So Rodney is going to be celebrating a 20 year aniversary.
This guy wasn't pulled over and stopped for "DWB" or "driving while black", he was stopped for his reckless druken driving and trying to flee police, the kind of actions that usually wind up injuring and sometimes killing other innncent people. And King was a very big man physically who with whiskey courage was attempting to fight to flee the police trying to apprehend him. Most of the blows he suffered by night sticks were to his arms and legs as they sought to restrain his physically resisting them.
Unquestionably he suffered a beating, but it was his own drunken physical assaultiveness that brought it on. If he had got out of the car, hit the pavement, and spread 'em as ordered, that never would have happened.
He had his share of continued run ins with the law, even after his civil suit againstthe police was settled and he subsequently blew through 3.8 million, usually revolving around alcohol abuse. It took him a long time to come to the realization that he was destructive to himself and a danger to others. Let's hope he truely has learned some lessons in his life, but those comments about the Martin shooting don't give me much hope of that, as he sees Martin as another racially profiled "victim", instead of an trespassing assaultive big man 6'3" tall that in starting and continuing a fight bought the bullet that killed him, so to speak.

Did you not understand the fact that he was refusing to pull over for police and was trying to outrun them in a Hyundai which is like DWS (driving while stupid), not DUI. Then there was the little something about when they forced him over as it took several cruizers to stop his attempts to escape, he came out of the car fighting?

Sometime its going to be time to give up the "poor victim me", take responsibility for your actions, and join the rest of the nation, get down to assimilating, and carry your own water..know what I mean?
