One New York City public school chose Justin Bieber over "God Bless the USA" for a kindergarten graduation ceremony. P.S. 90 Principal Greta Hawkins is refusing to let students sing Lee Greenwood's '80s classic "God Bless the USA” (aka "Proud To Be An American") because it isn't "age appropriate." Hawkins reportedly explained, "We don't want to offend other cultures."
No comment on the possible offense of musical tastes after Justin Bieber's "Baby" stayed on the playlist. The popular hit describes a teenage romance.
According to the New York Post, along with "Baby," the 5-year-old students will be singing "We're All Together Again," "The World is a Rainbow," "Shake Your Sillies Out," and "You've Got a Friend in Me."
City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott stands by the principal saying, "It's her judgment to make that decision." Even with the chancellor's support, parents and teachers are up in arms about the decision. A Facebook page was created this past weekend calling for Hawkins' firing.

"Baby, baby, boo,boo bop bop boo!" Great, meaningful lyrics to rally our youth around! How fitting! No wonder our school stems are failing...look at the decision making capability of the "adults" running them.
Secularism is good... no comment on Bieber, that is a total side issue, but keeping religious indoctrination out of government funded places, especially like schools, is important because A: religious is false & unethical on average & B: the First Amendment says so & finally C: the First Amendment is good.

I went to the facebook page and as I suspected, It was a pack of wild hyenas teaching their children to chop off the head of anyone who they disagree with. Not one of them could hold an adult conversation and they then barred me from stating my opinion. Instead of firing this woman who is trying to be inclusive they should be firing these parents for teaching their children that no one else can have an opinion and you can never approach your differences in a calm, mature manner. I guess they want them all to grow up to be politicians. lol

Oh shucks, now word comes that the school autocrats will now bar the singing of Justin Beiber's hit song as well as the patriotic ballad by Lee Greenwood. Guess they figure that was "tit for tat"!
And these are the people we want to spend even more tax and borrowed dollars to hire under Obama's plan to assist the economy? Give me a break!
