That video trumped here released by the Obama camp is nothing other than several Democrat Party mayors dutifully running down his record.
Let's look at the facts. Mitt Romney was elected Governor in 2002 and when he took office there was a 1.6 billion deficit of spending run up by the Democrat Party controlled legislature. He immediately set out to trim the spending, cutting out millions in wasteful and inefficient programs using the Section 9c "emergency" provisions, then went on a campaign of raising the state's fees charged for licensing, registrations, etc including many in the business sector, instead of raising taxes as the legislature was attempting to do. (You all remember the infamous designation of Taxachusetts earned during the Dukakis administration?). He worked diligently to obtain a balanced budget easch year of his term of office, and also to put money into the former stabilization fund now known as the "rainy day fund", and vetoed the legislature's subsequent attempts to raid that fund so that could continue their "Party first patronage" favored programs, including exhoribant state aid to favored cities and towns. He left a surplus when he resigned in Jan 2007 to run for the Presidential nomination, and the successor to his term of office in 2008 Patrick Duval immediadely began running up deficits in the next two fiscal years, unable to control his Party's legislature's efforts to reinstate many of the wasteful spending programs Romney had cut.
During Romney's years in the Governorship of Massachisetts, job growth took place at a rate of 1.7 percent average per year, leading to 50,000+ new jobs added, or more than four times the rate of labor force growth. That nominal increase in jobs during his administration resulted in dropping the unemployent rate in Massachusetts from 5.7% when he took office to 4.3%, one of the best records in the country. The Democrat critics like to point to the fact that Massachusetts ranked 47% in "job growth" during his administration; however, that figure was the RATE of job growth, and not the actual nominal job growth that did lower the unemployment rate in the state to one of very favorable levels comparing so highly with the rest of the states!
During his Governorship, Romney was adept at working with the opposition Party leaders in control of the state legislature; however, they did part ways on several occasions, especially when Romney wished to float $10 billion in bonds to clear the backlog of needed K-12 School Construction in the state as a part of his Education reform agenda; the legislature insisted on only allowing $2 billion in bonding, and wanted to raise the sales tax (already at 5.3% with a decade old surtax that had been added by the Dukakis administration to te original 5%). However, Romney persevered with his tax cutting and wasteful spending and raising fees to specific users only rather than enact the job killing and regressive sales tax further increase favored by the Democrats, and instead was able to cut the surtax, and return the state sales tax to its original 5% level.
So what do you think of that nonsense Obama camp video now, MSNBC. Glad you brought it up, losers!
While Romney was
Anyone wanting to fact check the talking points Grandpa is passing on (which were doubtless handed out today as a response to Obama's campaign) can look at this article.

And as for blaming that "47th in job creation" number on the Democrats, well, it came from the Jon Huntsman, Jr. campaign originally...
One more:
http://thinkprogress.org/romney-facts/
During Mitt Romney's tenure, Massachusetts' job growth was at 0.9 percent, far behind the national average of over 5 percent.
A Northeastern University economist found that Massachusetts lagged on virtually every economic indicator while Mitt Romney was in office.
Sales tax a "job killer"? Boy, I wanna hear the whopper Fuzzie tells trying to justify that lump of shinola. When he was a Republican, even my old man thought that one was an equitable tax that hit consumers equally. What, the 1% is even objecting to paying a premium on their luxury cars and sailboats?
And the reason the wealthy wanted the bond issues is there's often no income tax on the interest paid on municipal bonds.
Instead of fact cheking with media matters, that leftist lying propoganda machine of yours, Cab Driver, try just searching Governorship of Mitt Romney and pull up the Wikipedia record. They don't have a political bone to chew, you know?
And how does the information put forward nightly on MSNBC by Obama surrogates that Obama has "created" more jobs in his 3&1/2 years in office in this 8% unemployment economy than George Bush did in his full 8 years of office ever compare with the "jobless recovery" that the Bush Administration has been labeled with coming out of the double whammy of the recessions of the dot.com bubble burst financial markets swoon, and the 9/11 blow to our nations economy if during the Romney Governorship you say the nation's rate of "job growth" was 5%? You can't have your cake and eat it too, lying losers.
Sales tax not a jobs killer or regressive? Whenever the disposable income available to every consumer falls by another percent or two, that hits our retail sector hard, and can especially hit hard at the lower level or middle level wage earners the hardest, as they haven't really got a lot of disposable income to begin with. Its no wonder that the "dollar stores" have had their highest levels of success in their franchise developments in the states with the highest sales taxes; in fact, that is a critical element of their business plans of expansion. And the history of the surtaxes that have been placed on luxury goods such as yacts and sailboats, for example, is that they eventually stopped being manufactured in the US of A, and good people loose their jobs while the manufacturers go off shore to the Carribean Islands and the other nations in the Western Hemisphere to accomplish their manufuring with cheaper labor, and less restrictive economic conditions.
The key to economic progress is to keep the money in the hands of the consumers, and to keep the political patronage spending games away from our pocketbooks and wallets. Government is not very adept at spending your money better than you could, even you should know that by now Cab Driver (discounting your having blown through so many dollars feeding your addiction, of course!).
Grandpa, please. I'm a "Mormon historian," and the LDS Church has virtually an army of seniors and other missionary sorts who are putting stuff in Wiki and removing others more quickly than the NRA can spread paranoia about how Obama is going to take away your guns. Unbiased, my aunt Sadie...
Wiki is useful occasionally as a means of showing both sides of an issue, but that's all. If you doubt me, try one of my recent research subjects, "Parley P. Pratt," Mitt Romney's great-great grandfather whose murder was a factor in Brigham Young ordering the Mountain Meadows Massacre (which, until the Oklahoma bombings was the largest mass murder of American civilians by other American citizens in our history).
I won't argue that subject (you've made yourself look bad enough), but if you'll look at Wiki right now you'll see Pratt's biography omits a couple of relevant issues. The first is that he was excommunicated for a time (otherwise he or his brother might've succeeded to the leadership instead of Brigham Young), and the second is that he was traveling under an alias when he was killed because of a Missouri murder warrant. Wiki notes he escapes the Columbia Jail, but makes no mention of the circumstances and how Pratt probably killed a member of the Missouri militia during the "Battle of Crooked River."
That's not relevant to Romney, particularly, but the Etch-a-Sketch tactics of his followers are. They have almost as many holes in their memories as you do.
And as for the government spending money, the worst excesses I've seen have occurred when they're feeding the testosterone addictions of the "War is Good Business" crowd.
You've been on their mainline drip on that one for years.
Read the Wiki comprehensive information on the Governorship of Mitt Romney before you make your anti Mormon bigotted statements, Cab Driver. I believe you will find it is straight forward, and covers both sides of the arguments on his term of office.
As to the stupit Obama campaign argument against Bain Capital and Romney's role their as founder and CEO, and his years of office as Governor of Massachusetts, take a listen to your former hero Bill Clinton on CNN today stating that the argument put forward by the Obama campaign should stop, and he went on to say that Mitt Romney and Bain Capital were very successful, and that Romney's business experience was "STERLING" and "SUPERB"! And added that with his business background and his experience as Governor Romney was more than qualified to hold the office of President of the US of A. And that seems like a pretty thinly veiled slap at the lack of credentials of Barrack Hussein Obama, but we knew that back in 2008, didn't we.
69,000 jobs only in May, that didn't come close to meeting the 350+K plus new unemloyment claims. Add also the 50,000 less jobs reported for April, which was a revised 79,000 only gain against a similar 350+K news unemployment claims that month. And while they report that the unemployment rate ticked up to 8.2% again this month, CNBC (NBC's business new channel) reports that the real unemployment rate is over 14%.
You do know Cab Driver, that it takes somewhere between 150K to 200K new jobs to be added each month to cover just the new entry's to our labor market, let alone make a dent in the 12,000,000 unemployed American citizens. No wonder the illegal immigrants are going back home in great numbers, and have been for the past several years now. At least that is one thing the Obama Administration can take credit for amonst all their other failings. But that isn't going to get the bum reelected...nor is it going to be marching in your Utah Gay Rights Parade upcoming, either, you can bet on that. Not with Bill Clinton going south on him now, along with others like Democrat Party Mayor Cory Booker, Governor Patrick Duval (Romney's Democrat Party sucessor in Massachusetts), and former Democrat Party Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania, along with a host of others who are taking the high road on this Bain Capital issue.
Did you see Romney today ? Where he told reporters...just ride along and follow me ( on the bus).
He admitted he specifically and intentionally had hecklers to be in attendance at a speech by Democrats...WHY? ...in his defense he states...[ lamely ]... Obama does it.......
This man is unbelievable....he makes me sick......he is such an adolescent character...if a serious issue is not laughable ...TO HIM......he is lying about everything!
I wish this election was over already...how much more must we take of him?
He mistreats animals.....laughs and giggles at hardships he causes others...has memory lapses.....cares less about any and all who are not wealthy.....is a follower instead of a leader....says whatever HE THINKS we want to hear......and most times can't specifically remember what that was exactly but.....he stands by what he sais...huh.?.....what?.....this guy? ....for President?...of what?....Saturday Night Live?
Who are the hecklers he had heckling, and where did this take place, and who exactly were the Democrats that were making speeches? I believe I know to what you are referring, but I really doubt that you know, DISGUSTED. I think you caught a snippet of something on MSNBC, and then regurgitated it up here with your own churning bile mixed in for good measure. If you can't fully digest the news cycle, than do us the favor of not puking your nonsense all over these blog pages!
You Guys are so FUNNY. Where is Obama Land!
You Guys are so FUNNY. Never laughed so hard in my life. You have a cleaver way on how to downplay the American people!
Lawrence As usual the retards do not speak the truth. Rush Lumbaugh said Romney used his money to finance those companies and did not use any money from the government. Wrong. When Romney & Friends bankrupted those companies Romney & Friends used the government to pay the pensions of those workers laid off or fired and Romney & Friends banked the so-called profits or better yet the government money.
Romney is so high school. Makes you almost believe and believe he did those things to the boy in high school and the blind teacher. It appears he does not have an original thought in his head. This taking people to the rally to heckle is very childish and this man is 65 years old. Then he says something to the effect what's sauce for the goose and sauce for the gander. Ultra childish. So it appears those things that happened so long ago in high school is still with good old Mitt. He never grew up and you can tell this by I want to be President. I want to be President. Like a rich child who has been denied his toy and will do anyhting to get the toy. MITT HAS A SOLD SIGN ON HIS FACE. SOLD TO THE DEVIL AND OH I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY BILLIONS. The final tally is not in yet.
Do you realize the utter stupidity of your comments about Romney and Blain Capital?
Don't you think that the private equity firms earn much more profit if the gambles they take in buying out and restructuring previously failing companies in troubled industries actually succeed instead of fail? They make their money out of the 78% of successful buyouts and reconsitutions of companies, not the ones that end up in bankruptcy. To date, the Obama campaign has focused on a few companies that went into bankruptcy eventually, all years after Romney left Bain in 1999 to take over the and put on a successful path the failing Winter Olympics. And they went bankrupt due to the stresses of the double whammy recession of the dot.com bubble burst that sank the financial markets and the hit the nation's economy took in the 9/11 terror attack on the financial centers of NYC and the pentagon. Add to that, that Steel Mill going down to the pressures of the Chinese illegally dumping cheap Communist Capatalist subsidized steel on our markets, and maybe you see the picture a little clear, Gladys?
Obama can't find people in his own party, including some of his surrogates in his campaign willing to stand up to his claims about Romney and Bain Capital's record, but you in your MSNBC pablum sucking ignorance spew forth their garbage! Get a life!
By the way, Romney has a personal and family wealth of $220 million after 25 years in the private equity business as CEO of the nations most successful and largest private equity firm, Bain Capital. Are you at all aware that the average CEO today in the US enjoys incomes of over $45 million A YEAR in salary and stock options?
What is the value of one, thin American Dollar? You could possibly buy a soft drink with only a single dollar, but let us say you have more than a single dollar. Let us say you have 6 billion, or even better yet, let say you possess one trillion dollars all in cash. What would you do with such a big stack? Amazingly persons today whom not only possess such cash, but instead of buying a soft drink, they buy politicians.
Many lottery winners spend their money on soft drinks, plus any other whim they see fit. Not many of us working class have won money from our local lottery, but more on this fact later. Let us say that any working class, suddenly wealthy persons do not buy politicians.
So why the difference; why spend your fortune to buy a politician, and what is the goal. Simply put, where is the Return on Investment (ROI)? Well, let us Americans examine what the total market consists of; what value is a bought politician?
The total debt of the United States of America grows by trillions. Is that amount a worthy market to pursue? Would you stop buying soft drinks, but now invest in politicians in order to tap into that monstrous market?
However, let us also ask, “Whose money does these trillions belong too; does it belong to the politician, or the politician buyer?” Where does the money come from?
The money come from taxes, import and export tariffs, and any other way the Government can grab money. It is safe to say that the money belongs to whomever controls the Government, so who controls our Government? The three branches of our government essentially collect money, and spend it as they see fit; we give them the authority via voting in our carefully vetted election process for our representative. Many politicians rightly arrange some of that money be spent in his, or her State; Government in action.
When a wealthy person buys a politician, in essence, he is controlling an elected official, and possibly controlling the flow of money back into his bank account, plus a healthy profit, or granted power.
Some facts that exist in our political reality may sound a bit depressing, especially if you can only afford one stinking soft drink, but that is why we live in United States of America. That is not the way our country’s founders designed how our Government works. That is why each of us possesses an equal vote, same as a politician, or a wealthy person. A rich person’s vote has no more value than your constitutionally protected vote, in fact we mandate our Government to use our money to ensure this right is protected above all else, and budgets enough public money to administer the act of voting, especially ensuring that our vote is not impeded, and literally sanctifies this public ritual.
So why vote? Do trillions of stacks of money motivate you to vote? Will you allow the already wealthy jerks run off with the money like during the Republican feeding frenzy of the W years, or will you vote your own politician into Government, and spend the money on the working class? This has nothing to do with the National Debt. America will always use credit; that is the American way. So, who will control this money?
So, the debate condenses down to one single issue for the next election; whomever controls Government, controls the money. Do you trust wealthy people to do the right thing? When will the 99 get control back? When will the 99 per cent vote effectively against this corruption; this farce; this charade; and our nation's disgrace?
What would happen to our beloved country if we spent the money on the majority of people, demanded better, more efficient government, and permanently ensconce our civil rights that already exists in our Constitution, but to everyone; all 99 per cent? We share the Government income with students, the poor, and the elderly already, but how about the rest of the working class.
We go to war to protect both poor, and wealthy people’s right to live under the protection on our Constitution; therefore, our blood ensures our right to vote against the rich person. The insane feeding on our Treasury has to stop; vote your power; and control your Government. The reward for voting makes your thin, American dollar worth more in value, stability, and honor. Get control of our money, and show the world we are good people, and will honor our words written in bronze on the Statue of Liberty.
Melissa Harris-Perry brought up a good subject on Sunday regarding violent crime in neighborhoods. Instead of what we do to combat said crimes, let us ask why these events happen in the first place.
Why would any human practice criminalism? Do economic, or background factors influence the frequency when these terrible events appear in our American lives? Does race have anything to do with increased criminal behavior? Do Black, young men commit more crimes? Why are there so many more young Black Americans incarcerated, or often killed while under suspicion?
Despite crime experts’ offers of theories, studies show these mentioned factors mean nothing for a person who wishes to commit crime. A study left money in a hotel room, and filmed cleaning staff’s behavior when they discovered the bait money. That study, and many others proved crime stems from a personal decision of every individual at anytime, and at any age; race certainly had no factor other than population clusters eschew numbers. The only common factor between criminals was the fact they wished they had not gotten caught. All law enforcement and court staff know this fact.
Why do people commit crime? The answer seems to dwell inside all of us. Why and when do we make that decision to disobey a law? This simple question becomes the essence of we Americans’ decision making process. We base this decision on various influences, e.g. politics (civil disobedience); greed; survival; etc.
When Wisconsinites assemble inside the States’ Capitol building to demonstrate against Gov. Scott Walker’s governance, they broke the law, but law enforcement did not enforce. When a young Black man walks through a controlled property, law enforcement administered by a commercial company (not a restaurant, but has the same official status) detains, and ultimately executes deadly force. So can we safely say that crime statistics has a lot to do with how law enforcement executes enforcement?
We Americans still have not counted the cash that disappeared in our economy forcing our Government to replace the lost money (yes, with OUR money). We still have not seen enforcement.
We Americans gave orders to torture prisoners. We still have not seen enforcement.
We invaded a country on false pretenses, and literally murdered thousands of fellow humans without legal authority under our Constitution (wow, an irrevocable law as our founding principles!). We still have not seen enforcement.
So why do Black, young men break more laws? Has this something to do with enforcement?
While serving in the military, we learn that we must depend on each other for survival, but quickly learn when we are forced to interact with each other (away from our clustered environment) that we loved each other. We made instant friendship within minutes of meeting each other. We meet other people from all over the US with individual personalities; backgrounds; gender; and race. All bigotry has not left, but certainly the military has successfully incorporated this multi-everything society that comprises our country today into a warm, compassionate, and loving community that should situation require, get up next morning, and kick anyone’s ass that threatens our way of life.
That is truly who we are as Americans, but the Government changes our country’s philosophy every Election Day.
The advantage of going into war for us Americans so passionately stems from the fact we know we are the good guys, but recently our Government has behaved in very concerning ways. Why do we need the Patriot Act? Who is in control of our Government? Why did we go to war, and become the bad guys who invades and tortures?
No one from that horrible administration can ever be permitted with our Government’s power ever again.
We Americans love each other. We shoot each other once in a while, but we still love each other. Now, let us show that love by getting along with each other. If we are willing to war with each other, let us at least love each other. Yes, this is the same peace and love message from the 1970s. Peace and love, America!
If you haven't noticed, Obama has doubled down on the Patriot Act, with a Justice Department ruling that even American citizens suspected of terrorism can be arrested and detained indefinitely, without being brought to trial...in fact, the Conswtitutional Law scholar and assistant instuctor at the University of Chicago effectively sunk the concept of due process as a protection of our Counstitution, and did away with the Habeas Corpus doctrine of our laws.
And with zeal, there is no longer any attempt to capture and interrogate enemy terrorists from other countries that mean us and our allies great harm...instead Obama sits as judge and executioner, and deals sudden death from the sky, and to other innocent civilians, including women and children in the immediate vicinity of the unmanned drone's missles.
As to your questions on why black youth seem to be so prevalent to criminal acts, and suffer the discipline enforced upon them by the sociey they seek to victimize, its really a socio economic thing caused primarily by the great prevalence of out of wedlock child bearing by black women whose liaisons with black men who will hot take the honorable and necessary role of family man creates the poverty and hopelessness and breakdown of moral code in the ghettos of our country's major cities. This is not true of surburban or rural areas of our nation, for there it is often white youth who make up the majority of the criminal element, although the crime there is no way as pervasive or violent as in the black ghettos. And it is the black community that is the greatest victimized by the criminals in their midst. There is more killing of black citizens, and rapes, muggings, thefts, and terrorising in our country done at the hands of blacks then any other segment of our society, for all the racebaiting tactics of a liberal media over the Trayvon Martin shooting incident you referenced. The key to deliverance from these crimes lies within the black communites themselves. Family, Religion, Education, Economic Self Help. Time to realize that a Robert Johnson or even a Herman Cain, for example, just might be a better role model in the black communities than is a Spike Lee or a 2 Pak Shakur, know what I mean, Danny?
As to your message of love one another, first we have to respect each other! Without respect there can be no love. And before we can respect each other, we have to learn to respect ourselves, and that means living a life worthy of respect. That is a given of the human condition.
