Romney, who ran the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, ruffled feathers across the pond after suggesting in a TV interview Wednesday that London wasn’t fully ready for the Games.
"It's hard to know just how well it will turn out," Romney told NBC’s Brian Williams on Wednesday. "There are a few things that were disconcerting,” he said, citing a shortage of security officials.
British Prime Minister David Cameron didn't keep a stiff upper lip over that dig. "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world," Cameron said Thursday at the Olympic Park in London. "Of course, it is easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere." We're pretty sure he was talking about Salt Lake.
London Mayor Boris Johnson was even more direct, mocking Romney by name in front of huge crowd of 60,000 people gathered in Hyde Park."I hear there's a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we're ready," Johnson yelled into the mic. "Are we ready? Yes, we are," and the crowd went wild.
Romney tried to walk back the comments, but his day just got worse. British reporters, known for their feistiness, likened him to the "new Sarah Palin" over this and a string of other missteps, like referring to Ed Miliband as "Mr. Leader" and name-dropping that he met with the head of MI6. The American press corps didn't have many kind words either after he snubbed them.

Top Ten Things Obama Has Not Released
As the Obama campaign and the media continue to press Mitt Romney to release more of his tax returns, and to suggest--without a shred of evidence--that he is a “felon,” it is worth noting how much critical information Barack Obama has withheld from view--both as a candidate in 2008, and during his term in office. Here is a Breitbart News top ten list of things that Obama has refused to release (a complete list would fill volumes):
10. State senate papers. In the 2008 primary, Obama criticized Hillary Clinton for not releasing papers from her eight years as First Lady--but failed to produce any papers from his eight years in Springfield. “They could have been thrown out,” he said.
9. Academic transcripts. His supposed academic brilliance was a major selling point, but Obama (by his own admission) was a mediocre student. His GPA at Occidental was a B-plus at best, and his entering class at Columbia was weak. Can he prove his merit?
8. Book proposal. Obama’s literary agent claimed he was “born in Kenya”--for sixteen years. His original book proposal exists--biographer David Maraniss refers to it--and seems to have embellished other key details of his life. Yet it has never been released.
7. Medical records. In 2000, and again (briefly) in 2008, GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain released thousands of pages of his medical records. Obama, who had abused drugs and continued smoking, merely provided a one-page doctor’s note.
6. Small-dollar donors. In 2008, the McCain campaign released the names of donors who had contributed less than $200, though it was not required to do so. But the Obama campaign refused, amidst accusations it had accepted illegal foreign contributions.
5. The Khalidi tape. In 2003, Obama attended a party for his good friend, the radical Palestinian academic Rashid Khalidi. The event featured incendiary anti-Israel rhetoric. The LA Times broke the story, but has refused to release the tape--and so has Obama.
4. The real White House guest list. Touting its transparency, the Obama White House released its guest logs--but kept many visits secret, and moved meetings with lobbyists off-site. It also refused to confirm the identities of visitors like Bertha Lewis of ACORN.
3. Countless FOIA requests. The Obama administration has been described as “the worst” ever in complying with Freedom of Information Act requests for documents. It has also punished whistleblowers like David Walpin, who exposed cronyism in Americorps.
2. Health reform negotiations. Candidate Obama promised that health care reform negotiations would be televised on C-SPAN. Instead, there were back-room deals worth millions with lobbyists and legislators--the details of which are only beginning to emerge.
1. Fast and Furious documents. After months of stonewalling Congress, Attorney General Eric Holder asked President Obama to use executive privilege to conceal thousands of documents related to the deadly scandal--and Obama did just that.
In addition to the above, Obama and his campaign have lied about many facts about his past--his membership in the New Party; his extensive connections with ACORN; and his continued relationship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, among other examples. Obama’s own memoir is filled with fabrications. And now he is lying about his opponent’s honorable record in business. He--and the media--have no shame.

Add the refusal to appoint a special council to investigate the source of the security breach in the series of classified information leaks made from highly connected government officials that even his Party's most respected Senator Diance Feinstein, Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee (and one of the grownups in the Democrat Party) pointed to the White House as the culprit. The reason for those leak is definitely to give a favorable impression of Obama and his Administration handling anti-terrorism matters in foreign policy to aid his re-election chances. Instead of an independent Special Prosecutor, Obama insisted on having two US Attorney's that owe their allegiances for their jobs to his Attorney General, Eric Holder, the same individual Obama stretched the meaning of Executive Privalege to protect in his refusal to cooperate with Congress on the infamous "Fast and Furiious" coverup issues.
Everything in the Obama non-transparent Administration is to get past the election, before the American people get to know the answers to the building questions about his competency for the office he holds, if they ever get to know.
"Source: Breitbart.com" pretty much says it all. But seriously, most of these are matters of interpretation and snoozers. More disclosure on this stuff would maybe be entertaining to somebody, but it's not going to swing the election or help solve the country's real problems.
Hey, how did you two yayhoos miss the biggest scandal of all?
I'm talking "Malia-Gate" suckers!
In a demonstration of just how easily the liberal media rolls over for the Chicago Mob Crowd, a couple of journals removed information on the First Daughter's spring break trip to Mexico with her classmates... Get with it you two! Start hollering about all the money spent on security and Secret Service Protection! Be sure to inflate those figures as well. Danged uppity sorts; next thing you know, they'll be entering the White House through the front door...

Media Scrubs Malia Obama Vacation Story
Okay, Cabdriver Confession: I'm taking this stuff right from the Saul Alinsky playbook. I figured Grandpa was also in need of a spelling lesson since he used the name "Lewinsky" in one of his posts. Whatever would an old man be thinking of that might prompt such an unforced error?
The source tells all. Brietbart has become propaganda central where most lies originate or are manufactured with the intent of harming the accused and all of us who are subjected to their nonsense!
it is better to let people THINK you are an idiot, then to open your mouth and remove ALL douts
It is the same thing as his WIFE and "You people". This is Mr. Romney. The " I'm better than you shall ever hope to be" attitude. He condescends with the adroit being of an inner power that lends itself to this condescension and it alone. ; ] He has an Ora about him which he cannot control. He goes in to a mode of verbally reprimanding those he finds less than. He wishes to verbally lash his foes and his foes being ANYONE who does not have more money then him. He sees ONLY money as equality and money equals status and power.
By doing as he did in London he showed that he already fancies himself "Governor" [president for you yanks]. He is swaggering about as though he already holds the respect of the title. The title of American royalty that must be bowed to and respected. However he forgets his place. He forgets that the royal family already holds a place in Merry Ol' England's. The sheer bravado that this man tans his foe with is borderline outrageous. To keep in context the lack of respect as to KNOW a mans name is to say "Eh! Your not worth my time".. Saying that because you are the opposition party leader, YOU don't mean as much as THOSE who actually hold power.
Again for Mr. Romney money is all that matters to him. If he only respects those with more cash on hand then he has who is it that he will serve? Hmm. Indeed. ; ]
Release your taxes Sir, we demand you SHOW us that you even have any money. Show us that you ARE as rich as you say you are. Because I know sir, that you are NOT... ; ]]
Cheers
Mr. Romney was asked a question by Brian Williams of NBC News infamy of how he believed the London Olympics would turn out (before they were even underway, which is sort of dumb if you ask me), and rather than give a vacuous politically correct non-amswer to the question, he stated "It's hard to tell" which certainly is the truth, and added two disconcerting issues on security that the worlds press had been fully covering, including the notorious British tabloid press, 1)that the firm with the contract for security guards had said that they could not meet the conditions of their contract as they did not have the numbers of security guards underhire and trained and ready to be deployed, and 2) that the unionized Immigration officials and workers responsible for security at the airports with the influx of so many visitors coming in from overseas were threatening to go on strike, even in the face of known threats by the Islamic terrorists active in so many nations, and the known history that those terrorists see the Olympics as a target of their murderous intent.
Romney did not dwell on these issues, he just prefaced his answer that it is at this point it was just too early to tell just how well these Olympic Games would be transtioning; how else should he have answered the question, giving some sugar coated sanguine non intelligent answer that Mr. Williams would have immediately tried to attack, trying to put Mr. Romney in the frying pan?
Worse than Sarah Palin? I thought the rap on Sarah Palin was that she did not have the answers, and did not provide serious information, but just empty platitudes? Is that what was expected of Mr. Romney, or was he, from his postion as an authority on all matters Olympic from his having taken over the managerial reins to rescue the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City from the fiscal tatters and graft and corruption that were underway before he was brought on (at no salary) to turn it around with his considerable executive and business expertise.
It is still too early to see how this Olympics sill turn out! That was the answer Mr. Romney gave to a stupid question.
Keith, What do you think about this idea? You are the analyzer! I think that if someone could come up with a simplified tax code, that person would get more votes. Here is an example:
Why is it that no one is saying that if you increase taxes on the wealthy, less taxes will be collected. If there was a 15% flat tax everyone would pay the 15% and the wealthy would be less inclined to put their money in foreign account. If the tax is 65% the wealthy would not pay anything because they would put their money in foreign accounts. Therefore my conclusion is this: The government would collect more money with a 15% flat tax than with a 65% tax on the wealthy.
Of course Augustus. And it is a known fact that when the economy benefits from tax cuts the growth that takes place provides more tax revenue from more tax payers.
But that is not the intention of Mr. Obama and friends; their concept of raising taxes on the wealthy (who are the job creators and the capitalist investors in our economy) is meant to provide short term revenue gains that they can immediately spend, and also to "redistribute" the wealth thru social spending programs, taking, of course, a health percentage so the political patronage jobs can be increased.
If you want to hear about flat tax proposals, watch the Larry Kudlow show on at 7:00PM on CNBC, and also read Steve Forbes, former Presidential Primary contender in 2000 who is the editorial voice and controlling interest in Forbes Magazine and who is a dyed in the wool flat tax promoter.
Another thing no one talks about is the fact that the recession started with President Clinton. What Clinton did was short term that latter became a recession that Bush got blamed in stead of Clinton. I don't know all the details, which I do not completly understand, about this, but my son, Harvard Graduate, said the recession started with Clinton. He will vote for Romney, but thinks Romney should be more conservative. I don't know what he means by "more conservative", but it could be that Romney needs to do more to set the record straight about the economy. It seems to me that you could do a little more than Romney to clarify what is going on the economy. Bush got balamed for too many things unfairly.
Bush inherited the recession of the end of the Clinton years when the financial asset bubble and dot.com bubble burst in 1999-2000. Too, it was under Clinton that the great changes were beginning to be made to further home ownership for everybody with a pulse in the country, and the fledgling attempts by the Republicans in Congress joined by a few right thinking Democrats to regulate and bring order to an unorderly and growing like topsy credit default swap and other derivative gambling instruments was scuttled by his Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, father of the easy money to blow up the bubbles, tight money to control the resulting inflation roller coaster economy since the early 80s.
Bush fell victim to his charms and the perversity of developing every riskier alternative mortgage instuments to further blow up the housing market bubble to bursting point. That was Bushes great error. So he deserves his share of the blame. But so do most Democrats and Republicans, in government, in the consumer base, and in Banking, Augustus.
Dadblasted limeys anyway? What happened to that stiff British upper lip?
I'm incensed! How could he suggest I'm sending reports from the "middle of nowhere"?
Reminds me of that agricultural specialist from across the pond who was dismayed at all the space the Grand Canyon took up and suggested we fill it in and convert it to farmland.
I think Mitt Romney just wants to give the mainstream media something to talk about since they can't really get to his tax returns.....Just to sort of make things a little interesting.
I'd like to know who what kind of medical insurance Mitt Romney and his wife have and who pays for it? Is it the state of MA? I assume they are very well covered and probably don't pay a penny for it.
Lola - How come you don't ask why Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the other Democrats who forced obamacare down our throats will have their own medical coverage funded by the taxespayers?
@Sully
That's an interesting paradigm you're operating from regarding our federal/republic/representative form of democracy where they "shoved" something down our throats...
I just re-checked the election returns for 2008, and the Democrats won the majority of the seats in both houses of Congress, and that's how the ACA came about...
Most of us don't begrudge Pelosi and Reid their healthcare (although some, like Issa, West, and Cantor could doubtless use some psychiatric treatment); what has us incensed is the way the HMO's and insurance companies have leveraged the costs of medical services; the uninsured who do get treatment pay far more than the companies reimburse the providers. I know on that one...
Sorry to give you a brain cramp...
I object to Ms. Pelosi's repeated and excessive Botex injections and face lifts and tummy tucks all on my dime, Cab Driver.
Nothing narcissistic about that one, is there, Fuzzy? What about your own Viagra?
Personally, I'd be happy if you'd use that govenment pension of yours and attendant insurance to get some serious cognitive restructuring...
I'd even throw in my consulting fees, gratis...
With their millions ($220 millions, that is) I'm pretty sure they can buy one of those cadilac plans insurance plans we hear so much about, Iona.
And Cab Driver, there was no mandate to the Dems and Obama to bring in this perverted version of a road way to universal payer government controlled health care in this cournty. In fact, Obama's health care plank as a Presidential candidate was much to the conservative side of his major opponent's, Hillary Clinton of the Clinton's attempy in 1993 to rewrite our nations healh insurance and heath care funding, which went down in ignomious defeat as unsupportable by a Democrat controlled Congress.
Clinton, mandates; Obama, no mandates, No you not remember their debates on that subject? The reckless spending and the (Un)affordable Care Act with its intrusion of government into income earning private citizens health insurance and care got the backlash by the voters in 2010, and its alive still in 2012, you can bet your sweet bippy!
Botox-Viagra, I see your point, They both do get out the wrinkles, don't they? LOL!
Romny stated his honest opinion, just like he did when like he did at the NAACP covention when he told the audience how hr felt about obamacare, even though he knew it would be unpopular.
obama says different things to different audiences, only saying things he knows the audience will like!
After 31/2 of obama's failed policies why are you so loyal to him? I'm willing to give Romney a chance. It seems your refusal to, is solely based on the fact that he's a Republican.
With the debt at 15 trillion and climbing why are you willing to commit national suicide by voting for the current president simply because he is a Democrat?
Romney and honest isn't that an oxymoron?
You must be talking about obama. He is a pathological liar!
It's not a tax, it is a tax, it's not a tax. Not only does it make you dizzy, but you have to wonder if obama thinks America is comprised of complete morons and nothing else. With disrespect to anyone who still believes a word out of his mouth, I would agree with him, those that still believe are certainly morons, or at the very least delusional and perhaps in need of intensive medication therapy.
He rejoices in the affirmation of obamacare as constitutional on the basis of the power of congress to tax, and then turns around and says the obamacare mandate is still not a tax!
"Since I've been president, federal spending has risen at the lowest pace in nearly 60 years." I guess adding $5 trillion to an already $10-trillion national debt in less than four years is merely responsible stewardship and not excessive.
"And then you got their plan, which is let's have dirtier air, dirtier water, less people with health insurance." - Yes, that's it: people who disagree with your policies want dirtier air and water.
"I'm pledging to cut the deficit we inherited by half by the end of my first term in office." - He has run deficits in excess of a trillion dollars in each of his years in office, while proposing budgets, which failed to garner a single vote two years in a row, including-trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see.
In 2007, the last year the House of Representatives and the Senate were under Republican control, the deficit was $161 billion. Considered high at the time, now we wish we could go back to those days.
Goodness, Sully, you've earned a couple of Pinocchios for your cherry picking on budget figures...
What about 2008? The figure for that year is 407 billion dollars. You want to blame Obama when he was in the Oval Office, but you don't want to hold Bush 43 accountable for anything.
http://uspolitics.about.com/b/2008/09/10/us-budget-deficit-2008-double-2007.htm
And it's worse in 2009. Because of the way the fiscal year is scheduled, at least a third of the 2009 budget was spent by the time Barack Obama walked into the Oval Office...
Sully's math, however, requires one blame the Democrats for the deficit if they held control of the House and Senate, but blame the Democrats if they were in charge of the White House.
HEY FAR OUT!! This guy's an old friend of mine... Seriously...
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/obama-spending-binge-never-happened-2012-05-22
Of all the falsehoods told about President Barack Obama, the biggest whopper is the one about his reckless spending spree.
Aren't you a Moron, Sooth!
Obama lies with statistics, like our friend the Cab Driver. His claim that the year to year deficit spending rate of increase is the lowest in decades is based on the front loading of $1.6 trillion of deficit spending in his first year in office, headlined by the $800 billion alone in mostly shortlived wasted stimulus (NOT) spending. Hence blowing up the deficit by $5.6 billion (and climbing) in just 4 years to George Bush's $4 Trillion fighting two hot wars and building defenses against Islamic Terrorism in 8 years.
Our fiscal cliff awaits us, and Obama is reduced to lying with statistics.
Honorarium, again, Fuzzy? Ka-ching?
One of my consultants even suggested they might've bought your computer for you...
If that's the case, they ought to get more for their money than just name calling and "Because I said so" justifications...
That's all the hosts and their guests on MSNBC do is call names.
They lie and distort the truth and expect everyone to believe it because they said so!
Cabbie - "I just re-checked the election returns for 2008, and the Democrats won the majority of the seats in both houses of Congress, and that's how the ACA came about..."
That is why are lot of Democrats got kicked out of office in 1010 becuse people were mad that they 'shoved' obamacare down our throats!
Cabbie - "Most of us don't begrudge Pelosi and Reid their healthcare"
I do! If obamacare is good enough for everyone else why isn't good enough for them, especially if I'm paying for their healthcare!? Are they royalty?
You should question Democratic actions a little bit more. Your total faith and subservience to obama, the Democrats and MSNBC is ignorant!
OMG ..Romney can't criticize an complain about what Obama actually says, instead he has to edit, misquote and flat out lie about what he says. He tries to imply in his ads that he is saying what McCain actually said just to mention one thing.
You and the other Mitt Twitts should be glad for obamacare now you can get the mental health care that you obviously need.
More ignorance.
Yea, I should be happy that my taxes are going to up because of obummercare.
It's the liberral media tha takes Romney's words out of context and covers for obummers gaffes.
Without his teleprompters obummer sounds like a bumbling fool!
2nd Quarter, 2012, Gross Domestic Product down to 1.5%. There wont be a dent made ib the sky high unemployment rate and shrinking family incomes or a turn around in our terribe housing market and the values of underwater homes in this country until we have a regular GDP of 4% or higher. And Obama will never come close with his ruinous policies to reaching that goal.
Time for a change!
Better lay-off the Nyquil, Grandpa...
The "Gross Domestic Product" is a dollar figure, not a percentage. For 2011, the figure was 15.09 trillion dollars for the United States. What you mean is the "growth rate of the GDP," which fell a half a percent in the second quarter. According to what are essentially preliminary figures...
For all your claimed expertise on the subject and the way you claim Obama lies, you're an awfully careless sort. You weren't bullshippin' with buzzwords, again, were you?
I do hope you're more careful with those firearms you keep bragging about. This guy is more careful...
http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/07/27/what-the-new-g-d-p-figures-mean-for-the-election/
Moreover, the initial estimates of G.D.P. are often very noisy. It’s possible that Friday’s numbers will eventually be revised to show that growth was actually negative, meaning that the economy was potentially in recession. It’s also possible that they’ll eventually be revised upward to show 3 percent growth or better. It’s very common to see quarterly G.D.P. numbers revised by a full percentage point in one direction or the other, and reasonably common for the adjustments to be larger than that.
Cabbie, don't tell me you also dropped out of your economics class. Now you see why we want to unseal Obama's academic records because we want to know if attended a full or half a semester of economics 101. It seems like he missed on that part about the rich being the job creators.
I tested out of Econonmics, dear... I'm one of the lib ed crowd...
But I was around during the post Vietnam-era where the country reaped what was sown with LBJ's and Richard Nixon's decisions to underwrite the Vietnam War with deficit spending. You're hollering about gas prices; head down to the supermarket; it's 1974 déjà vu all over again, and you can't hang the Iraq war on Obama; that was strictly a Bush/Cheney "deficits don't matter" operation. Obama's opposition to the Iraqi war was how he euchred your darling Hillary out of the nomination, remember?
BTW, I am going to e-mail this guy--he really is an old friend from way back--and probably start following his blogs on the economy... Take it away, Rex...
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/obama-spending-binge-never-happened-2012-05-22
Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, an “inferno” of spending that threatens our jobs, our businesses and our children’s future. Even Democrats seem to think it’s true.
But it didn’t happen. Although there was a big stimulus bill under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s.
And nobody doubts that the rich can create jobs. But servants, summer-time gardeners, and chauffeurs don't really cut it in the productivity department. And honest, that's something I know about. For every $40 ride to the airport, I get twenty trips to bars, grocery stores, and restaurants--from food servers--and a lot of the wealthy folk just leave their cars at long-term parking. Guys working curbside check-in are always hollering about what lousy tippers they are...
Hey, Cab Driver. Where do you get off citing the GDP as a lump sum instead of a percentage to represent the growth, or lack of it, and then closing your argument with a description of the percentage decrease.
And as to you nonsense on the growth rate of the deficit spending, if you begin with a base of $1.6 trillion of deficit spending in the 1st year of the Obama Administration and continue your deficit spending at the same rate each year of your unbudgeted (thanks to the Dems in the Senate) you ain't got of case to call yourself the most economical of Presidents regarding deficit spending. $5.6 trillion this 4 years, and rising for Obama. Only $4 trillion by Bush in 8 years, with two full hot wars underway for the better part of that term. Obama was handed a won Iraq War with the withdrawal of US Troops already negotiated, sealed, and signed, and underway. So where are all those trillions of deficit spending going? "Redistributing the wealth" with borrowed money and then hoping to be raising the taxes afterward is the plan there, I would say. And it is always "just let me charge one more item" with these amateurs that are wrecking our economy and our credit rating, already down from Triple A to AA1, and about to sink lower on the Dems desire to drive off the fiscal cliff rather than forego those taxes on the wealthy they have such itchy spending fingers for.
They, and you, are economically ignorant!
GDP stand for "Gross Domestic Product," and a figure is available for each year. One has to engage in some number crunching to arrive at a percentage figure. Sheesh, you don't do any better with math than you do English. That's particularly rich that you're accusing us of ignorance when you've just downloaded Koch sucker talking points in drive-by fashion and then start telling whoppers when you're stopped by traffic cops and asked to explain why you're weaving down the highway.
And as noted, the 1.5 percent figure was preliminary, and could well be subject to revision, but you guys could't wait to engage in turd tossing. And seriously, playing with that Etch-a-Sketch is gonna make you look even ore foolish. The downgrade of this country's credit rating occurred because of stonewall tactics of the Teabagged types in Congress.
Yeah it was the Rebublicans trying to stop obummers spending spree that got our credit rating downgraded.
You would rather chance 4 more years with this incompetant fool we have as president then give Romney a try
You're completly brainwashed as well as ignorant
The “Hope and Change’ president is now the ‘Attack and Smear’ president! His attacks on Governor Romney are merely a ruse to get the willfully ignorant and the just plain ignorant to ignore his terrible record.
obama said, at the beginning of his presidency, if he doesn't get the economy going in three years he will be a one-term president. Since then, we've had an unemployment rate of over 8 percent, despite adding $5 trillion (and climbing) in new debt. Job creation numbers have fallen every month this year while foreclosure-related home sales account for 26 percent of sales. One-third of the entire national debt has occurred on Obama's watch and we have little to show for it. Economists state this is the worst recovery since the Great Depression, the last quarter it grew at an anemic 1.5%!
And as the world watches the slow-motion economic train wreck unfold in Europe, obama's solution for America's economic ills is to tax the rich. But according to Congressional Budget Office estimates, if the Bush tax cuts expire on those earning over $250,000 (what obama keeps insisting on), it would only cut the deficit $849 billion over 10 years, or about what we are now overspending in eight months! Share the wealth sounds great, but shared poverty is usually the result.
A second term for Obama would most likely give us a more debt, unemployment, taxes and a slide into a deeper recession which he will of course blame on George Bush.
See what Rex Nutting said above, Sully. He says you're fibbing...
Guess what: Real Clear Politics has Romney and Obama dead even in the average of polls, and the Rasmussen poll just completed of likely voters instead of just registered voters has Romney up over Obama nationally. And the numbers of swing states that are up for play are growing, instead of shrinking as the $200 million attack campaign that Obama's cause launched over the past 4 months has netted him declining voter support, instead of hurting Romney.
Worse, all the polls have Romney signigicantly up over Obama as the candidate most respected to deal with the problems of the economy. Guess what the declining GDP figures for the last quarter signifies. Watch for the employment numbers for the month of July and the unemployment percentage next Friday. We are nearing the point where the voter will be saying...I've had enough, i'm going with the challanger (Romney), as this incumbent (Obama) just isn't cutting it where it counts.
Your vocabulary word for the weekend is "skewed," Fuzzy... The Koch Brothers' shills at Rassmussen are averaged against reports like the following:
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/07/24/12933159-nbcwsj-poll-negative-campaign-takes-toll-on-candidates-obama-up-six-points?lite
And this was before Romney managed to re-fight the War of 1812 with remarks at the Summer Olympics...
You know what, President Obama does not have to release any academic transcripts because you see his actions, how he speaks & you know he is exceptionally brilliant. Mitt Romney should release his. How did this MORON get past Kindergarten? Daddy Big Bucks must have paid a lot of money to get him into college. What has he achieved? He talks a lot but has presented no evidence. He really believes that white America will vote for him because he looks like them. Why wasnt Bush 43 et al asked to release their birth certificates & transcripts. Just man up & admit what this is really about Sullyman 2112.
White Floridian Obama Biden 2012
Obama's dismissive "you didn't build that" remark toward people of talent and individual initiative is the result of the culture of affirmative action.
It reminded me of the comments and attitudes of people like him: the so-called "multicultural" affirmative-action students I met in college.
These are people who, like Obama, earned little except a greased skid because of the color of their skin. The faculty and other students knew it. And the affirmative action students knew that everyone knew it.
Obama knows he didn't have what it took to get into Columbia, and he didn't have what it took to get into Harvard Law. If Obama had great grades, his transcripts would be in a full-page ad in the New York Times.
Obama became president of the Harvard Law Review (HLR) without ever having an article published in it, a status that separated him from every other HLR president who preceded him. Obama didn't possess the skills to be on the HLR, let alone to be the review's president.
If you come of age in an environment where nearly everyone around you competed and worked hard to get where they are and you didn't, the way you defend against the inevitable ensuing feelings of inadequacy is to create a psychological rationale that no one, absolutely no one, got anywhere except with help from government.
Read his book.
Grading at Harvard is done "blind" via student I.D. numbers, Sully... And Obama's selection as editor of Harvard Law Review was based on merit...
Now would you like some firsthand information about Romney's alma mater, Brigham Young University? Try Googling "W. Cleon Skousen."
Anyway, I had a world-class scholar in the cab two years ago--I know, I Googled him later--and he was fierce in his statement "Brigham Young is not a university!"
Down there, evolution is taught as "theory" (and the few genuine sharpies in the sciences walk a fine political edge); religion classes are mandatory (with some professors lately saying "Mitt Romney is destined to be President), and the business classes use "network marketing" as one of their highly touted business models. Network marketing--aka MLM, aka Scamway, NuSkinned, Melalookat'em, etc. are perfect illustrations of one-percent stuff. One percent of the investors make money at the expense of the other 99%...
And then there's the Egyptology stuff... Ah, come on, Cabbie, now you're piling on... They had a big DNA project to identify the DNA of a lot of Egyptian mummies... It was suddenly shut down (and Google up what Robert Ritner and other Egyptologists are saying about John Gee), and nobody's talking. Same with the recent dismissal of a long-time "luminary" in LDS apologetics who was recently given the boot... Those of us in the know believe it was because they were drawing too much attention to a lot of nonsense stuff that was making them the laughing stock of academics... Like pre-Columbian Hebrews in the New World or other shinola like Old World/New Work Trade before 1492...
Anyway, back to your notion of "competition": The way the one-percenters compete is via connections, patronage and "entitlement" admissions... George W. Bush's grades were the same as mine, and he was admitted to Yale even though my SAT's were considerably higher. I didn't even bother... It would've taken a 4.0 for me to get in there... BTW, I did finally make it through the school Karl Rove dropped out of...
Affirmative action is at least one way to bring the playing field back out of tilt...
You libs are always mentioning the Koch Brothers here. Well I looked up some of the organizations George Soros has given millions to. It amazes me how much they (and he) have on the national discussion led by obummer and the libtards.
Here are just a few:

Normally I wouldn’t spend much time replying to an unpaid conservative troll – in your case – well I just feel sorry for you. Look – as a conservative troll, your job is to try to derail useful debate, waste the time of liberal posters with links to Prairie Farmer articles on soy bean futures, and of course to excrete classic prose such as “Are you really all that dense? Before the flames of passion from the growing hordes of patronage seeking minions ignite a fire storm of simple minded conjectures we need to right our floundering Ship of State sinking in the troubled seas of the drowning debt . What part of this don't you understand? Are you all that dense? Get Real, or Get Lost! LOLOLOL”
What you are NOT supposed to do is to give liberals useful information that supports the progressive viewpoint. I was not familiar with several of the organizations you listed. I checked out their websites and saved the links for future reference – what can I say – Thank You! Sure you tried to give a negative slant to some of them – but much of what you stated was accurate. If you were hoping to land a paying gig with this post – I suggest that you re-register under another name and try again. (Actually it suggests that you may be breaking under the stress of spouting garbage that you neither believe or care about – over and over and over – must be worse than telemarketing. I’ve seen this happen to paid trolls. After a while they want to actually say something meaningful but the troll masters give them no choice. You at least can just quit – right now – today. If you don’t, the stress will simply build – post after post after mind numbing meaningless post.)
You might as well have said “You are all a bunch of liberals who want to give everyone access to affordable health care, quality education, citizenship, and you want to provide a living wage to anyone willing to work hard.” Boy – that would really set us libs off.
National Priorities Project – yeah so we already have government –mandated redistribution of wealth . Progressives simply do not like the direction of the redistribution.
National Committee for Voting Integrity – it’s true, photo ID might put a stop to voters of all parties perpetrating voter fraud, but progressives are willing to risk the 0.0009% chance of fraud rather than risk disenfranchising a possible 11% of eligible voters – Republican, Democrat, Independent or others. It’s just a basic difference between liberals and the neo-conservative “kill ‘em all and let God sort it out” approach.
Center for Economic and Policy Research – I assume you are referring to the article entitled “Venezuela Leads World in Aid to Haiti” or the one that mentioned that Venezuela forgave about $400 million of Haiti’s debt? Living wage – rejection of tax cuts for the wealthy – ooooh I’m really steamed over that.
Coalition for an International Criminal Court – yeah I can see why your panties would be in a bunch over this one – here is an excerpt from the proposed ROME STATUTE.
Article 5
Crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court
1. The jurisdiction of the Court shall be limited to the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole. The Court has jurisdiction in accordance with this Statute with respect to the following crimes:
(a) The crime of genocide;
(b) Crimes against humanity;
(c) War crimes;
(d) The crime of aggression.
Included in the above topics are disappearance of people, torture, and persecution against identifiable groups.
Faithful America – “redistribution of wealth” - as I stated above – we already have that – progressives simply do not care for the current “direction” of the transfer. As for the rest of your comments - yes - they are more or less accurate.
One addition point – Faithful American has a rather low opinion of David Barton.
That gives me hope.
Again – Thank You!
Ah, thank you. I had to look up David Barton... Per Wiki...
Barton collects early American documents, and his official biography describes him as "an expert in historical and constitutional issues". Barton holds no formal credentials in history or law, and scholars dispute the accuracy and integrity of his assertions about history, accusing him of practicing misleading historical revisionism, "pseudoscholarship," and "outright falsehoods." According to the New York Times, "many professional historians dismiss Mr. Barton, whose academic degree is in Christian Education from Oral Roberts University, as a biased amateur who cherry-picks quotes from history and the Bible."
And the corker for me...
Glenn Beck "has praised Barton as 'the Library of Congress in shoes'"
I had a modest role a few years ago in drawing some scholars' attention to one of the Beckhead's conspiracy rants a few years ago... Not content with "contemporary craziness," he reached back into the 19th century for one he claimed was still ongoing...
Cabbie
I get especially steamed over Barton's take on the Danbury Baptists' letter to Jefferson and his misleading use of Alexis de Tocqueville quotes.
The Danbury Baptists were upset not so much that the state (Connecticut ) was collecting tithes for the churches - rather they were upset because the government was primarily Congregationalists and they were making it easy for their church to receive money but difficult for minority religions (Baptists, Quakers) to receive their cut. Jefferson's wall of separation reply, was in reference to Roger Willams (persecuted Baptist leader 1630's) statement about the need for a “wall of separation between the garden of the church and the wilderness of the world”. The whole point of the Danbury exchange was not that religion needed protection from the evil secular state - but that minority religions needed protection from majority religions who owned the government.
Alexis de Tocqeville in his book Democracy in America (1830) states that the reason religion had a powerful impact on America in the 1830's was the "complete separation of church and state." Also that the clergy themselves "seemed voluntarily to steer clear of power and to take a sort of professional pride in claiming that it was no concern of theirs." The clergy "were careful to keep clear of all parties, shunning contact with them ..."
Certainly not the message that Christian Nationalist David Barton wants to promote.
Again - thank you sullyman2112 for being such an inept little troll - your unforced error is a post that just keeps on giving.
Flipper romney, acts like a weathered plank of wood. Stiff and worped. he must have made his money through cheating. No on that stupid can be thought of ,as smart
White middle class voters: check. Married white women: check. Older than 30 voters: check. Black and Hispanic voters that disapprove of gay marriage: check. Voters of all races and ethnicity and gender that are dissappointed at the state of the economy, fiscal, energy, and defense policies of our foundring nation and the negative attacks on his opponents business and government accumen and ethics and his character by the Obama campaign: check. Jewish voters: check. American descendants of immigrants from Poland and other recently freed from the old Soviet regime nightmare looking ascance at a resurgent Russia under the old KGB head: check. People who think about what a candidate is saying instead of just emoting on the spell of the eloquent speaker: check. Small businessmen and women: check. Consumers of food and gasoline: check. Homeowners with their houses under water still or being foreclosed on: check. Independents: check. The list of Romney probable voters in November is getting longer and longer, and the election campaigns haven't even reached their usual starting point, the Nominating Party Conventions still a month away coming at the end of August and early September. It's not looking very pretty for Obama folks, Another bad jobs report expected on Friday for the month of July and probable revision downwards of the already dismal June and May numbers. That should push a few more out of his leaning or even assured voter support numbers over to the Romney camp.
Chicago, Chicago, that heck of a town! Obama, Obama, your Chicago bound! Is the song they are singing up to Nivember and afterward, folks.
Keith, you forgot about the DISENCHANTED CLINTON DEMOCRATS around 30%-40% of them that are sitting out the 2012 elections out of frustration.
