It's petty and it's not just us.
Before Paul Ryan's speech put fact checkers into mental back flips over his numerous, purposeful, factual inaccuracies (you know, what our Lawrence plainly calls lies) Paul Ryan did something else; he had a lot of people wondering if he would finally be wearing a suit that fit. It appears we were not alone in our curiosity about Ryan's physique and his suiting choices.
My counterweight and partner in snark, Senior Producer Nikki Egan (@negannyc) and I were waiting to see if this big event would be big enough for someone to actually put Paul Ryan in a well tailored suit. I know, I know you are likely thinking "but he's a Republican deer hunter from Wisconsin, a tailored suit doesn't fit the image of the down-to-earth "everyman" that the Romney campaign is so known for."
Who needs tailored when you have Costco??
Just this week, Ann Romney made a point of telling a reporter that she buys Mitt's shirts at the warehouse store, tailoring bedamned. Plus, we have watched as Paul Ryan, a very fit guy, campaigns in Polo shirts that could have come from the Gordon Gekko era with sleeves down to his elbows. Still, we hoped for the best and hoped for a smaller lapel and a trimmer jacket . This was his big night.
His suit did seem to fit better than previous events but I could almost hear the words: "You're going to like the way you look" in my head as he walked out onto the stage. But perhaps he shouldn't take fashion advice from two producers wearing headsets, sitting in a crowded dark room with a thousand video monitors on the wall and our bosses, MSNBC executives, distracting us with, you know work.
Maybe Ryan could take advice from another young member of the House Republican Caucus? Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Il) has a few words for TMZ.COM about Rep. Ryan's wardrobe, and really, it's good advice. So, Aaron Schock do him a favor, I know this is crazy, but tell him maybe?

Little Lying Larry O'Donnell is off whining "liar liar pants on fire again", hmmm?
True to form, MSNBC has been singing that song from the very minute Paul Ryan finished speaking, and as usual, disingenuously so.
1)Iem: The Janesville, Wisconsin GM Truck and SUV plant in Ryan's hometown and his Congressional district he represents was the site of a Democrat primary speech by Obama in Feb, 2008 where he stated that he would, if elected, "assure the people of this region and Wisconsin that under his initiative this plant would remain open for 100 years to come". In June of 2008, the soon to be fired by Obama CEO of GM announced at a board meeting that the Janesville plant would be phased down for closing by 2010. Although the President elect Obama transition team, Senate Democrats and especially Michigan's Levin and Stabinow and Speaker Nancy Pelosi were actively involved in negotiations with the Bush White House and GM. Ford, and Chrysler management and the Unions after November 2008, and Bush signed authorizatrion for $13 billion of TARP funds to go directly to GM ($4 billion more in loans to Chrysler), and in Febuary, 2009 Obama approved $80 billion more of TARP funds (later to rise to $130 billion), and the Janesville GM plant still was scheduled to close, although the last trucks did not come off that plant's assembly line until June, 2009, 4 months later. GM management then later tried to get permission from their new overlords, the Obama federal government to reopen this plant to again produce SUVs and Trucks in 2010, but Obama now had a 60% control of GM by purchase of stock and stock options (now worth $50 billion less than what he ponied up), but that didn't fit in with Obana's plans for GM to produce light, fuel efficient compact vehicles and hybrids or the very unpopular with consumers Chevy Volt expensive all electric automobile. Hence, as Ryan plainly stated, Obama did not fullfill his promise that his initiatives would keep that plant open.
Don't you find it amusing that these Democrats and their lackeys in the liberal media wanted to claim that Romney had investment decision making authority at Bain Capital as late as 2002 when he clearly left in Feb, 1999, but now want to deny that Obama had anything to do with that GM plant closing (or 7 others that close) after he was elected and inaugerated, and still has not followed up on his promise as that plant is simply sitting on standby for possible reactivation? So who is lying now! What a crock!
Item: Medicare...there is no argument...the Republicans and the Tea Party movement won the argument in 2010 that ObamaCare took $500 billion then out of Medicare Trust Funds to use for partial financing of expansion of Medicaid and provide individual subsidies for pricey premiums for Washington DC mandate and designed health insurance policies neither wanted nor needed, a robbing of Peter (the seniors) to pay Paul (the ObamaCare new entitlement recepients). That was key to the sweeping into control of the House of Representatives and cutting the margin of control of the Senate in the 2010 election for the Republicans, as the American voter recoiled on horror at what Obama and the Democrat Party majority in congress had and were doing. As well as the 28 Governorships in Republican control, and the numerous state legislatures that are now in control of the Republicans. The American voter knew what the damage done by ObamaCare amounted to, and the damage to Medicare. And now with the stopping of Medicare Advantage (which 25% of all Medicare enrollees chose over Traditional Medicare) to gain another $216 billion from the Medicare Trust Funds to pay for ObamaCare totals $716 billion funneled from the Trust Funds over 10 years. It is perfectly clear that only if you swallow the whopper lie of the Democrats and Obama blue smoke and mirrors funny and phony accounting practices would you believe that taking so called savings out of Medicare to pay for OBAMACARE would extend the life of Medicare past its looming bankruptcy dates within a decade. So who is lying now, O'Donnell and MSNBC?
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time, Little Lying Larry O'Donnel. And I am here to see that you don't! Romney/Ryan in 2012.
