Awesome rewrite. Laughed soda out my nose.
Lawrence, why,? Why do you have a staff for the on line edition that cannot even put the clips of your show in the order of the show? Hmm.
PA THET IC. Makes me not watch because the order is incorrect, well beneath someone who should be of high enough caliber to hold the job on line.
Cheers
The hypocrisy and out-of-touch florid patriotism of Willard Romney would be unbelievable except for the fact he is a Republican and a member of the ethnocentric and racist Mormon cult. He has no problem lying because one has to lie to themselves or suspend all logic to be a card carrying member of the Mormon faith. My best friend is an ex-Mormon and the things she told me they believe in would curl most American's hair AND THE MEDIA should report on some of their beliefs. I'd especially like the media to point out they believe whatever the prophet says is church canon and can not be questioned when we are looking at a REPUBLICAN MORMON who belongs to a party that wants to diminish the wall between church and state. Democratic Mormons can believe anything they want because I have faith they won't try to shove their faith down my throat or separate their religion from their politics but not this CLOWN. I wouldn't doubt it if he believes he is the so-called Mormon "White Horse" that is supposed to save the "Constitution hanging by a thread." When religious theology and modern day politics get that mixed up in a particular religion to supposedly have specific bearing on some "action taken" to "save the nation" then that person's FAITH and BELIEFS need to be inspected very carefully. All of the MEDIA need to bone up on what the Mormon's believe since it is a relatively new religious cult and Mitt Romney needs to ANSWER DIRECTLY to THE AMERICAN PEOPLE as to what he actually believes. Most Americans are in the dark about things like "the White Horse Prophecy" and other more bizarre beliefs that could have direct bearing on the way he conducts himself in office. There is enough pressure being a draft dodging Commander-in-Chief without some crazy idea one is the "White Horse" saving our nation from Constitutional crisis as prophesied by that charlatan Joseph Smith.
Cowboy: I utterly agree. Why the republicans have even let this boob out of his cage is beyond me. You would think that any intelligent newsperson would be happy to expose the Mormon cult for what it is, and let everyone know just how scary the idea of Romney actually winning could be. Yet there is little to no coverage of this cult, or Romney's solid immersion in it.
No one, to my knowledge, has once asked Mittens to define how his personal beliefs coincide, or conflict, with upholding the Constitution of the US of A. I would say that this is a MUCH more important question than whether or not he has a legal birth certificate, for example, or what he was doing during the Vietnam War. It is genuinely a matter of national security if his religious agenda supercedes the Presidential oath of office (if it should come to that). Why isn't anyone asking??
Freaking bigot! Crawl back under your rock! The world won't miss you, that is for certain!
Hey Grandpa, did I mention this cartoonist is a Mormon? I know I showed it to you last week, but I probably forgot...

Honest, you're old enough you ought to trade in that Etch-a-Sketch for a laptop.
WWII veterans, from America's greatest generation, get to listen to a draft-dodger from an entire family that has never served, spout total gibberish. I love O'Donnell, but for me he is normally a distant second to Rachel Maddow. However, this episode is priceless. No American contemplating their vote in the 2012 presidential election should miss watching this video. Romney men do not go to war, they send people to die for them. My friend in Oregon is considering what to name a daffy duck that just showed up on his dock from Southern California or somewhere. It preens non-stop, showing off its impressive engorged comb, wanders aimlessly, makes incomprehensible noises and leaves steaming piles of @!$%# everywhere. Of course, I suggested Romney.
Naw: much more appropriate for John Edwards, who God isn't finished with yet!
When anyone attributes anything to God the process if as follows:
1. The person subsitutes God's judgment with his'her judgment.
2. Then he/she uses that judgment against those wtih whom he/she disagrees as if it is God's judgment when in reality it is the judgment of the person who is subsituting Go's judgment with his/her judgment.
Some Reverend from some church who supported Newt or Santorum call Mormon a cult. Now that same Reverend is supporting that cult. Cowboy, explain this to me about the underwear business. One time I hear someone ask Donny and Marie Osmond about it, but they didn't say much. Also about the church baptizing dead folks like Anne Frank, even though no one asked them to do so. And the church views about African Americans.
Another one missing his rock! Time to get out of the sunshine! Get the bigotry out of your posts, and somebody just might read them. Seriously!
I have a relative who is a mormon and I was told that the Mormons baptized Hitler and Stalin to be sure they would go to heaven.
I predicted that Romney would not win against Obama a year ago and I still believe that. I have predicted every election, Democratic and Republicans since Kennedy was elected, except one time. Why the Republicans do not realize what will happen in September and October, is beyond belief. More and more individuals will realize that Romney is a member of a cult, that he is not sincere, (when he speaks look at his eyes) that he does not know what it means to live on an average income, that he cannot be specific, that he avoided the draft, that he has not revealed his income tax, that his smile is not a happy one, some Republicans doubt that he can win, etc. etc. Maybe they wil realize this and nominate someone who can present a more clear-cut distinction between the two candidates. I would like to see a real debate between two intelligent persons. I think that Snaturn could have done better in defining the diffeence between the two and if this could be done I might vote Republican.
For all your ranting and raving on this issue of Romney's having had draft deferments for education and for his Mormon misionary years during the wind down of the US ground war efforts in Viet Nam, an unpopular war of adventure instead of necessity in the late 60s, early 70s, a US involvement that began under John Kennedy, that World War II Hero who bought the Harvard boy's (McNamara, et al) desire to show how tough we could be is no rallying issue for the leftist media, so just how far off message are you, O'Donnell for making this a central point of you anti-Romney nightly garbage hauling?
BTW, every poll shows that the active duty military and their family members and veterans as a whole of every age by huge margins are voicing their intent to support Mitt Romney and the Republican's again this year, just as they did John McCain over Obama in 2008, and George Bush over John Kerry in 2004. So it seems that your repitious rewrites on this issue is more like preaching to the group that could not make the cut to get into the choir, I would say. But yuk it up.but leftist loonies, all the way to November, when you will be saying what went wrong!
1965-1969 were definitely NOT the "wind down" years of Vietnam. In fact they were the "surge" years, troop levels rising from 183K in 1965 peaking at 536K in 1968 and then down to 475K in 1969. I don't think this draft dodger angle has any particular traction, nor do I think in this day and age that military service should be any special qualifying criteria for a commander-in-chief. This whole story though does shed some early light on the making of the mass of cognitive dissonance that is Mitt Romney. And of course the military votes Republican. They naturally want the Industrial-Military complex to continue and the Republicans, in the proxy of the Ryan budget which cuts not a penny from their waste but in fact ADDS to it, have been their most steadfast supporters.
Grandpa, didn't you get my lesson on run-on syntax and that Zinser quote I keep harping on about how "muddy writing is a symptom of muddy thinking."
Man, as long as you keep putting out stuff like your first paragraph, I get to save my best material...
Interesting, of course, how you've blasted JFK and the "Harvard Crowd" when Romney has the same MBA from that school that Mcnamara did...
Consistency isn't your strong suit...
My point in my post was that Romney received his education and mormon missionary draft deferrments during the ground war "wind down years", not the active ground war years...he was in France on his misionary service to his church in the early 70s, and in school after that, Bill.
As to the Cab Driver, perhaps you weren't aware of having McNamera as the Secretary of Defense was critized far and wide by sources on all sides that though the "Harvard Mafia" didn't have the knowledge and the gravitas to replace the Eisenhower/Nixon Administration in their international and defense leadership. So the rap on them is that they overcompensated.
That Romney is a graduate of the Business Schools at Harvard is his strength in turning around our economy, our first line of defense. He will have the smarts to put a cabinet and advisors together that will complement that, not needing an internal group of closely trusted boys from his school days as young Kennedy did!
Grandpa, we're going to have make another appointment with that plastic surgeon for another nose job.
I faced the draft one year during the "wind down period" in the early 1970's... Mitt Romney is more than five years my senior. He attended Stanford in 1966, left on a mission to France, returning in 1969.
In short, you're flat ass wrong. Not the first time either; in fact, truth coming from you on any subject involving politics would be something remarkable.
What a nit picker. So I missed by a year on the Mormon Mission years, but had it right on the education. So sue me!
Wind down years, sounds a lot like mission accomplished. Both had thousands of American deaths after these periods of definition for republicans
If you haven't noticed, some 60+ years the shooting war ended against Communism in Korea, and 67 years after the shooting war ended against facism in Europe, the US still has standing military forces in th4 countries of those hot wars, Germany, Italy, and Japan; and Korea. Those wars were, other than the First Gulf War in Iraq, the last conventional wars when the military forces under political control ended their hot wars by agreements. Since then the capitalistist world led by the one last economic and military superpower standing has been in both hot and cold wars with different isms, Terrorism and Islamism being two; but their have been some continuing issues in the Carribean, Mexico and Central America though that our special forces and policing agencies have been waging hot wars i during the 1960s to present, although the reigning ism their seems to be more Criminalism, although Communism still raises its ugly head from time to time in that theater.
And it is a equal opportunity political war effort we have been engaged in since the 60s, Jason.
I did notice that our military is in these countries decades after our war there, and what makes you think our military will not do the same as time goes by? I am not in favor of over 100,000,000,000$ of tax payers money going into playing war with the world, b/c when you start war games sometimes the loser comes back a few years later and flies planes into your buildings( how did that huge Reagan military build up do in protecting the USA on 9/11/2001?) and yet all of this with the mission accomplished and the "wind down years" behind us. The military industrial complex has taken over the Federal government, just as it has and does in countries we hate, yet people like Keith want to make sure the military has even more of the country.
He is just another coward cynic republican MoFo. A must to be part of the brand.

Seriously, you couldn't figure out the torch was a metaphor? Really, you and your whole staff really thought Romney thought they fought with torches they walked around with in one hand in WWII?
Your show can be so ridiculous as to be embarrassing.
Oh, Mitt, where is your knowledge of Veterans and their issues? The most obvious facts about WWII Veterans is that they are dying off-- the youngest WWII Veterans are about 85. If he ever visited any kind of program (VA sponsored or otherwise) where senior citizens are cared for, he would see that many WWII Veterans are not physically or economically in a position to be politically active. What did he say in that sound bite? They can't hold the flame anymore? It was a comment on the level of "a couple of Cadillacs, actually," "I am also unemployed," and "those cookies look like they come from 711." No wait-- it was much worse, his ignorance of the degree of sacrifice and patriotism each and every Veteran represents makes him uniquely unqualified to be the nation's leader.
Uhhh...Louise, I think Mitt was pointing to the need to realize that the "greatest generation" had no longer the vitality to hold the flame, and that the passing of the flame to a new generation was required. There was a lot of talk that had happened in the past beginning with Jimmy Carter, with his post World War II Navy experience, but that was a bit of a false start, as we had to call back in Ronald Reagan, Geroge H. W. Bush to hold the flame a while longer, and then it was Bill Clinton's, George Bush's, and now Barrack Obama's turn to carry the torch, representing the post World War II generation.
Get the picture now?
Mitt slips into awkward sounding euphanism-speak so frequently because of his Bain experience. When you are employed basically to fire people and close factories, you must develop the ability to automatically substitute tepid or obscure vocabulary for the scary truth.
I voted for Obama, and will again. OʻDonnell disses Romneyʻs draft deferments while simultaneously asserting that his own deferments were good, honorable and just. What a load of crap! OʻDonnel was too smart to serve? Talk about hypocrisy! 2/3 of the men who served in Vietnam were volunteers. Both he and Mitt could have too.
The key issues here to consider in your choice of which candidate to get out and support if only with your vote in November is their stance on the strength of our private sector economy that the greatest generation turned their interest to Post World War II, and maintaining our position as a world superpower, with a shield of defense for ourselves and our allies. The latter, of course, relies on the existance of the former.
Reexamine the following: "The Private Sector is doing fine...I have a jobs bill that will help the public sector add employment opportunities that Congress should pass now!" Of course, if Obama and the progressive Democrats Party Congressional candidates prevail, they will spend those borrowed and taxed dollars on their political patronage public sector superfluous public sector jobs bill, instead of on the updated defensive missle shield and keeping our Air and Naval Defenses top class in the world facing the two continuing problematic Iran and North Korea search for nuclear weapons and a means of delivering them, and a resurgent militaristic and international problem presenting Russia under Putin, and the rising military power of China. Threats for the future for us and our allies and trading partners from both the East and the West need to be contained.
Yo, Keith, so money for the federal government borrowed from China is wasted on us poor people, BUT money borrowed from China wasted on the military is OK with you. Money borrowed is money borrowed, the only difference is the way you want to spend it and the way I want to spend it. I think USA money should go towards USA people, you think we should spend that money in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Japan, and the other 100+ countries we spend military money in which helps their economy and hurts ours.
