Mitt Romney is officially the Republican party's nominee for President of the United States after passing the delegate threshold with his victory in the Texas primary last night. As the real election season builds up here are some stories our staff is thinking about.
- President Obama calls to congratulate his official opponent
- Mitt Romney's popularity spikes among women voters
- How Congressman Sylvestre Reyes' anti-pot lobbying cost him his job
- Florida election official on voter purge: "There will be more names"
- Romney touts constitutional amendment disqualifying several former Presidents
- Rep. Artur Davis on why he's switching parties
- Planned Parenthood endorses Obama
- Child's shocking anti-gay church performance
- Republican throws tempter tantrum at state legislature

I am very proud of our president. Good for him. Showing us once again love trumps hate. But I don't want him to be too nice this election season. Reps are playing dirty.
About Romney & Trump, I think the media is wrong as usual. Romney already told you he will do anything to get 50.1% of the votes. Those are his words. What more prove do you need? He is willing to cut off his legs & sell them to the
devil just for power, to get to the white house. Reps craves power like their
life depends on it but once they get it, they always mess up. Look at history.
Their bad policy of catering to the rich, always pull the country down. Dem
comes & cleans it up. And history repeats itself again. Trump is not
leading Romney. It is the other way around. Romney proves over & over that
he is a weasel & a coward. He exemplifies the definition. He will never aim
directly. He hides behind others. As he hide behind super-pac to destroy Gingrich.
The media should call him out on it.
Romney has always been
a racist from his childhood. He was raised a racist Mormon. Over 60 yrs of
racist behavior don’t just disappear. Trump is saying exactly what Romney has
been dying to say. Romney & his wife Ann, during their interview, what they
said about Obama, plus Romney’s accommodation of racial innuendoes proves that
he believe that our president doesn’t belong in the white house because he is
black. But he can’t say it directly, so he recruits people to say it for him.
He is gaining from Trump & it is not money only money. If the media don’t start
reporting it correctly, Romney will continue to use racial innuendoes & call
our president racial names through Trump. Romney also wants to distract people
from the economy since he is no longer running on it because it is getting
better despite Reps obstructionism. He also wants to distract the media from
asking him about Bain & his bad plans for the country. Horrible plans that
he doesn’t want people to know.
Romney & the GOP
have all these secret meeting on how to hurt this President. So, they are just
putting their planned strategy into action. You are being fooled, if you think
any of their plan is off the table because they were exposed, quite the
contrary. They are adding more to it. The question is, are Dems up to the
challenge. It is a dirty political dance. Nonetheless, a political dance that
is crucial for the future of our country & everything we believe in. This
country (including the courts) has been hijacked by right-wing crazies. We must
beat them in November to overturn ‘citizens united/money in politics,’ or things
will never be the same. Reps prove to us time after time, how low they are willing
to go. For them, there is no bottom.
What a shame. We
should be setting example. The entire world is watching and they love Obama. All
eyes are on Romney, the GOP, & now Trump. They are watching this crown
show. Our political discourse shouldn’t be full of racism. They have done
things to this president that I never thought they will every do. Nobody
deserves this kind of treatment. He is not made of stone. No wonder the world
hate us. Look at how we treat our own president because of his color. To try to
cover-up their racism, Reps lie & say it is his policy that they dislike, but
they are not fooling anyone. What they are doing, couldn’t be clearer. They do
it openly to raise money with their hate, using him to make money. Now, they definitely
have it both ways. However in November, we will make it clear to them once
again that sure behavior will not be tolerated. Love always trumps hate.
i AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY.
Only those who are ignorant of the GOP's not caring what they are doing to our country or the American people. Their ONLY purpose is to get OBAMA out of office and get back to the GOP Bush agenda.
The GOP made huge fortunes during those years of wars and manipulating our Wall Street. And they will do and say anything including letting our American economy collapse to achieve their goal.
They crashed our markets, caused our credit rating around the world to drop, stopped every jobs bill that the Democrats have tried to get passed to create millions of jobs.
JUST HOW IGNORANT ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE????
THE WORLD IS ASKING??? DO WE REALLY WANT TO STAND ALONE???
THE WORLD HAS BEEN WATCHING MITT ROMNEY. WHICH COUNTRY DO YOU THINK WOULD FOLLOW HIS LEAD???
Are you quite through with your racist and bigotted rant, Vbest?
Heard today on the comedy channel, a joke told by a black comedian; "When the white brothers ask me if I'm going to vote for Obama because he's black, I tell them, 'no man', I'm voting for him cause he ain't white!" LOL!
Oh My Keith...
I hope that you can keep your since of humor when you find yourself drafted into the GOP war machine to straighten out all the countries around the world including Russia and China.
The GOP has got to have that OIL...
Romney AND THE GOP wants more money going into a military build up.
If you are under 50 start learning to salute..The GOP is ready for more military action WITH our military already stretched so thin it is breaking up in very stategic locations. Wars are money makers and they do lower the population problem. A grave is not selective to color or gender. Vote Romney and line up to fight his cause...Greed

And I served my time in military service during the Kennedy and Johnson persecution of the Viet Nam War as a Cold Warrior in Europe facing down the Soviet Block nations on active duty and 3 years of reserve duty, and went on to 25 years of human services employments with the Department of Veteran's Administration and Department of the Army; and my son served for over 21 years from Clinton's 1st term of office thru Obama's 1st year in office.
Got that?
Can we get some coverage on the Bilderberg conference happening this weekend at the Westfields Marriot in Chantilly, VA?
Thank you!
Economy is in going down the toilet bowl again, the unemployment rate is on its way back up, and the inpending debt limit breaching by Labor Day has the non partisan Congressional Budget Office warning of severe trouble ahead if this Administration and Congress don't get on the stick and work out a sane plan of cuts in Government spending and incentives to the business sector, instead of the slew of controls in over regulation, and threats to tax.
But since Labor Day of 2011, Obama has been about campaigning for reelection, and free spending without a budget restraint (thanks to Harry Reid and the Democrats in the Senate) with more borrowed dollars to grease the wheels of the election process with his favored interest groups.
Oust the mudder freakers in November, and lets get on with getting this country on the right path...that's what the majority of American people say when asked what support they give to this President and his Party in Congress!
By the way, the real unemployment rate measuring those that simply have stopped looking for work, have run out of unemploment benefits, and/or are working only in underpaid, parttime employment that would much rather have full time jobs is 14.8%, not the 8.2 percent that the Labor Department reports. But of the 8.2% number, only 7.8% applies to male workers, That make of the women would be employed much more than 9% unemmployed rate. And for all the vaunted slow growth of the past two years, the fact remains that there are 500,000 fewer people employed in this country now then in the last hear of George Bushes administration, and far fewer people in actively seeking work in the labor force, for all the increase of employment age population and legal immigration we have experienced in the past three and 1/2 years.
Something has to change folks, and the candidate of "hope and change" of 2008 has done nothing in those regards, so why should he be returned to office in 2012?
