A new Rasmussen poll shows Sen. Claire McCaskill up 10 points over Rep. Todd Akin in the Missouri Senate race. McCaskill, however, isn't buying it. Here are some more stories informing the Last Word rundown tonight:

The Nation article asks, "Why is OK for Warren Buffett to vote against his self interests but not middle americans?" Two answers. Warren B. doesn't really suffer if he takes home $20M instead of $20.6M (A diff of 3%) but somebody making $50,000 with a mortgage and kids will feel the pinch of another $1500 in their daily life. Somebody making $30,000 may have to move into a smaller apartment and apply for food stamps.
Second, if most all boats are lifted, there is a greater percentage of income being spent on goods and services than if 80% of it gets stuffed in a mattress in the Caymans. That means more jobs, higher stock prices for Coca Cola and Ford. Lower unemployment does tend to up the inflation rate though, hurting the value of a pile o'cash.
"Inside Romey's tax dodging schemes"...oh really. Seems Gawker, which is headquartered in the Cayman Islands has investigated the Romney's Blind Trust off shore holdings in high yield funds in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands and found that approximatelyl 2.5% of the Romney's money is invested in those perfectly common and perfectly legal income earning vehicles. I have the same thing in my Fidelity, Inc. common and easily available mutual funds that also invest in these instrumehts to imporve their yield and obtain "diversification". And a certain percentage of my IRA is also invested in The Permanent Fund of San Antonio, TX that holds amongst its stock, bonds, and precious metals investments, Swiss Franks. You see, I don't have $220 million that would enable me to put a few million in a perfectly legal and non secretive Swiss Bank Account for its diversification value and interest gathering capability as the Romney's do, so I have to make do with commonly available mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds that invest in foreign currencies instead!
We'd worry about you if there was any chance you might become president some day.
Of course Romney isn't going to either... Word is filtering through to seniors what the Romney/Ryan plan consists of...
Joke posters deserve to be treated as jokes...
Why don't you try refuting my facts instead of resorting to weak put downs, Cab Drver?.
As to joke posters, did you hear the one about the grandiose poster who stated "I'm not really a Cab Driver, I'm a committe of three PhD's (one of whom is a Psychologist)". You foolish sot!
Friedman says we need a new "Conservative Party". No we don't, because we already have one - the Democrats.
What planet did you come from, mik? That is about the most ridiculous statement I've seen on fhis bizzare blog.
Lawrence O'Donnell, you should be ashamed of yourself for your irresponsible comments this afternoon. I am in shock at your attempts to incite racism with your ignorant and careless comments which more than suggest that a reference to our President playing golf is a racially charged comment actually comparing the President to Tiger Woods. How absurd. You must be the bigot to even think of that! Race and skin color do not even matter to most Americans. I won't be watching your network. Professionalism lost at MSNBC.
