Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is not backing down from his claim that Mitt Romney did not pay taxes for 10 years. Reince Priebus, RNC Chairman, is not backing down from calling Reid a "dirty liar." Mitt Romney is not backing down from not releasing more than one year of his tax returns. I'm just thinking out loud... So Mitt is saying that his financial and tax records are in order, but he won't release the records to the public.
Isn't that similar to Joseph Smith deciphering the golden plates, that later became The Book of Mormon. Joseph told everyone about the golden plates, yet wouldn't show them to the people.
"Trust me," Joseph Smith said. "There were golden plates, but I won't show them to you. God told me not to."
God is telling Romney not to show his income tax because God know that if he does show his income tax he will not be noimnated by the Republicans.
I will make a prediction: If Romney show at least one year of income tax from 2002 to 2009, he will not be nominated.

None of us are so dumb that we can't see this for what it is, and what Reid says is the LEAST of it. No one is accusing Romney of doing anything illegal, but there is a pattern of Romney doing and saying things in years past (abortion, healthcare) that seem to indicate his real more moderate opinions, and then in the last couple of years, we see changes in his opinion that seem intended to fall in line with the GOP agenda. His wife says he's VERY generous, yet the whole of his charitable donations is the typical 10% to the LDS. These aren't the actions of a public servant. So now, he doesn't want to produce past tax returns because it will give the other side more ammo to use against him. That says it all - we need to believe what he says. The question is: why hasn't he been investing his vast wealth back into the U.S. and jobs? He says he off-shored it to make international currency exchanges easier for his investors, but really, that was all done under Bain and it's companies. Why did he do that with his personal wealth?? If it walks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck....it's a duck.
The Republicans "best case scenario" on Harry Reid's claim is suggesting it is akin to the "Birther" claims... Not gonna happen, of course... But boyhowdy would I spring for the popcorn to watch that one...
And Romney has said he won't release his returns while various "forms" of the President's birth certificate were always available, including confirming evidence of his birth in both Honolulu newspapers...
CNN's Sunday excellant show on Media Criticism and Analysis focused on this Reid attack based on a so called anonymous source that whisped in his eager ear the words "Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years. The findings: the press shouldn't be supporting this story, that the story should instead be Harry Reid's going on the attack on the floor of the Senate making this spurious charge. CNN, no right wing enterprise, not particularly an anti Obama or pro Romney wing of the liberal media, states that it is up to Reid to show who his proof of that spurious political attack, or resign from the Majority Leaders positon in the Senate now if he can't or won't reveal his supposed source. Lying in Congress is not particularly a novel thing, but when the Senate Majority Leader does it for a political gain, it should have severe consequences!

mittstery is the king of secrecy. everyone but rummy must disclose years of tax returns. rummy is nothing but a spoiled rich bully who is incapable of relating to the rest of us. he behaves like a robot and will be doing the bidding of his rich donors. I applaud Harry Reid for calling rummy out. time for rummy to put up or shut up--he is only hurting himself. Nobody raised such a fuss with all the birther nonsense! Pres Obama has released his birth certificate!
Harry Reid has been in congress for how many years voting on tax code changes? IF Romney paid no taxes in prior years, doesn't Reid have some part to play in that? So we shouldn't vote for the guy who followed the law and paid supposedly NO taxes but we should vote for the fool who created a tax code that allowed it?

Harry, a shady real estate attorney who has benefited becoming a multi millionaire from timely investments in land deals near his inside information due his Senate position projected roads and highways in Nevada (and now probably the wasteful and needless bullet train to soon be under constuction beginning far from the major population centers of Southern California and dumping folks outside of Las Vegas proper, a federal "infrastructure wasted billions stimulus project"appropriately dubbed the train from nowhere to nowhere) has never provided a single copy of his own tax returns.
His 10 years of unpaid taxes is no more than a desparate attempt to distract, spin derogatory lies, and try to force a realease of tax returns for the full 12 years back to 1999, when Romney left the active participation in Bain Capital, hoping that there might be some inkling of information contained therein that they could spin to support their attack adds on the reputation and success rate of 85% of Romney's leaderhip at Bain Capital prior the recession of 1999 to 2002 caused by the financial assets bubble burst and dot.com implosion at the end of the Clinton Administration, worsened by the blow to our nations financial center and transportation system by 9/11 Islamic terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon using our own common air transportation systems as a weapon against us!
