This morning, Mitt Romney said President Obama was "running just to hang onto power, and I think he would do anything in his power." A little harsh? Or is it the other way around? Here are some more stories that have been flying around The Last Word office this morning:
- Voter ID law survives in Pennsylvania
- GOP concerned Paul Ryan VP pick could cost House and Senate seats
- Mitt Romney: 'No whining in politics'
- Ann Romney: No more tax returns coming
- Would Ayn Rand have been a big fan of Paul Ryan?
- Why Ryan pick could save Senate for Democrats
- Wendell Potter on why Ryan is a 'dream come true' for health insurance industry
- Grover Norquist, NRA board member, doubts Obama gun conspiracy theory

Romney needs to take his own advice that he gave his running mates in 2011, that there is no whining in politics!!! What does he do whine, whine, and more whining. Grow up Romney this is politics and if don't like it, go home and ride your elevator!! Ann Romney fighting her husbands battle on no more tax returns to be released, suck it up and release them, what are you hiding? Ryan lying about his admiration of Ayn Rand. If he didn't want his feelings known how he felt don't put it on video so the media can dig it out and play it for you and now Ryan is back peddling. Plus Ryan doesn't want you know that he went to college funded by social security that he received from his fathers death, when his family were well to do, take about fraud!!!!
The tax returns are not just Mitt Romneys, they are Ann Romney's also. And the statements by both Mitt and Ann that "we have offered what is required, that's all we intend to offer, and that's the end of that story" is hardly open to your characterization of "whine, whine, and more whining." Seems to me it is the folks like you that are displeased by that answer from them that are doing the whining here, along with the media and that crooked real estate lawyer from liars land, Nevada and the Senate of the United States, Harry Reid.
As to the Social Security children's benefits of deceased benificiaries, all such qualifying receive those benefits as monthly payments from the deceased beneficiary's account until they are 18 years of age, or until they are 22 years of age if enrolled still in high school or formal higher education curriculums full time. Those benefits, along with widows benefits (if income qualified) and disability benefits and retirement benefits are the reasons the Social Security Program exists.
We know how Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan financed there university educations, we know nothing about how Barrack Obama financed his expensive liberal arts institutions for his Bachelors level work, and his law studies at Harvard University, as he has ordered his records at those institutions sealed.
Now, maybe if Mr. Obama and Joe Biden offers up providing the records of his college, and university education, finance forms, how he registered, and what courses he took from ehat professor and his grades, and 12 years of tax returns, maybe Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan would do the same? Tit for tat, so to speak, Katie. Otherwise, Shut the F..k Up!
Keith should check his spelling before submitting. It makes him not just an ignoramus, but an illiterate ignoramus. Keith also had his head up somewhere when the president talked about the fact he only finished paying off his student loans a few years before running for senate. Ignorance is not an excuse for stupidity, stupid!
Ann Romney makes me want to puke. "Booh de hoodee! I have MS. I went and bought me a $100,000 horse to make me feel better!"
I have worked since I was 16, (and probably paid a higher percent of my income in state, federal and FICA taxes than Romney.) I have two master's degrees but moved 2,000 miles to find employment when my wife lost her job. We have been scraping by. My wife is a survivor of 4 cancers, has had chemo three times, surgery three times, and was left by an autologous stem cell transplant with MS. She still works every day: in fact is just going back to work full time after two and a half years of self-employment. Thank God for Bill Clinton and the portability act, or I would have buried her years ago. But then I'm not rich so piss on me!
I just watched the interview with Wendell Potter and the Maryland Congressman. You asked for a short and concise response to Romney/Ryan saying that Obama cut $716 million from Medicare. Their responses were long and likely accurate, but neither interviewee framed an effective response. Democrats need to develop strong sound bite responses. Please encourage all of your interviewees to do this. While I like wonky responses, they are not effective in this environment.
I only hope the Obama campaign keeps repeating....repeating...repeating..all the lies and flip/flops that Romney/Ryan are stating. Romney owes the President of the United States some respect; who does Romney think he is; "Oh, of course, he's greater than God"....he thinks.
People earn respect, and nothing in the way Mr. Obama has been conducting and allowing others to conduct his campaign for reelection deserves respect. Even the voters are recognizing that, as the more desperate the Obama/Biden campaign (the Big Brother Gobvernment boys) gets as evidenced by their lying negative attacks on Mr. Romney/Ryan (and by extension, the private sector capitalist system which they promote), the more the the American people are turned off, and Obama has now lost 9% points in his all important personal likeability factor to as low as 38% in some polls, even as he has no record of success in his 4 years in office to fall back on.
Lawrence O'Donnell is gettin' close to full time brilliance.
I'm afraid Little Lying Larry is glowing so brilliant, reveal, he is about to set his hair on fire as the inevitable defeat at the polls of Obama looms upon him.
15 posts topics on this current page, and not one of them on the sorry state of the economy and the looming threat of putting us back into a full on recession from this anemic economy presently due to the fiscal cliff ahead of another debt ceiling breached (over $16 trillion just this month, and it was only $10 trillion in 2008, and $7.5 trillion in 2004, and $5.5 trillion in 2000; Obama has added $6 trillion to the nations debt in 4 years to Geore W. Bush's $4.5 trillion in 8 full years), and the inability of the Democrats to come to grips with the need to cut the excessive domestic spending, reform the entitlements and the tax code as Obama's own Simpson/Bowles debt commision determined was crucial.
Notably, instead of an open debate of the real issues of this campaign and choice election, we are exposed to this nonsense negative crap daily, pushed upon us by the tabloid media, who if they would just ignore it, it would go away. But now, I see that the Obama campaign is insisting that the Presidential debate moderators not be allowed to ask questions about the Simpson/Bowles commission findings and recommendations, as if this tax payer funded sober study of the reality horror show that we have found ourselves in and the suggested remedies are not proper subjects for debate before the American people before the election.
I like Lawrence. He gives me a laugh once in a while when I switch to his show during commercial breaks on Fox. The other day he was squaling about the 2016 Prez race. I mean I couldn't help but chuckle. This election hasn't even happened and he was laying down predictions. What a joke.
Who’s running Obama’s ad creation?
They simply need a six or eight second lead-in in huge type that says "ROMNEY LIES"... then shows that day's LIE from Romney's stump speech or interview, or anywhere he happens to be speaking from. There is one almost every day, and the sheer number would start to make an impression on those deadheads that don't seem to get it... like those people that sit alone at home griping negatively to bloggers that actually have something worthwhile to offer... the mouthy deadheads...
MSNBC has enough to fill hours worth of ad time... they show him and compare his different ways of lying all the time. It's always a successful part of their programming... Mostly because it's effective, and pervertedly nice to see a liar's lies coming out of his mouth... being exposed to people that wouldn't believe it under any other circumstances...
The best thing about it is the ads could just keep be running... simply rotate them because that's what Romney does with his lies... keeps rotating them and telling them. They never get old, and can shown in different markets and still be effective and economical.
Cheap production cost... high return in the long run. And it will be long, because Romney has nothing else to talk about. He has nothing positive to promote, so he just dumps on Obama, and the lies keep coming. Now that he picked the House bump on the log (2 bills in 13 years – a post office named and a 39 cent tax on every arrow shaft ... well you do get a point with them) for a running mate, they can run off at the mouth twice as fast. Also lie twice as much.
C'mon guys, get real. The people need to be shown the facts and truths against the lies... it's great media, and it's constant. and how could Romney or Ryan dispute what comes out of their own mouths?
By the way.. have a good day...
This past week, all the news were about Medicare, and the bad news, not one out there on any TV or Net Work News, recall or mentioned that all Republicans, Congress, Senate. Mr. Boehner, Mr. Cantor, Mr. Ryan are all for Repeal and Replaced. Mr. Romney Fools all Americans, I will keep it, not changes, and wrote on a white board no changes. And we all said, Yes Sr. 10-4. Ironically, he had promote Repeal and Replace for more than 20 times this year, and jet not one single person Recalls this lie and Contradiction, he also added another worst contradiction: on my first day in the white house: I will repeal and replace Medicare. What else do we need at this time? He has fools all, changing from corner to another, this man and his pal are running a campaign base on lies and errors that not body else can run, only Republicans, we have to stop this guys, with the same rhetoric they are using against America and the middle class. Thank you, I hope may are with me. God Bless America Today and Always.
I just can not believe, this week all the news were about Medicare, and Medicare, the bad news, no one on TV and Net News Works mentioned that all Republicans in the Congress, Senate, are for the Repeal and Replace, Mr. Boehner, Mr. Cantor, Mr. Ryan himself, now Mr. Romney fools all Americans, I will keep it, no changes, maybe I reform bit, and wrote on a white board no changes. Ironically him had promote to repeal and replace more than 20 times this year, and I still don't see till now no body that recall this contradictions , and mishaps, another worst contradiction that I can call the " blaspheme " in politics: on my first day in the white house I will repeal and replace, how Mr. Romney lies and make mistakes and not one out to stop this errors, he has fools all of us, and we are going to say Yes, Sr. 10-4. What else do we need at this point??? I hope many people will be with me. God Bless America, and Protect Us From Evil Today and Tomorrow.
