Courage Campaign/Facebook
This is a Muppet News Flash! The Muppets are standing up for marriage equality. Last week you may remember Dan Cathy, the President of fast food chain Chick-fil-A, committed a business fowl, err foul, when he treated same-sex marriage in a very poultry, err paltry manner.

The Jim Henson Company
Commenting on his company's support of anti-gay conservative groups, Cathy said Chick-fil-A was "guilty as charged."
The Jim Henson Company, which had partnered with Chick-fil-A on kids meal toys, responded by posting the following statement to its Facebook page:
The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD. (http://www.glaad.org/)
Or as Last Word Senior Producer Nikki put it this morning, “It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights. It’s time to dump Chick-fil-A ‘cuz they’re against gay rights.”
Besides, everyone knows Swedish Chef would make a better chicken sandwich, anyway.
Wait for it...

well, that explains Kermit's aversion to miss Piggy. Kermit is secretly married to Jim.
Bet Stan sits in his tin can thinking, "are we there yet?"
I've always liked Chick-fil-A. Sorry things have gotten to this point, but I gotta go with the Muppets. Besides, they have consistently advocated amphibian-and-porcine-mammalian relations, so LGBT issues are tame by comparison.
^__^
The Henson Company no longer owns The Muppets. Disney does. I suggest you and the Courage Campaign stop using the Disney-owned Muppet likenesses to push an agenda.
Of course, a little bit of, oh, I don't know, RESEARCH would have turned up that fact. Journalism?
And Greg T Carpenter, if you knew anything about the Disney deal, the Jim Henson Company still has final say about what the Muppets are used for. Disney only has leased the right of their likenesses and Henson Co still has final say over content. So, maybe do your RESEARCH before calling people's journalistic integrity into question?
That's no true Muppets for life. The Muppes are wholly owned by Disney. Henson's say over content ended 4 years ago. Check out this press release on Muppetcentral.com:

Don't liberals know how to do simple research?
Disney has been criticized by anti gay groups for pride days and supporting what they call "the gay agenda". When families go to pride day and complain disney offers them a voucher for another visit to the park for free, not stop people from organizing gay days at disney. Tokyo disney allows gay couples to use their wedding facilities. Other research you might want to do.
It doesn't matter. The entities above are illegally using the Muppet likenesses. If I was a corporation who owned a highly lucrative brand, I wouldn't let anybody use that brand without permission, no matter if I agreed with a political position or not. This is reckless disregard for copyright, and it shouldn't be practiced by a major news outlet.
hahaha, try researching fair use copyright laws also why you're at it.
Grasping at straws now, I see. Fair use doesn't apply here. There is no "parody" going on, and I've already pointed out how this is bad reporting, so the characters are not being used accurately to report the news. The way the characters are being used, it is implied that the Henson Company owns them. This is not true, so fair use flies out the window. If you think this is fair use, you misunderstand fair use. If Disney sent a "cease and desist," MSNBC would oblige. Again though, the point is that MSNBC was lazy and went for the joke rather than accurate reporting. Shoddy.
wow, you have no idea what you're talking about once again. Just like you had no idea what you were talking about before. MSNBC did not create the image. The courage campaign did. MSNBC is using the picture when reporting on the story. This is also online which is a grey area that still is being defined. If MSNBC was selling this story to people, then we would see a violation of the fair use act. Also, if you knew anything about the act, you'd know that parody is not the only thing that applies. Nice try though. I think you need to get over yourself. You were wrong about the rights to the muppets, disneys stance on gay rights, and this. Move on and find other people to annoy with your ignorance :)
and why don't you write a letter to disney and then you can let us know if they ask for the picture to be taken down :)
I can see that you just want to live in a fantasy land. The press release I linked to above states that Jim Henson Company has no ownership over the Muppets, MSNBC created the headlines and Muppet references in the story which links the Muppets to Henson, and you are happy with making up things as you go along. No arguing facts with people living in la la land. The Henson Company has begun to tell the press, incidentally, that they do not own the Muppets now, because this kind of thing is rampant.
Umm I think it's the other way around. Lemme know when Disney tells them to take the picture down sweetie.
