It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood after watching this remix of Mister Rogers.
As a way to encourage donations from the public, PBS Digital Studios played the nostalgia card (he's holding an '80s cassette player!) by releasing a mashup of our cardigan-loving childhood friend.
A sampling of the lyrics, assembled courtesy of Symphony of Science's John Boswell: "Did you ever grow anything in the garden of your mind? You can grow ideas, in the garden of your mind. It's good to be curious, about many things. You can think about things and make believe. All you have to do is think."

I knew it! That guy was sooooo O'Donnellesque! Without the maniacal look in his eyes, of course
Too techno'd for my tastes, but it was still nice to see my old favorite gentle, nurturing adult. The message is very Mr. Rogers; the presentation, not so much. You are missed, Mr. Rogers.
No one, and I mean NO ONE has a better internet empire than SPQR. If Americans had read the blogs created by SPQR and contributors instead of sticking with those pussies at the Daily Ks or the middle-aged Turks... Then Americans wouldn't have been played for FOOLS! I am part of this cyber think tank with my link spoact.blogspot.com.
Use the internet for more than video games and porn masturbation ya freaks. It's time for the PEOPLE to get their power back from the CONTROL by AUTHORITY fascists in the GOP.

Growing up I deeply admired Mr Rogers (Fred Rogers). This is a really nice tribute to the greatest example of a man that knew how to teach our children and just great TV.
Love the music and the song in general. I do find it interesting though that PBS thinks so highly of that great program but then there is nothing that comes close to Mr Rogers in their lineup of programming today.
Lawrence why is it so hard for shows like Morning Joe to call a guest out on falsehoods? For example, this morning Nicole Wallace mispoke and attributed a response from the President relative to an early meeting in his presidency with leaders from the Republican party. She indicated that the President took this opportunity to brag that he won the election and was now President. In reality his response was based on how this group came to the White House and tried to dictate their agrenda to the duly elected President of the USA.
As one would say in the movie industry, just roll the tape and see how this particular incident came about, if anyone was rude it was the Republican representatives that day. Does Joe and his right wing quest think that we are not watching (although his show is begininng to resemble Russ the trash talking radio host)?
I was a single mom in an apartment raising my son and working in an office. Mr. Rogers and other programs like it were so fun to watch with the kids when they would come over and play. I saved all the toys in a huge toy chest so that someday . . . and now such a very nice thing to see again Lawrence. Thank you for reminding me.
