Romney just finished uphis swing thru Phio giving a direct dressing down to Obama with "take your campaign of devisivness, hate and anger back to Chicago", and described Obama as "tired, out of ideas, and desperate." Citing that Obama has done nothing in his presidency other than "disparage some groups in American society and pander to others", Romney then stated that "we all lose if bama's deseperate attempt to cobble enough pieces out of a broken society to win re-election by 51% should suceed. He then gave additional condemnation to Joe Bidens addressing asmall crowd of white and African-American voters in Danville, Virginia closing with the insensitive racist remark that "Romney/Ryan would unchain the Wall Street Banks, and put the chains on you."
Well, they didn't blush at alling Romney a fraud and a tax cheat and a murderer in the past weeks, so why not a slave master too?I've been a participant abd bservor in Political campaigns since 1952, and I've never seen tavtics of personal degradation and lying attacks like this, in 60 years of politics, And this from the man who was going to change the tone in Washington, DC,and lectured the nation on race relations and civility in our discourse!
Throw the bums out! Then perhaps we can get back to working in a bi-partisan way to get to solving our nations serious economic and fiscal issues before us!
Actually, Keith, the Mormon religion has a long history of racism. Their books claimed that dark skin was a curse and a mark from God. Descendants of black Africans were not permitted to participate in temple ceremonies. They also perform baptisms on dead people like Simon Wiesenthal, the late Nazi-hunter. Gee, I wonder why Mitt doesn't want to talk about his religion.
As for civility, I've never seen such disrespect shown to the Presidential Office of the U.S. Obama remained gracious throughout the insults and disrespect. Palin's comment about the president's cajones is just one small example. (Imagine if Obama made a comment about her crouch.) So please spare us the feigned outrage. Obama has been civil for far too long and was called a wimp. So, here you go, he's talking your language now so stop the whining. You folks can sure dish it out but you sure can't take it.
And Catholics used to torture Jews, and burn heritics at the stake.
And Muslim North Africans and Arabd used to commit attrocities against white Christians in southern Europe.
How far back to you want to go in history, NOT good2know? Is your comment supposded to justify Biden's playing the race card to try to incite anger in the black community with a reference to something that occured in the mid 17th to 19th Centuries? We fought our Civil War and the freedom of former slaves resulted from that in the 1860s, 150 years ago. So WTF was Biden talking about other than to try to stir up racial animosity towards Romney as a rallying cry for black voters support of Obama? And WTF is your bigotted remarks above doing other than the same, you damn bigot!
Biden can't "stir up" feelings that aren't already there. Perhaps people in the audience were beaten as they fought for their right to vote, etc. Perhaps the laws changed but the attitudes haven't. BTW, how's the voter suppression going? No president has ever been treated with such disrespect as Obama. Gee, I wonder why. What's different about Obama? hmmmmm The irony, of course, is that he has conducted himself with such dignity and class. He has been the target of vitriol but that says nothing about Obama and everything about the hater.
As usual, Colbert nails it. His artificial laughter is priceless. Boy, does he know his subjects.

Too Funny, Colbert is spot on as always... smile :-)
It is obvious who is full of anger, hate, and disrespect for the Office of President of the United States; Romney just described all of his own feelings, when making this statement about the President taking such and going back to Chicago. Romney is a very jealous and self centered person and his flaws come out often; like every day; the sad part being, Romney doesn't even realize how out of touch he is, with reality. Romney is not a mentally secure candidate for President.
Imagine Obama coming across to any of us as a concerned, committed American at heart. Unfathomable to all of us at this point in the 4 long, dragging years of his presidency, isn't it? He's been the "Change" that never happened. Vote Rebublican.
Mike, as a progressive, I've been disappointed at the compromises Obama has made. On the other hand, nothing can change if the Republicans had one objective....obstruction. Our gov't is supposed to be a combination of two parties working together. The Republican position was "our way or no way". They want it to be a one party gov't. If they succeed, welcome to the Third Reich.
