Is the reason Mitt Romney won't put out his taxes that Mitt Romney has waited too long to release his taxes?

With less than three months to election day, the Romney campaign has passed the "point of no return," as one Republican operative close to the campaign put it, beyond which there isn't enough time for the media to digest the tax returns before the public starts to pay attention to the race.
"The complaining for more and more returns and the stories about how rich he is get old after a few weeks, but there aren't a few weeks left," the operative said. "Now we've got to keep doing what we're doing and hope it isn't too painful."

It would appear Mitt Romney will remain reliably un-Presidential.
President Obama and Romney agreed that the tax returns and the college transcripts will remain sealed. Now it's back to talking about real issues like jobs and economy because unemployment went up at 8.3%, gas prices has gone up to $3.89 and our country is going to hell.
What's wrong with that "conspiracy," Cindy, is that Obama's transcripts were never sealed.

A: No. Many records that presidential candidates don’t ordinarily release do remain confidential, but they are not “sealed” by a court. The 16 claims in a widely distributed graphic are mostly false or distorted.
I'm doubtful you'll read the deunkings of all of the smears the turd tossers have lobbed against the President and the First Lady; it would be a little too overwhelming and paradigm-shattering. Of course I do suspect the Obama campaign is quite content with Mitt's refusal to release his tax returns.
The idea that any Obama record is “sealed” is a falsehood, to start. The word "sealed when applied to documents ordinarily refers to records that would normally be public, but that a judge has ruled cannot be released without the court’s permission. Common examples of truly “sealed” documents include records of crimes committed as a juvenile or records of adoptions. None of the claims in this message refers to records actually “sealed” in that usual sense.
Obama’s college records are not “sealed” by a court order, as this graphic would have you believe. It would be illegal under federal law.... for Occidental, Columbia or Harvard Law School to give any former student’s records to reporters or members of the public without that person’s specific, written permission. Obama hasn’t released them, but neither have other presidential candidates released their college records. George W. Bush’s grades at Yale eventually became public, but only because somebody leaked them to the magazine. Bush himself refused to release them, according to a 1999 profile in the Washington Post.

Michelle Obama’s law license. It’s simply not true that the first lady “can no longer practice law as an attorney.” She could resume the practice of law anytime she chooses. Both the president and his wife have voluntarily inactivated their Illinois law licenses, thereby avoiding a requirement to take continuing education classes and pay hundreds of dollars in annual fees, which is common for lawyers no longer actively practicing.
Finally, that 8.3% unemployment claim is a bit of dishonest exaggeration itself. Last month's figure was slightly over 8.2%, and the "uptick" amounted to around one half of one percent, so it was rounded up to 8.3%.
And I filled my tank yesterday at $3.47 a gallon...
My advice if you want to begin purging yourself of the belief the country is going to hell is to quit watching FAUX Noise... Then get involved in something that will make a genuine difference....
Nice try Cabbie but he did spent millions of our taxpayers dollars sealing his academic and passport records. Unemployment is at 8.3% but actually it's higher, around 15% but we're being generous and gas is averaging at $3.75 however in most parts of the country it's $4.00+. Cabbie, we're in deep trouble, we need Mitt Romney ASAP.
why do we need Obama's transcripts and not Romney's? All we want from those that want to govern us is show us your tax papers to see if you have paid your fair share of taxes and find out if you have been betting against America. Is that too much to ask?
Why with a dismal economy where hardly anyone is paying much in taxes because they don't earn very much in earned income folks like Harry Reid, career politician, want to see Mr. Romney and Ann Romney's tax returns for 12 years (the 10 that Reid is lying about added to the 2 most recent years that are being released) amazes me. Oh, and Harry Reid, who is so anxious to slueth into M.r and Mrs. tax returns has never released one of his own.
More important in this issue of transparency than tax returns is the plans and capabilites for leadership and business and finance knowledge to get this economy presently mired, like the media's reporting of the campaigns, firmly mired in the mud!
Obama can't stand and run on his record of failure, so he mounts a campaign of attacting the character and business ethics and success and earned wealth of his opponent. And with that attack plan well underway and the media covering the attacks voyeuristically Romney can't get his message thru of his plans for change from the present wasteful and Obama's ineffective borrow and spend and hope to tax the few remaining individuals in our economy that are making money, the investor class of capitalists that are the life blood of startup businessess, and the very folks that buy the bonds and stock offerings of our major and minor corporations; i.e the Democrat Party plan to dish up more failure of our private sector that the doesn't have a clue President announced just two months back "The Private Sector is doing fine".
Just watching MSNBC's Morning Joe, and predictably its another morning filled with commentary of the attacks on Romney and the most recent attack TV add from the Obama campaign (shown repeatedly free of charge by this leftist network throughou the three day life spann of the adds), and then the obligatory bemoaning of the gutter level of this campaign, and the media coverage of it, and the lack of coverage of the real issues! Get a clue...it's the media's responsibility to ignore the garbage, and get to the meat of the real issues...and not the red meat that the Obama campaign is throwing up to their base.

How can you tell a neocon repub and tea partier. They think the system is great and their wives follow their lead. They think we should go back to 1776 when, women and blacks couldn't vote. I don't know if you've looked, but there are a goodly number of women especially and some Afro Americans and Hispanics too in the leadership of the Tea Party movement, and quite a few more as followers. And it is a movement, not an organized party with a platform all its own, Rh Hansen.

I would like to know how is it that he could sock away 100 million dollars in an IRA when the limit is 30 thousand per year? That is one of dozens of questions he need to answer regarding his secretive tax records.

Another issue is that he has not stated what his position is on anything! One of the reasons is that he truly has no positon, only what Sheldon Adelson and the Koch brothers tell him to say!
His record as governor of Massachusetts is abysmil as well! Where did this clown come from? Does he really think that he can simply slide into the white house based on him thinking that it is his turn? He and his wife feels as though they are entiltled!
The Mormon religion is another issue: Brigham Young practiced polygmy, he had over 55 wives and the whole religion is a fairy tale and a fraud. They were forced to go to Utah because they gilted honest people in believing that they had gold in their backyard!
Also, the Mormons believe that a Black person cannot mix with a White person and if they do they are sentenced to Death.

"Jobs! jobs! jobs!" is what the Republicans chanted before that last election 2 years ago, and what did they do while in office? Block block block. There should be a term for that kind of hypocritical lying and treachery...Chick-Fil-Atio.
The Republican's sent to Congress were sent by voters that wanted the reckless and senseless borrowing and spending on wasteful and inefficient attempts to goose the moribund private economy by more public sector hiring and projects. They wanted low taxes, and they wanted policies that weren't anti business and did not ignore the energy resources we have so that a President and his leftist colleagues in the Senate could chase after their pie in the sky concept of a nation that runs on wind and sunshine. And the voters want a fiscal situation improvement for this nation that has been so threatened by the reckless deficit spending!
The only blocking that has been going on is that of the Senate Democrats that have put up the barrier to the passing of a budget for the last three years. And the blocking of those Senate Democrats and the President from obtaining a negotiated plan to make the judicious cuts in the bloated domestic and defense spending that our out of control Federal Government so dearly needs as it continues each day to grown like topsy before our very eyes.
Mittens needs to bring-out the tax returns.
