The NBC station in Norfolk, Virginia posted the unedited version of their recent interview with President Obama. The president told reporter Andy Fox he won't apologize for calling rival Mitt Romney an outsourcer and explained why Bain matters. Good Q&A, here's one of the highlights:
Q: Your campaign has criticized Romney and Bain Capital outsourcing jobs, which increases unemployment. You have been criticizing him for that, but he says that did not happen on his watch at Bain and he’s asked for you to apologize. Will you apologize and if not, why not?
President Obama: "Because the issue here... is... (Andy: "So you won't be apologizing?") No, we won’t be apologizing and you know, sometimes these games are played during political campaigns. Understand what the issue is here. Mr. Romney claims he is Mr. Fix It for the economy because of his business experience, and so I think voters entirely legitimately want to know well what exactly was that business experience?
And as the head of a private equity firm, his job was to maximize profits, help wealthy investors. There’s nothing wrong with that. On the other hand, that company also was investing in companies the Washington Post called pioneers of outsourcing. And he’s now claiming 'well I wasn't there at the time,' except he files an SEC listing that says he was the CEO, Chairman and President of the company. So, as President of the United States, one of the things I’ve learned, and we just talked about was anything that happens on my watch is my responsibility. That's what people expect. Harry Truman said the buck stops with me and I think understandably people are going to be interested in, you know, are you responsible for this company that you say is one of your primary calling cards for wanting to be president."

Apparently Obama told this reporter in no on certain terms that the Bain Capital outsourcing charges leveled against Romney are all a political "game"?
Obama also told his Virginia campaign stop audience that "if you have a business, you didn't build that...someone else was responsible for that!" What a joke! This guy who never had even a paper route or after school and summer gig mowing lawns thought he should lecture American businessmen and women on his Virginia campaign swing in those terms. Of course, this is the same economic illiterate who stated at a news conferance 6 weeks ago that "the private sector was doing fine...its the public sector that is losing jobs".
Retail sales report in today, and it was dismal, with losses in all catagories, including Autos and trucks from last month. And that's is the third month in a row for overall slumping retail sales. And this is due to the anti-business attiyudes of this Administration, and their economic iniative killing overburdening regulations and threats to tax hire and hire amounts.
Better start hoping for a change, folks. And someone who will come with growth orinted programs for our much beleagured private sector and its consumers and labor force.

Total employment stayed below January 2009 because there are 607,000 fewer federal, state and local government employees, the Labor Department reported May 4.

I warned you about lying with statistics. The vaunted numbers this Obama relection campaign keeps spitting out of over 4 million jobs "added" since he took office is one of those lies, Cab Driver. The figure is not cumulative. Many of the folks that are listed there as hires in new jobs last year thru the winter, for example, were "temporary" employees, and their numbers can now be found in the new unemployment claims that have been averaging over 375.000 a week in the last quarter as the employment numbers slips continuously each month below the 150,00 to 170,000 required to just meet the needs of increased number of new workers added in the country's population by internal growth and immigration. And, the number of lost jobs in the public sector come largely from the trimming by governors and mayors (a lot of them newly elected Republicans in 2010 and since that promised their local tax payers relief) of the fattened public sector roles that came about from the housing boom years when the ever inflating bubble and false economy underlying that produced tax coffers to localities and states that went into superfluous hiring. And the Obama stimulus plan of 2009 took a big share of the $800 billion and made direct payments to states (and localities) that were important to maintain Democrat Party patronage jobs, so the immediate trimming of this fat took awhile as the public sector did not get on its new healthy diet until after the 2010 election blowback!
Get some education in Economics and Public Finance, Cab Driver. And you too will be able to learn to read between the lines of the garbage provided by the government spin doctors, which would include Obama's Secretary of Labor. And bregin examinging what is being done in important swing states under Republican Governors such as Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin to turnaround budget deficits and reward the tax payers in their states with fiscally responsible govenment.

As a Canadian, I cannot understand the American voter. There should be 30,000,000 votes for Obama from the people who now have health care who did not have it before. That is not counting all the people who are now covered up to age 26 under their parents plan and all those people who were denided coverage or the people with preexisting conditions. I read that the 2% are already paying 35% of thr US taxes, but that they own 90% of the wealth in the US. Why are the 98% always voting for what the 2% want?
Everyone in the US of A has health care, Penta5. They just don't all have use as much as you want (for as long as the government will allow that before the inevitable rationing begins) that a Medicaid Insurance expansion or subsidized with borrowed and taxed dollars Insurance from someone else's incomes that ObamaCare invisions. But all the necessary stopgap safety nets of clinics and state and locality funded health delivery systems are in place, along with charitable enterprises and non-profits in our country to serve the under insured on fee for service basis depending on income qualifications, Penta 5. Those that need some boosting from government assistance are best left to the local government authorities to figure out if that is the priority of their tax payers to accomplish, instead of a political force in Washington, DC. That is the thrust of our Constitution, and the separation of powers that leave intrastate decision to the states, and not the federal government. And the Supreme Court did reaffirm that....there will be no forced Federal Government one sized fits all Health Insurance, or mandated extensions of Medicaid Insurance or internal insurance exchanges as ObamaCare intended.
