This may be the most inexplicable campaign ad ever... in the history of ever. No, really.
Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher, who is running in Ohio as a Republican for the U.S. House released this online ad linking the Holocaust with gun control. Wurzelbacher told POLITICO, “I’m just stating the fact that history is very important — people need to understand what happened. Different countries around the world have tried to disarm their citizens, and then have tried to exterminate their own now-unarmed citizens.”
The ad concludes with the candidate telling the camera, "I love America." Good to know, but it doesn't make the point of this ad any clearer.
Wurzelbacher is brushing off any controversy that could come from the ad, again telling POLITICO, “If people are looking to be offended by this video, they are probably serving a political agenda. Unfortunately there are a lot of whiners out there."
Along with the video, the candidate offered this equally bewildering tweet:

Seems to me this post could easily have been replaced by the more saliant information of Attorney General Eric Holder trying still in beg off from a contempt of congress proceeding being voted out of committee tomorrow for his stonewalling on the requested documents and internal e-mails and memos and reports on the infamous Justice Department gun running Fast and Furious program. Admittedly, more progressives are in favor of stricter firearm regulation than conservatives - but a lot of us are not. Even those in favor of more regulation don't rank it that high on their progressive wish list anymore.
A rational discussion on firearm regulation might be useful - but I can't see it happening when the starting position of one segment is that the opposition government wants to "... disarm their citizens ... to exterminate their own now-unarmed citizens."
I have no interest in disarming the Republican members of my church. I have no desire to kill them. I have never threatened them by saying " if ballots don't work, bullets will" or suggesting that I might resort to "Second Amendment remedies" if the democratic process did not support my particular views.

Well, if people have guns for the sole purpose of keeping them locked up until they have to defend themselves when they are about to be rounded up and taken to concentration camps, fine. But we all know that people here have guns for other reasons than being able to get a few shots off in case some Holocaust happens here. And as if it would have helped the Jewish people back then. They would be shot on the spot if they tried to run get a gun before being taken away. They could not have avoided the Holocaust that way, unfortunately. I know so many republicans who pretty much only can say, "They want to take our guns," when I ask why they don't like Liberals. So I remind them that they will always have their guns, and thanks to Liberals, they have roads to drive on to go shooting, they have healthcare and educators and firemen and rescue services, etc.
