A new Reuters poll out today shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by seven points among registered voters, 49 to 42 percent. The president also came out ahead on six out of eight key issues: taxes, healthcare, Medicare, Social Security, the war on terror and Afghanistan. The other two big issues in question — the economy and immigration — showed them in a statistical tie.
Will Romney be able to narrow the gap with voters? Give us your last word in the comment section below.

I've always thought that Romney would be able to put up a good fight against President Obama. I still believe that, and conceptually I can understand how he can win; but from an objective standpoint, I just don't see it.
If there were one element that I believe will help to secure Obama's second term, it will be the extraordinary grassroots effort he and his campaign have been preparing these many months. They're going to hit Romney right where he's weakest... his inability to connect with your average, hardworking American.
Romney could never bring together a grassroots effort the likes of which Obama has done. He could never bring together a grassroots effort the likes of which Bush did in 2004; and much to his misfortune, he won't be able to capitalize on the people's fear of terrorism like Cheney did.
Yes, the economy will be the deciding factor; but with receding gas prices and the unemployment rate continuing to drop, Romney is going to have a tough time making his "Obama made it worse" argument work.
It didn't work tonight in N.C.
West Virgina made a statement last night as well. 1/3 of democrats voted for a Texas prison inmate over President Obama, What does that say. Wisconsin primary turnout was virtually tied between Walker and all the Democratic candidates, Walker have 1000 more.
When you talk about grass roots a 20 point margin for the Republican challenger in Indianapolis that was supported by the tea party. looks to me that the grass roots are showing up in protest of incumbents and big government.
You got one thing right President Obama has a huge hidden bank role from the bail out that will go to modivate many on the ground.
Obama will win. I know.
It says that 1/3 of the WV voter are idiots.
Romney can win if the American voter is successfully brainwashed with the outright lies that are hurled at the president. Truth is the first casualty here, with virtue and dignity lined-up for the next firing squad. Romney and a teabag-wearing majority in the House will make America the greatest empire ever to fall in the history of civilization. Stupid on a scale of biblical proportion ought to do it. God help us if this happens...
The state of the economy pi** poor numbers dont lie, and the arguments over the economnic, high unemployment, Medicare and Social Security going bankrupt, a path of fiscal ruin with the out of control spending and borrowing, zero energy policy, and faltering defense posture will be the issues that dominate the election, for all the nonsense that the leftist media (like MSNBC) puts forth as social issues that are only meant to distract the voter from the serious issues above. (such as all the recent hue and cry for Gay Marriage "rights", or non-existant wars on women's access to contraception, for example!).
President Mitt? He won't be able to pull that rabbit out of the hat on his own merit. Oh yes all the racists will come out to vote but so will the the Latinos and African Americans. The worry is voter suppression which in my estimation is an early admission of defeat by the Republicans trying to throw the election to a guy as Grover Norquist has said "who has five working digits that can sign the bills that will destroy Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid" . Returning us to the Mc KInley era is the intention of Norquist's Club For Growth (sounds like a twelve year olds idea of a secret society).
Try the sorry gambit of going two years with collecting only half of the payroll taxes that go into the Social Security fund, and looking for another year of the same all to try to get $$$ into consumers hot hands to shore up a faltering, stuttering economy after the abject failure of the nearly $800 billion stimulus funds of deficit spending and jacking the federal annual expenditures up a full 5% of GDP (also deficit financed) above the normal level of 19-20% max of the the nations GDP.
3 years of Obama, and we now have a Debt which is more than 1 full years Gross National Product...the interest cost of that heavy load is going to be hard to bear when the loose as a goose Federal Reserve caused inflation hits in the next year or so, more than it has shown in the prices of gasoline, fuel oil, food, and clothing, already have registered, Carol.
And my sense is there is no one more racist than those that cry racism to denigrate their political opponents. You need to examine that!
Shhh Don't tell anyone but I'm gonna vote multiple times for Romney. I got this idea from the Democrats. Remember Acorn? Of course you don't because you filter that sort of thing right out of your pretty head. Sure it's against the law but laws are meant to be broken. You can turn me in if you want but I'm from florida so I'm sure mt vote won't matter one lick.... Oh wait actually it will :P
Remember the 2010 mid-terms? Whats changed?
Out of control federal government spending and borrowing have gotton even worse, Jeff...and until we the control of the White House and Senate change, that will continue to be the sorry state of our nation, imo.
And all that spending has been done to try to fix the disaster that GWB left. The sir, is fact.
Excuse me? $220 billion to expand federal financing to Medicaid in advance of the Obama Unaffordable Care Act throwing some 30 million people onto the roles in the implementation years as employers (especially small business employers, dropped the sky high premiums of federally mandated one size fits all insurance products for their employees. Another $240 billion in direct aide to the states for them to shore up their sagging state tax coffers which came from the shock of a financial meltdown caused by Wall Street investment bankers push for more and more risky housing mortgage loans to underserving homebuyers and doubling down on those risky investments by gambling in the credit default market. That wasn't on George Bushes shoulders, it was on the same foks that harkened to Alan Greenspans, Federal Reserve Emperor under three administrations, who 1)during the Clinton Administration defeated attempts by a Republican controlled Congress to reign in an put controls of regulation on the burgnoning credit default market, and all parties that had the ever expanding home ownership goals for our citizenzry front and center, not the least of which were the Democrats in Congress.
Then there was the $230 billion or so that went to Democratic congressional districts for a myriad of spending projects, to shore up the incumbants facing reelection in 2010. Fat lot of good that did for the economy as it was mostly ill spent in what were assuredly "non shovel ready projects" dreamed up for the express purpose of spending the windfall of federal dollars.
Here is a warning signal for Obama supporters. The Union folks trying to rally the Wisconsin voters to the polls for the Democrat primary decision on what candidate they will get behind to attempt to defeat Governor Walker in the recall election in Wisconsin were swamped by the hell bent for leather going to make a change Republican and Independent voters to turned out to vote for Governor Walker in the Republican Primary, and their was no contest their as he was running unopposed. The total number of Democrat Party and Independent voters that turned out for the two Domocrat primary candidates combined in their contested Primary was less than those that went to the polls to show their support for Walker. So you do the math as to which way Wisconsin is going to go this year in the National Election!
Watch June 5th recall election results in Wisconsin for another clue!
George W. Bush has been ignored for months in the Republican presidential campaign.
But his absence has been more pronounced in recent days as Romney trumpeted endorsements
from the former president's father and younger brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and spent two days courting donors in Texas.
George W. Bush, who lives in Dallas, did not attend any of Romney's half-dozen Texas fundraisers.
He also isn't expected to follow his family's migration to Romney's camp anytime soon.
Political strategists say Republicans would be best served by not reminding voters of the Bush legacy
of gaping budget deficits, two wars and record-low approval ratings.
There have been rumors that he may also be showing signs of pre-senile dementia.
Is he being hidden for a reason??

Obama's a shoe in. Heck I'm not even voting cuz it's a done deal... Smooooooth sailing. We gots DIS! Ahhhhh Yeah
Romney may be a sociopath - see one description
Profile of the Sociopath
Evaluating Romney as a teenage prankster for qualification as President? Really? How about you evaluate Obama as a young adult, say about 18-22 years old as a drug addict(cocaine, pot etc) a bully towards women (read his books) and, yes, sad to say a racist of his own admittion. This is what happens when a candidate only gets vetted by the liberal press.
Yeah, let's get President Romney to get rid of every piece of legislation that remains against Wall Street Casino, credit card usury and useless health insurance when you actually get sick. Romney spoke on record about bankruptcy for GM when there was no bankruptcy financing for GM at all. About respecting Pakistan sovereignty on finding Osama Bin Laden.
