Mitt Romney accused President Obama Tuesday of gutting welfare reform by granting states waivers from the law's work requirements. It's good to see Romney embracing the policies of Bill Clinton. Here are some more stories that helped form the Last Word rundown tonight:

Such a shame it is and will be that I am unable to find employment as a political columnist. As brilliant adroit in the foretold and political insight it seems it is not in the cards for me. BUT! I will give you one last freebie because my love fixation is hosting your show....
Notice how Mr. Romney P.O.'d the Palestinians due to his use of "culture" making Jews better and by extension Americans as well. Culture.. Now turn to Mr. Romney's use of the word term "culture" when speaking of Welfare. Black folks inferred as a culture. In the same way "culture was used to make inferior by Mr. Romney against the Palestinians.. ; ]
What does this say about his belief of his Mormon superiority over Black folks and in total all minorities? They are to him and his religion weather they admit it or not as it stood for decades that minorities are CURSED by God with dark skin. There culture is one of evil according to that religion. Hmm... Indeed. ;]
Good day sir. Ma am... ;]]
Cheers
Romney "embracing the policies of Bill Clinton". It was the Republican Revolution of 1994 when they were swept to power and had control of both houses of Congress that put an end to the spiraling further out of control welfare state, and brought in the goal of returning or promoting welfare recepients to the work force thru judicious time in eductation or job training, with firm dates for when the welfare giveaways were cut off to those who refused to help themselves out of their poverty plight. And the result of this was the reduction to a third of the number of children living in poverty, as instead of being simply the recepients of the subsistance dole of the Federal Government their parents became job trainees and then job holders in the economy, breaking the cycle of poverty and hopelessness that social welfarism had placed these people in.
Now the Obama administration is busily by edict trying to disembowel the 17 year record of accomplishment, in their power and authority grabbing ways, similar to several other intitiatives that the Obama Presidency has attempted and succeeded to do, such as refuse to conduct the laws of the land regarding illigal immigration, and border protection mandates. I guess Obama and his Democrat colleagues in the Senate are hungry for more illiterate and no skilled masses to give out their illegal govenment alms to (made up of redistributed wealth by taxation and/or borrowed monies) in order to have more allegiance of voters for their power grabbing ways of the future.
You are liar.
Cite the exact portion of the policy you alledge Obama has changed.
Republican governors for years have demanded these waivers. They are just that waivers that give states more rights and flexibility. More importantly in order to get this waiver from the fed as it is not gien to any state it must requested and will not be given unless the state submits a plan to improve and/or increase employment or training in their state.
In Michigan for example recently because of the reaganomic crash of the economy the economy is the state was so bad there simply were not enough jobs for all the people who wanted them. Under the federal specific statute that would have meant those individuals who had no opportunity to get work would have gotten no assistance. Thus Governor Granholm like many other governors in similiar situations requested waivers to meet the realities of their particular state. But you do not care and will invent what facts you choose.
Mr. Longey, I have to agree with the previous commenter: You are a liar. If that is not the case, then you are incredibly misinformed. I think it is the former, however. Despite your seeming compassion for those "breaking the cycle of poverty and hopelessness", you must be well aware that your candidate, Romney, is lying through his teeth. Not only has Pres Obama NOT dismissed the job requirement for welfare recipients, he has stated that, though he is allowing states to try out new ways of helping recipients to enter the work force, not having or not looking for a job is not an option.
More news on the Welfare front. Al Sharpton has just opened his show with that gadabout Georgetown 4th year Law School student introducting Obama in Colorado with the words Obama has had her "back", and now she is going to have Obama's back. Guess the strapon is coming on now foe the after the rally get together.
This is the dizzy liberal who went before Democrats convened for the purpose of hearing her a the lone witness backing co pay and deduction free oral contraceptives and sterialization procedure mandates to insurers citing her bizarre statistics that for oral contraceptives a female law school student in the DC suburbs would pay $3,000 for their normal three year education, and that for 40% of them it would be a financial hardship. Poor babies can't be expected to take the Metro into DC for the closes Planned Parenthood or Federal free or fee for service clinic to get their supplies. And if they go on to graduate and enter their average starting salary $150,000 a year jobs (not counting bonuses), they expect to continue getting those co-pay free and deduction free oral contraceceptive and women's preventive services (including surgical sterilization and abortions) from their firms health insurance policies as per mandate of Obama Care.
I can see why she gave up a little "back" out in Colorado for these special treatment of welfare, even if she is making the big bucks next year (if she stops freaking around and pays attention to completing her studies as a 5 year out of college graduation professional student and unpaid? politician in the making))
What say you Cab Driver?
Mr. Longley, You, Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives always have to go griming about in the gutter when the idea of free contraceptives comes up. But that is no surprise. Repressed conservatives can not seem to think logically when it comes to anything having to do with sex. You remind me of adolescent boys furtively pawing and giggling over forbidden porn magazines.
Diane one question how the hell were you able to make any sense of that comment, I'm still trying to figure out the rabblings.....where does one go to find these....intellectuals....chuckle
The bloviating buffoons of the right will do anything to deny logic for their little culture war. Ever wonder why the right is so outraged that a woman's health plan that will pay for all of her other medications and even viagra for men as a part of it but not birth control if contraception is soooo inexpensive. If it's so cheap sounds like the companies would be just fine treating it like literally every other medication.
I also like them saying people should go to planned parenthood for free contraception and other health care services while at the same time constantly chanting about how they want all of these clinics to go away.
I mean really neo-cons say they should go to clinics...???..are these the same neo-cons who want to defund all these clinics no matter what?
So they want no subsidies, law, encouragement or money from the government to go to the preventative care that is birth control because they want people to go to clinics while trying to get these same clinics out of business and then say they don't want to shrink access contraception?
