President Obama and Mitt Romney delivered dueling speeches in Ohio this afternoon, just minutes apart. Looking to change the current narrative in the race, Obama focused on the stark differences between him and his opponent on the economy; ie. if you want four more years of Bush-era policies, vote for Romney.

I was distracted by the guy in the worker shirt in the background of Romneys speech who kept crossing his arms everytime he disagreed with what he said!
Even though the Presidents speech was a little long, it still showed a remarkable contrast to Romney. Romney also lied about the Presidents record... trade, debt, etc. I think the debates will further expose Romneys cracks and it will be clear that it would be a mistake to elect anyone but President Obama.

Anyone who thinks MSNBC is biased in Obama's favor needs to realize the first pundit "out of the box" discussing the President's speech was Jonathan Alter who did worse than "damn with faint praise"; he was scathing in his analysis... Sadly, that's what passes for journalism these days...
BTW, Alter was on Matthews last winter and tried to pass off the shinola that Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. wasn't a Mormon... Seriously, those were doubtless "trial balloons" being floated to see how that script would fly--with Huntsman moving his campaign headquarters to Florida... Look for that one in 2016, folks...
And do I think Alter is a "biased mole" for the Fox Noise crowd? Nope, I'm more cynical than that. I think he was handed a script to serve a "drama agenda" and he agreed to read it beforehand.

Romney's Radical Roots
Who is Cleon Skousen you might ask? In answering that question, it's hard to even know where to begin. Skousen was by turns an FBI employee, the police chief of Salt Lake City, a Brigham Young University professor, consigliore to former secretary of agriculture and Mormon president Ezra Taft Benson and, well, all-around nutjob.
Of course he was also a prolific writer and likely brilliant, but Skousen is not an association a presidential candidate should loudly trumpet. Pulitzer-prize winning editorial cartoonist Scott Benson, grandson of Ezra Taft, has a well-sourced rundown of Skousen here. Bear in mind Benson admittedly has an axe to grind with the Mormon Church but what he says is for the most part easily verifiable and the highlights of Skousen's dubious achievements are worth noting.
I note the "20 minute interview" seems to have disappeared from YouTube, but Skousen was a religion professor of Romney's at BYU, and Romney spoke of him kindly in the clip.
Incidentally, I'll correct an error in that NR article and note that it's Steve Benson who's the grandson of Ezra Taft Benson and is the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for the Arizona Republic. Steve and I know each other well and respect the other's abilities. And we both agree Skousen was a nutcase.
Obama wen't full circle from blaming the economic woes on George Bush, to blaming the business sector and Wall Street, to blaming Blain Capital and other private sector firms, to blaming the Republican's in Congress and none of it stuck in the last couple of months, so he has gone back to blaming George Bush! When Clinton looked in the mirror in 1992 campaign he saw the words "It's the Economy, Stupid!". When Obama looks in the mirror in 2012 he sees the growing sweat on his brow, and the ghosts of Bill Clinton and George Bush, and behind them looking over their shoulders the pinched scowling features of that failed Democrat President Jimmy Carter and a robust, beaming Ronald Reagan.
Romneys message is that it is the private sector that needs the assurance of cutting the deficits, tax reform, the unwinding of the Unaffordable Care Act (if the Supreme Court doesn't fully do the job this month), and policies that will lead to economic growth and hiring.
Obama offered Obama Light as to his new stimulus plans, and a future robbing plan for more borrowing, more debt, more spending, more taxes, and more regulations and federal meddling into all portions of our lifes, individual and corporate. And that doesn't even say anything about Defense and Energy planning, where he is sooooo deficient! Reminds me of the old Garth Brooks song, "That long necked bottle won't let my hand go"! LOL! (If you're out there Cab Driver, feast on that one).

And the truth is because there is a black man in the White House that is like another round the world and have great ideas to bring the country back from destruction. Saw a black stand up commedian doing his routine, and he joked that when his friends tell him they think he might be going to vote for Obama just because he is black, he laughs and tells them, "No, of course not...I'm going to vote for him because he's NOT WHITE!" LOL!
All the polls are not taken by Republicans, Donald, and people don't "Obama", nor are they "afraid" of him. They are agast at what he has done with the fiscal state of the economy, they are disallusioned with him because he failed to live up to his promises, including being a bi-partisan President of all the people, and because his administration has not concentrated on fiscal stability and the economy. White, Brown, Black, Yellow and Red, and all the others who are inbetween (much like the President himself), this election they will vote their brains instead of their hearts, and will be making their decisions on who they trust to put the country on a better course than the one we are on presently.
And that is what the polls are showing.

I did not get a chance to watch Lawrence last night but I put it on my DVR. I have to say in regards to Joe Klein's remarks that some parts of Ohio is doing bad. My answer to that is the President put forth the 1. American Jobs Act Bill, 2. then broke the Bill up into separate parts. My thoughts are somewhere in the separate parts there has to be a part that would reflect on other parts of Ohio other than the car industry. Infrastructure affects everywhere and there is an Infrastructure Bill passed in the Senate and now stuck in Congress because Congress want to chop the Bill to pieces. Infrastructure affects all areas no matter what state you are in and bridges are badly needing repairs but as usual stupid Congress is holding the Bill up and that of course keeps people in some areas from having a job. The President has said something needs to be done and he is correct in order for this country to move forward something need to be done about the gridlock in Washington. Listening to the Ohio State Senator it appears people are aware of what the President is doing and what he has tried and trying to do.
The automobile industry turnaround has only accounted for 1,800 direct job increases in Northern Ohio region. The stimulus plan of 2009 provided some $260 billion for non-shovel ready infrastructure jobs, but it was parceled out on a rewarding basis to those Comgressional Districts and States that had voted for the Democrat Party candidates in 2008 and 2010 over the three years it has been spent down.
If we have normal levels of infrastructure works that need to be accomplished, the route to those is at the state and county and municipal levels where appropriate local bonding pays the costs; there is no need to borrow and tax at the federal level to take money from other resource needs (like Defense) just to have a pre-election binge of "DC Dollars" to buy votes in the targeted areas they would be spent, Gladys.
In other words, 'Let the lil people pay for infrastucture rebuilding costs, 'Leave my income alone!...lol
When the states, counties, and the municipalities and utility regions support their infrastructure needs with bonding, all citizens of that state get to pay a reasonable amount over the life of the bonds in repayment and interest costs, including the well to do as well as your "lil people". After all, that is only fair as the "lit" people utilize the roads, bridges, water and sewer treatment plants, etc. You'd rather have a "rich" cotton farmer in Texas get taxed higher amounts to have the federal government redstribute those tax dollars (after taking their cut for the overhead of Washington, DC, of course), to pay for a bridge repair, and that highway's upgraded traffic flow system on the on and off ramps on a State Highway in Pennsylvania, for example, hmmm John from Texas? And if you left the money in the hands of that "rich" cotton farmer, he just might spend it on new harvesting equipment, irrigation system improvement, expanding production, hiring locally at good waged instead of luring cheap illegal immigtants to solve his workforce needs,, and if he had profits left over from his cotton production business, he just night be one of the individuals with the bucks to invest in the State of Pennsylvania's (and Texas's Infrastructure Impovement Bonds). That is the way it's supposed to work when I studied Public Finance, John from Texas!

Who are white people? Which way will they vote on Election Day? Melissa Harris-Perry brought in real, live White People into the studio for an interview. When asked what White People want in order to determine which vote on Election Day indicates that the definition of ‘White People’ is completely misunderstood. This is like asking someone to speak ‘European,’ ‘Black’ or ‘Asian.’ It is because the single thin link between all White People and other ‘Colored’ is the fact white is also a color. We are white; brown; tan; ugly; pretty; sexy; gay; straight; male; female; and all the other cultural differences that define what an American citizen feels.
Some of us (meaning all colors including white) feel the racial thing is something that we shall all evolve out of some day; sooner than later would be nice.
Then, let us all propose a rare truth. White people started this country; therefore, we all live inside this culture brought forth by a few number of inspired colonists who considered the consequence of killing His Majesty’s Royal Army. These men committed assets (mostly French’s), and men who also believed in the gamble were worth the risk, and acted by declaring their independence from slavery. These few white men knowingly included the words (even after discussing the pros and cons in doing so) ‘all men’ meaning this new political philosophy stood for freedom from all ownership, and willing to defend with life and limb. Please note that some of these very few men, they, themselves owned slaves.
During the new nation’s evolution, white people, and white people killed each other in order to enforce another phase in freedom’s aspiration away from slavery. Legal enforcement (in a civilized manner) proved a useful tool in redistributing violators’ assets to the very victims; good legislation and enforcement since the end of that war.
Ironically, President Abraham Lincoln (a white guy) said, “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”
Meaning the white people were willing to kill each other to extend freedom from slavery even for people who were not white; kool, huh? Actually, that is evidence that white people are a color too. We cannot stand to treat each other so horribly; we are a nation of just people; we do not break our own laws unless they are unjust; and we shall risk life and limb to protect (and sometime suggest) this type of political philosophy. In addition, we whooped the commies because we loves our money and luxury goods that fueled our fantastic way of life. Do you realize we traveled to the moon? Best damn rocks ever!
We have elected great leaders in the past, and I have no doubt we have elected a great president already. He has withstood the evolutionary trauma with his color, but the fact remains he is we, and we are he; we did elect him after all. (wow, that sounds like a Beatles song!).
This all proves that our nation’s deep soul is not racist, but stands for equality among us travelers in this life. We share this experience not because we must, but we all wish to enjoy what life has to offer; being dead really sucks.
Now is no different from then. White people still defend the weak, the poor, etc. A white Billionaire may throw an election with money, but another American billionaire will counter it.
What we people (yes, including white people) want is to marry a wonderful spouse (to meet our biological needs), bear and raise wonderful, loving children (hopefully), and pursue happiness; exactly as my Declaration of Independence says:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
What we, the people are tasked by our forefathers (and what we learned as a nation) is to ensure that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. (SIC)
Why? Because we group together as one nation to enforce these declared independence from all man, as well as our Creator. Notice the fact God was not used, but a generic Creator that ensures the freedom of religion to all religions; a basic right, and as our Statute of Liberty said to your family tree, we extend this offer of freedom from slavery, economic condition, and political strife including religious persecution; we offer amnesty to these kind of victims of all forms of persecution especially to threats against life or liberty.
Obviously, we have some evolving with some social issues, but these too are progressing now days. Freeing the entire world is a task best requiring patience. We must first completely free ourselves in our own nation.
We do not have the perfect system, but it is definitely the best that exists on this planet. We the people will vote on Election Day for the right Congressional, Local, and State Parties, and Presidential candidate that ensures all of the above shall win the day. As the Europeans know us so well, we eventually do the right thing. That is what we, the American peoples do.
