Just got out of the The Last Word editorial meeting a short time ago. Check out the list of the stories we're following right now. Theme of the day: outsourcing jobs. We'll be discussing tonight at 10pm ET. With the Supreme Court health care decision upon us this week, we might toss in a little individual mandate action just to round things out.
- Mitt Romney’s negative numbers are up by eight percent
- During event, President Obama reportedly calms a Romney-booing crowd
- Vice President Biden hammers Romney on outsourcing
- Team Obama's newest ad: Romney 'outsourcer in chief’
- Obama starts east coast campaign swing on Romney’s home turf
- Did Supreme Court end GOP hopes of blocking Obama’s immigration move?
- Rep. Darrell Issa escalates legal war over 'Fast and Furious'
- NBC exclusive: Matt Sandusky details alleged sex abuse by his father
- Pennsylvania's voter ID laws spur debate

The Washington Post journalist wrote his "Bain invested in companies that pioneered in outsourcing jobs overseas" didn't name a single company to prove his claim. And MSNBC didn't bother to check on that before they went with this today, as just recently on the Mathews show.
If your reporting that this is an attack add by the Obama relection campaign, it might behoove you to do the thruth or lie test...especially if you are couching your running the Obama adds for him as a free national campaign service; and then trying to pass it off as news reporting.
And you wonder why the Supreme Court refused to reexamine Citizens vs. United, or why they ruled to let the money (or, the business sector) seak? Here's evidence right here...MSNBC, who appears more and more each day as the left arm in the Obama Campaign operation, is bent on providing lying attacks on his opponent any way they can.
Not having much affect on blue collar working class voters, where Romney gets 58% to Obama's scoring down in the 30s percentage range only. Whatever happened to the Democrat Party core of the Clinton years? That loss is not going to get Obama over the goal line by playing interest group politics for the lions's share of 12% base of black voters (that still vote in low numbers), 12% base of Hispanic voters (that still vote in low numbers), and the 3.2% base of LBGT voters (that still vote in low numbers). And with the economy going sour again, with a new round of big company layoffs being rumored to come this summer as the President and the Congress aren't about to do anything on the impending fiscal cliff coming (including the deep spending cuts in social and defense budgets set in motion last year after the Super Committee couldn't come to agreement on a budget plan), don't plan on that feeble "War on Women" issue to gain more than a modicum share of the Women's voters for Obama. Or the not getting to the polls in large numbers youth vote to help, as their belief in "Hope and Change" is now more of a "We Hope He Will Change!" .
Of course Grandpa hasn't sourced any one of his claims since he started hassling us here...
He just knows they're true. The voices in his head told them they were...
Hey, I just thought of one.. If Mitt is the "Outsourcer in Chief," is the Donald "The Outsourcer's Apprentice"? Definitely some Mickey Mouse elements coming into play on that one...
To Mr. Longey and everyone else who uses the title DEMOCRAT Party.
Democrat is a NOUN. In the title Democrat Party, the work Democrat is used as an adjective to describe which party. Therefore, the correct title should be DEMOCRATIC PARTY. The word Democratic, as correctly used here, is an adjective.
You can't afford to cut back funds for education. Better spend a little more on learning the difference between nouns and adjectives.
The only "Outsourcer in Chief" is Obama, via his General Motors bailout, for which he likes to take so much credit for "American jobs"...Yes, that's right, THOSE jobs are now in CHINA...You will never see that on MSNBC, of course....especially not in the Obama propaganda program called The Last Bad Word...lol...
Rush Humbaugh® started that one, and even the Mittster is using it in his campaign spiel...
Rush has an excuse, I suppose. He couldn't cut it in college, but our guy Longey has touted his education here many times. Personally, since he also mentioned his time in the military, I borrowed a bit from an Internet compadre of mine who referred to a similar troll as "Lt. Sonny Fuzz" after Mort Walker's Beetle Bailey cartoon satire on the military. The resemblance is unmistakable, and my friend, who posts on MSNBC from time to time, hasn't raised a word of protest. As Sonny has aged a bit, "Grandpa Fuzz" it is...
A lot of these right wingnuts are poster children for the sorry state of education in this country (i've got a couple of expired teaching certificates myself, plus a lot of grad hours in a couple of fields, and I've invited him to a couple of after school remedial lessons, but I think he might be hitting the Nyquil a little heavy).
And yeah, that's an ad hominem, but this isn't my first rodeo... Stand by for some heavy-duty name calling if you keep challenging him; with apologies to Bob Dylan, his theme song is Fact is a Just a Four-Letter Word...
$80 billion in auto company bailouts by Obama to General Motors ($24 billion lost forever), and of the 220 thousand employees world wide in the GMInternational Company, only 50,000 in the U.S. of A. But those overseas jobs aren't just in China, they are in Canada, Europe, and Mexico primarily.
That fits in Obama's myth that he is a world leader! LOL!
Does anyone from "The Last Word" actually read any of the comments left on "The Last Word" blog? It seems as if this blog is totally ignored by "The Last Word" staff and Crew and O'Donnell too.
Go back a month or two, and there was big brouha about one of Lawrence's claims that he got slightly wrong about Brigham Young and Mitt Romney's great-great grandfather...
I had to honk my horn really loudly, but I got an "oops" and a correction... Mostly I think they figure this is just a bit of "Wild West Rodeo" advertising...
Of course we've got this Eastern tenderfoot who's claiming to be a real bronc buster, but mostly he keeps landing in the manure...
I was with you up until the word correction or should I say you lost me after "correction" Still I can relate to your "correction" following metaphor, metaphorically speaking. I think this "Last Word" public blog may be among the most well ignored blogs on this site. It makes me wonder why they bother. It seems they built this "Last Word" blog site and don't care if anyone comes...to visit. That's too bad 'cause O'Donnell is the man and this blog could rock'n'roll. But, there's no music in the wind that's blowing through this "Last Word" blog canyon. It is truly sad because this joint could be a reaL RODEO.... Real O'Donnelland Entertainment Opportunity..
I also guess we need to understand that we are mere mortals in the land of giants. O'Donnell is like 6'3, isn't he? haha Gobama!
Gee, you might've warned me you were asking a rhetorical question. I hope I don't have to define that term for you...
I was thinking this might be a teaching opportunity, allowing you to deduce that sometimes they do and sometimes they don't...
It's nice that you're supporting the President, but it would be nicer if you weren't engaging in black-and-white thinking (although I agree trying to address the Hannity groupies with a bit of nuance is problematic).
As for Lawrence's height, I'm not sure that has any relevance. I've got a picture of me standing next to Chris Matthews who's also six-three, and he's got a few inches, I admit (and his blog draws fewer crowds than this one). But my "consultant" on LDS history is a little guy I love who recently appeared on Al Jazeerah, and trust me, you'd be bringing a pop gun to a light saber duel if you ever engaged him.
This place can get crowded when Fox Noise issues some new talking points, and the Koch brudders send their drones out...
Me, I try to smile sweetly and carry some extra one-liners... Sometimes the road rages surfaces, of course...
Part of your alcoholic personality, no doubt, Cab Driver. Mercurial...never know when you will lose it, fly off the handle, resort to hysterics. Goe's hand in hand with your delusion of grandeur that anyone reads your posts for information, or even cogent argument....Seriously!
Willard Mitin Romney, el candidato manchuriano, was not outsourcing jobs. Try to get this right!
As I've established in previous posts, Mitin is a MEXICAN national. You remember, born on the family estate in MEXICO, smuggled in, given a faked up birth certificate, pretending to know French to hide his Spanish, etc., etc.
What Mitin was doing was simply seeing to it that his people got more and better jobs. He was providing jobs for MEXICANS, because he's one too!
And he's being quiet on immigration reform while his family and allies in MEXICO get the word out that Mitin is going to take good care of them, once he's El Presidente.
Entonces, La Reconquista!!
And what exactly are you smoking to come up with a paranoid pipe dream like that absurd nonsense, angeleno?
A good, healthy daily dose of iron y.
That will damage one's liver, sure thing. Make one a jaundiced son of a gun afflicted by optis rectitus!
I like to think of myself as Irony Man.
Now there's a Marvel comics hero!
Rachel Maddow’s piece on veteran backlog of claims not only has political implications, but social history as well. World War II proved that war was necessary. America stepped up to help all humanity fight evil. Evil that made common persons witness skin bags filled with maggots; mangled corpse; cooked human flesh; ash remains of what was once a human being; and peoples who outlived death itself showing skeletons past our human soul. This war fought evil incarnate. This evil inside Germans; Japanese; Italians; Facists; Ultra-conservatives; Nazis; etc. once expunged (no, none volunteered to end it) from their souls and beliefs ended the War of wars. We happily killed without much guilt to kill this evil. More Americans volunteered than any other prior war.
Where did these soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen come from? Many could not read, or write, and often homeless. Countless thousands marched out of camping sites from the fringes of cities and society. Once fed, clothed, and trained, Americans shipped over there.
Strange stories emerged from the battlegrounds. A soldier throws himself on grenade saving fellow Americans; a cook replaces a fallen sailor on anti-aircraft guns shooting down enemy planes; a medic runs through furious machine gun fire to treat wounded; and other heroic stories. These Americans knew this war was so necessary, that they were willing to kill or die. We Americans give life and limbs.
After the war, Americans’ belief regarding these social dredges, and some professions deserved social rewards. The Government, with citizens’ backing passed the G.I. Bill, and supplements addressing each war since the War.
The question to ask ourselves, why must we have a war to benefit Americans? Were these warriors not us? Are we not asked, or volunteer to war for our Nation, but why should this sacrifice change society’s belief in Americans’ value? Why can we not realize our value, and spend our tax dollars on ourselves? It is our money in the first place because we are all citizens. Why can we not have more say in how the money is spent? Make your Congress promise (in writing since the Republicans honor their signatures) before electing them.
After the W years, we all are veterans; we need our own 99 Per Cent Civil and Veteran Bill of 2012.
How did we treat our Americans before the War? We felt so embarrassed of our dredges, that we passed a Constitutional blessed law to mutilate some of the feeble-minded reproductive organs precluding any family plans. We occasionally gave the masses left over milk, cheese, and butter, but mostly left them to fend for themselves. Only after they died for us, did we finally consider the value of all Americans passing ADA, and other social dredges’ benevolent acts.
We now kind of have civil rights to protect all Americans, but rarely enforced. We fight evil, so one group of people cannot enslave, exterminate, or suppress another group or class as in the War. Evil always exists, as it permeates our society now with bigotry against women, each other, or anyone else who cannot suppress their need to dominate another.
Anyone who allows a bloated, starving child die; subtly violate Civil Rights Act, by denying a woman's right to equal pay; vote against social expenditures; vote against Veteran's benefits; watch a man drown to death to save money; not only torture, but tell humanity's children that a little bit of torture is OK if we invaders wish it to save our own torturing lives, and kill more humans; and all the other inequality that we Americans commit to each other under no other name, but evil.
Yes, we have become an evil empire with our Army firmly implanted in other territories sending missiles at will without civilian retribution. And, we refuse to compensate our warriors; an evil that Ms Maddow spotlighted.
The question remains; how does one fight evil? When will we realize we are all born equal because that is what America is; equality and justice for all. We must value all society including the wealthy minority. We 100 per cent must fight evil together.
I spent the better part of my career working for the Veterans Administration and Department of the Army attempting to convience veterans to take the vocational rehabilitation route, rather than get on the merry go round of being stuck in the disability awarded payments routine...recieve a 30% rating, and try to get 100& was the usual reason why backlogs of claims exist.
Better to accept the free healhcare, and get on with a working life to the extent that the individual's disabilities allowed.
This is actually related to the segment about the health care law: Mr. O'Donnell brushed aside the issue of a $100 fine as inconsequential. Times have changed. For so many people, it is either consequential in view of their low incomes, or is even $100 above their monthly incomes. I don't know if/how Medicaid would tie in, but I do know that America today has significant poverty.
Child poverty in America is 23.1%, second to Romania's 26.6% out of the 35 wealthiest nations.
