Few things show the gap between the well-intentioned hosts of MSNBC and ordinary people as clearly as their praise for Bill "Kill the New Deal and Give Us NAFTA" Clinton. They really don't get it, do they? Clinton gave us policies under which taxpayer dollars were given to wealthy corporations in the name of "job creation," and those jobs actually were created -- in India, Pakistan, Mexico, Korea, etc. In other words, taxpayer dollars are used to cover the costs of shipping our jobs out. He then ended the entitlement to poverty relief, and used the desperately poor for something similar to a massive "Right to Work" system. We now have fewer jobs, more people who need jobs. Do the math. Workfare is merely a modern system of indentured servitude largely used as replacement labor to block unionizing efforts and suppress wages. These two sets of policies have, so far, shrunk the middle class by nearly 1/3! That is Bill Clinton's legacy. Sorry folks, this isn't a "bumper sticker issue." It's actually quite complex, with the power of Clinton's welfare "reform" and NAFTA steadily shrinking the middle class. Why would this be praised by anyone other than the right wing?
FL Governor Rick Scott defies the DOJ on the purge of voter rolls. Supervisors of Elections are refusing to comply with his highly illegal purge occurring within 90 days of a Federal election. The only voter fraud in Florida has been under the past 12 years of Republican rule. Scott is an arrogant, sociopathic crook, who bought the office he now holds.
It is estimted we hve over 12,000,000 illegal immigrants in the US of A, and you don't believe some of them have found their way onto the voter rolls. The Justice Departments supposed main gripe is the correction being made to the voter registration lists in Florida are being made "too close to the election". The effort began 6 months before the November national elction...I see they believe that is short time, especially for the President in his reelection efforts who is at a 42% voter approval sentiment right now, and will have trouble getting any higher. Of course, he will need every edge he can get to succeed at the polls, as he hasn''t succeeded in 3&1/2 years of holding the office with his policvies having ushered in anther looming recession.
