closes the plant was made in 2008, and the Bush Administration spoke to the subject and noted GM had faced economic realities.
And the rest of Ryan's Lyin'... First, from Fox no less...

On the other hand, to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan's speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech. On this measure, while it was Romney who ran the Olympics, Ryan earned the gold.
So far that link's been good and the lady hasn't been fired. I do hope she has some compromising pictures of Hannity or O'Reilly stashed somewhere...

And Ryan was on the Simpson-Bowles Commision and voted against its recommendations, thus dooming them. The President adopted a number of them, and then Ryan had the unmitigated gall to blame the President for not accepting the commission's recommendations.
One more time...

Rant on...quoting your liberal blogs' nonsense doesn't refute my facts and figures and arguments, Cab Driver.
As to Clint talking to an empty chair, I'm sure that when it comes down to the Romney/Obama debates, Mitt will be talking to an empty suit!
They only allow two teleprompter speeches there, Cab Driver...coming and going...and Obama will be GOING after they are over, that's for sure.
Hey soprano-boy...Cabbie has the cojones to provide sources to back up his talk. All you ever provide is writing that you've plagiarized and copied from another author (the "tell" is still there for all to see) or opinions. In fact, you've yet to cite a single source in any of your numerous rants. Perhaps it's a simple matter of you not knowing how easy it is to do it...or perhaps you lack the essential equipment?
I'm fast coming to the conclusion that the "W" in your name could only stand for "Willard". Just too many similarities to ignore...
Oh...and Cabbie referenced a Fox News link (the second one...all you have to do is mouse over it and click)...do you now consider them to be a "liberal blog" or are they going "RINO" on you?
I'm sure that statement must have made sense in what passes for your mind, Keith, but unless you're looking in a mirror, you're a party of one with that one. Ryan and both Romneys used teleprompters during their speeches. Those music stand-like thingy's on either side of the podium, you must have noticed them if you were paying attention...and I believe there was one in the podium also.
Like talking to a brick wall...only difference is bricks can make a more intelligent response.
