What's more fun (or depressing) than finding out how much someone else makes? Today is our lucky day because the White House has posted the 2012 annual report to Congress which details their salaries.
Here are a few highlights:
Jay Carney $172,200
David Plouffe $172,200
Dan Pfeiffer $172,200
Valerie Jarrett $172,200
Jack Lew $172,200
There seems to be a pattern amongst senior staff.
A few more interesting observations on the list: A White House Chief Calligrapher makes $96,725, a Senior Scheduler makes $58,000, and an Ethics Advisor makes $136,134.
The White House has been required to deliver this report, detailing the title and salary of every White House Office employee, since 1995. Check out the full list here.

Not to mention a pretty rich fringe benefits package including a Health Insurance program and Retirment program par excellance!
The equivalent in Wall Street is five times or more, but businesses are more concerned with politics than businesses. That makes sense, decades of watching MBA's and middle management business only focus on tax policy not business productivity. Business active in politics are not doing business, but looking for government handouts, and always blaming government. Just in case you CEO needs to know, his staff and managers are overhead.
Easy answer to your complaint, Rich. Just reform the federal tax code as the Republican's are calling for (and the Simpson-Bowles Commission called for). Not poliltically possible for with incumbents looking for reelection, however.
Hmmm. Total about $37.5 million. Heck that is probably less than Adelson is going to dump into Romney's campaign. Interesting where the money goes!
what's a calligrapher do all day??? ~ won't computers do that now?? Just askin. since we need to save.
