George W. Bush, inspiration on Game of Thrones
I spy with my little eye George W. Bush's decapitated head on Game of Thrones. The former president's noggin was one of many placed on a spike in true medieval fashion in King's Landing.
If you look closely when King Joffrey is showing Sanza Stark her father's head on a spike, you can see the familiar face of the ex-president (with a bit more of a wild mane).
In the DVD commentary, show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss confirmed it was, indeed, in the likeness of Dubya. They said it makes several cameos and defended their choice of props, adding " it's not a political statement. The crew "had to use whatever head we had around.”
Hmm… wonder what other heads they have "lying around."
