Maybe the best thing to do in a crowd of people who largely support the Affordable Care Act is not to tell them you are going to repeal it if you are elected president. Mitt Romney apparently didn't get that memo before his speech at the NAACP this morning. Here are some more articles we discussed today at the Last Word rundown meeting:
- Romney booed by NAACP as he jabs Obama, health care
- Michelle Obama is the president's middle-class messenger
- Karl Rove-affiliated Super PAC revives the war on women
- Quinnipiac Poll finds President Obama leading Mitt Romney by three points
- Sarah Paley's Vogue essay causes a stir
- Episcopal Church approves same-sex blessings
- NAACP reacts to Mitt Romney: 'Patronizing,' 'totally disconnected'
- Texas seeks to stop doctors from talking about abortion

Yeah...I watched the Romney address, that was interupted by applause on several occasions, and ended with a standing ovation. Romney pulled no punches. He stood up and proclaimed what he believed in, and told the audience what they could expect if he was suceesful in obaining the Presidency. Hard to fault that, but MSNBC will be trying hard to do so, no doubt. Maybe they are just to used to the lying Democrat Party types. Like Obama, who promised in 2009 that with the passage of ObamaCare and the huuuuuge stimulus spending bill everyone's health premiums would drop by $2,500 before the end of his first term, that the deficit would be cut in half by the end of his first term, that the economy would turn around and that the unemployment rate would be under 7%. Oh yes...and Guantanimo would be closed! How's that all working out for ya'?
The problem is Mr. Romney is not saying anything that can be proven, just empty rethoric. I'd like to hear why he does not release his tax returns...
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. And we ate our fill of Obama's, and it led to a massive stomach ache!
Maria, he already released it. If the Dems ask for more tax returns, then the Repubs would counter back by demanding that Obama release his college transcripts and original birth certificate. Not a good idea.
I don't know why even showed up for this thing, black people aren't gonna vote for him anyway. His day would been better spent raising money with Trump.
Didn't anyone notice the smile on Romney's face when they started booing. That's exactly what he wanted....he was thrilled by it all....I can see the little troll, Rove, dancing in his sandbox. Romney was giving every black person the finger at that event. Nothing more, nothing less. He's dispicable!
Bee I have a realtive whose last name is Bee. There also was a Bee in the Civil War. I agree, Romney tried to antagonize the people at the NAACP Covention. When he refered to the Obamacare. He should have said that Obama copied his Health Care Law and that it should be called RomneyCare. He could have gone on and said that he would improve it and that it is an exellent law. That would have been the truth.
Those boos and the inability of the media to sieze and make it a foremost issue in their "reporting" will surely gain Mr. Romney a goodly number of "backlash" votes in Noveember as this (Un)affordable Care Act becomes the 2nd most important issue in the national election campaign. Could that be the reason for his smile?
Yes I noticed the smile he had on his face during the boos as though it was the reaction he was lookin for. For all practical purposes he spit in their faces and said it was raining. I'll bet his base is getting a real kick out of it. The audience must have been filled with true Christians because they were over average respectful despite the boos.
Yeah, Mitt Romney was booed in grand fashion at the NAACP as he tried to explain how the nation's first black president has failed the country and how he'd do better. What a joker!
Obama came from a mix marriage, black father, white mother. He is the first president from a mixed marriage, not the first black president says Morgan Freeman.
I though Clinton had earned the honor of being called are first Black President, although I never really understood just why that was so?
The best thing to do in a crowd of people who largely support the Affordable Care Act is not to tell them you are going to repeal it if you are elected president. He only nade matters worse for himself by giving that speech. He will continue to make mistakes. What is wrong with him?
I don’t think he has any way to even remotely relate to the everyday citizen, let alone African-American citizens.”
