President Obama soaking up suds from a beer tent at the Iowa State Fair on Monday.
When President Obama hits the campaign trail, he rolls with a stocked cooler.
During a visit to an Iowa coffee shop as part of his three-day bus tour, Obama got to chatting about brewskis with a local resident on Tuesday. The president casually mentioned they made their own at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and his team carries bottles of the home-brew on the tour bus.
According to Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki, Obama gave the man a White House Honey Ale during the morning pit-stop. (It's five o'clock somewhere, am I right?)
White House spokesman Jay Carney confirmed "there is a home brew, if you will, at the White House" and the president enjoys one every now and again.
White House chefs have been quietly serving small batches at special events, like the most recent Super Bowl party.
The beer comes in both light and dark styles. Carney could only speak to the light ale, which he called "quite refreshing."

Obama better check to see how much alcohol his old gaffer Vice President is drinking before his rally speeches. In Danville, Virginia in the Southeastern section of the state he tried to get the crowd up by calling for the audience to "join us in winning NORTH CAROLINA again", and then closing with a racist statement before the many afro-American's in the crowd that beward the unchaining of the Wall Street by a Romney/Ryan victory because that would "put the chains on all of them!" Well, they've called Romney a murderer of women this week, why not a slave master too?
Lot of calls coming from quarters to try to save the day and jettison ineffective and alway dangerous when he opens his mouth before engaging his brain Joe Biden and replace him with Hillary Clinton. White blue collar workers are now polling as in the high 60% for Romney, and high 20% range for Obama. Apparently Joe is not a big draw with blue collar voters, and he just made a racially insensitive remark in his attempt at cuteness with black voters in Virginia. Of course, he just can't help himself.
Romney wasn't going to get the Mormon vote anyway, Grandpa. Or many of the teatotaling Southern Baptists either...
White males make up 40% of the electorate, BTW... As the author of this piece notes, "Old White Dudes aren't enough anymore."

The voices in Grandpa's head tell him not to trust my Google search stuff, so I'll put a few bits out here in bold...
• Women being majority of the population, Romney would have been wise to tone down the rhetoric about ending Planned Parenthood.
• The Latino vote swung heavily to Obama in 2008. So did the youth vote. The largest growing youth demographic by far? You guessed it. Romney has insulted this group with his talk of “self-deportation” and using the insane “stop and identify” Arizona statute as a model for federal law.
•As the former governor of a liberal state, Romney once held liberal views. He advocated gay rights, professed to believe in global warming and implemented an affordable and relatively socialized health care system that still covers 98% of the state’s citizens. Candidate (for U.S. Senate) Romney even tried to run to the left of his opponent, liberal lion Ted Kennedy in 1994.
• John McCain saw 23 years of Romney’s tax returns when vetting him to be on the 2008 ticket. He went with Sarah Palin instead.
• The giant hole left by the Bush administration will take a generation to dig out of. All Republican criticisms of Obama's economy policy can be debunked as pure politics when one takes a look at the numbers in 2008 and 2009.
• The tax cuts for the rich that Romney favors would again add to the deficit without helping the middle class at all.
• The stimulus and TARP, first enacted by Bush, were not as successful as they could have been if not for the substantial tax cuts that were included
• Electoral Math: Romney has a set of dominoes that must fall in the following order: Florida (29 electoral votes), Virginia (13) and Ohio (18).
That's enough. The selection of Paul Ryan took Florida off the map, and there's an independent in Virginia who will add that one to the President's numbers...
"Romney wont get the Mormon's votes, or those of tea totaling Southern Baptists"? Do you know something there no one else does, or did you mean, perhaps, Obama wouldn't get those votes.
Ryan brings a lot of interest to the whole mid-west region, not just Wisconsin which I assure you will no longer poll as leaning to Obama. and as to some other states, like Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Iowa, and possibly even Minnessotta, we will see if his influence helps the ticket there.
Don't believe that nonsense about Florida. Seniors are all for the Romney ticket, and with the hard hitting campaign of truth just mounted on Obama's stealing of $700 billion from Medicare to fund ObamaCare, there will be no defection over an explained needed attempt to save Medicare from further immediate thefts of that magnitude by Obama, and the dangers of his 15 man health care rationing commission to be underway restricting seniors' medical procedures to find the supposed $500 billion in waste and fraud Obama needs to dig up to make up for $500 billion of those stollen trust funds, along with the $200 billion he stole by ending Medicare Advantage private health insurance policy provisions of coverage ("if you like your health insurance you can keep it"..yeah right, unless you are a senior formerly covered by Medicare Advantage policies).
Then with Obama's press secretary claiming "there is time still for sanctions and diplomacy" comment to the notice given by Isreal to Obama that he must state by Septmber 25th in no uncertain terms that he will authorize use of military force to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon in support of Isreal military air strikes, if he tries to mamby pamby around that he loses the once counted as leaning Democrat Jewish vote. Don't count Florida in Obama's collumn yet, Cab Driver.
As to the women's vote, Romney is leading Obama amongst married women and senior women, and they are the most apt to get out to the voting booths on election day.
As to the Hispanic vote, a lot of that cancells each other out. California and Texas have the largest concentrations of hispanic residents, and while California goes Democrat, Texas and Arizona (no friendly state for Obama) will go for Romney, hence the electoral votes of those state's hispanic voters are a wash.
And with the black and hispanic and catholic community voters, Obama's gay marriage vocal support and for the latter, his attempts to coerce the church over health coverage provisions thru ObamaCare regulations for oral contraceptives, surgical sterialization, and abortion coverage will eat deeply into those traditionally Democrat Party voting bloc. Add to that the black citizens of Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Southern Ohio who are suffering economically with white citizens of those states from the Obama EPA War on Coal, and that's more formerly sure votes lost. Of course, we know how West virginia, former home of Democrat Senator's Jay Rockfeller and Robert E. Byrd, they voted in the primary this year for a fellon in a Texas prison over Obama for the damage he has done to their state's economy.
This ain't 2008 Cab Driver. Your manipulative, JIVE TALKING BOY in the White House is on his way back to Chicago, as he can't defend his record of utter failure, and with his attacking gutter campaign, he is quickly losing his likability factor. His charm has run thin, Cab Driver, and he can't run on vapid language of "hope and change" this year! He's a dead man walking as to his re-election chances!
Whoops... That brain cramp you brought to the board earlier is infectious...
But my words were enough you had to don your KKK hood, racist....
You wasted your career trying to help disabled vets... You should've been a used car salesman... Romney leading among senior women after the Paul Ryan selection? Right...
Go see that plastic surgeon about another nose job, Pinocchio...
Immediate polls taken by USA Gallop and Rasmussen before and after say so, Cab Driver.
And what's that nonsense about racism and the KKK garb? Nothing racist in my remarks; I'm just citing my old favorite Disco group, The Bee Gees there, from their hit song JIVE TALKING! If you see a racist remark there, its in your conception, Cab Driver. Remember, the the words of Henry David Thoreau (also a stalwart philospher of individualism, self reliance, and taking respondibility for one's actions, just as Ayn Rand was): "Remember, it is always the first person that is speaking!".
Keith Longey - you sure got the right name. I mean, you can write more "longey" b/s than most people I know.
I am not going to dignify your remarks with a response. I think SL Cabble hit your nail right on your racist head.
I will be fair to you. I don't think Paul Ryan does one thing to help Mitt Romney - even Mitt Romney's secret money will not help Mitt Romney. Even his wife, with her very pretty business horse can help Mitt Romney and I will tell you why. Obama is going to win.
My advice, pure and simple - stick your head back in your hood and stay as blind tomorrow as you are today.
Obama is a real person. Obama is not a cut out doll; following the lead of those rich Koch brothers who want to run America - cuz that's whose gonna run it with Mitt. Actually, their boy is Ryan - they don't care one wit about Mitt.
No my friend - you are so wrong - I don't know how you can right yourself up.
VOTE OBAMA
And just what kind of message was Biden stating when he said the words to the 500 to 600 black voters in the rally: ..."and put the chains back on you?" Playing the race card to incite anger in the black community...just as the Obama camp unjustly played the race card on Bill Clinton accompanying Hillary Clinton in the days leading up to the all important South Carolina primary as her remarked that Jesse Jackson had done well in South Carolina, and he expected Barrack Obama would do well there too when asked by a reporter on how he saw the outcome of the primary in that state. Obama's campaign cried racist there too, and they are trying to trot out that old tactic on Romney/Ryan now, as they desparately need the votes to make up for what they lost in the Gay Marriage support and the failed eonomy over the past 4 years. The very words out of their mouths was that the Repuplican base is fired up, and they needed to get their base base fired up too!
When you've observed politics thru something other than this network's distorted lens. and done so for as long as I have, you can speak with the clarity and authority that I do, Sam. Snd today, as the apoligist on MSNBC are trying to undo the damage Biden did with that playing of the race card yesterday; I watched Andrea Mitchell smile sweetly into the camera today and flat out lie saying that Biden said "UNCHAIN you'all", and not the "put the chains BACK on you'all" to the 500 to 600 black voters there. It's despicable politics, and this network is mired in it, just like every attack that has sickened former Obama supporters like ex-President Bill Clinton and ex-Gov Ed Randell and Gov Patrick Duval and Major Cory Booker, well though of Democrats all.
And every time it occurs, and is repeated here, I will be calling it out for the trash JIVE TALKING that it is!
Hey, look at our Muslim president drinking a beer during Ramadan...said no one in their right mind ever!
Keith Longey - apparently the dumbing down of America by the GOP has realized unmitigated success with you. You regurgitate what you obviously hear on FOX channel without even a cursory attempt to check the veracity of what is being spewed, and drone on with the claptrap that defines the misinformed, under-informed, bigoted FOX viewer. And then, if there is any doubt as to your intellectual level, one need only take notice of the grammar school level of your writing. If the unthinkable should happen and the S/S ticket is successful in November, I fully expect to read invectives and pathetic whining from you as you realize that you were sold a bill of goods. The GOP has handed you a gun and you are obediently shooting yourself in the foot. Congratulations.
