Mikey appears to have left the building, but unfortunately also appears to have left the message on his answer machine unchanged.
@ SL Cabbie: I have noticed that, too. Very well put.
I am not a Romney fan either, but please stay classy, folks.
Dorothea, I don't find myself bound by any "turn the other cheek" constraints, and I don't know any way to remain polite to proven liars who persist with their shameless and deliberate dissembling.
Now as a woman, I think you may find the following interesting. Once again, it comes from the "Ask a Mormon" library in cyber-space.

Can Mitt talk to women?
A longtime Mormon feminist says no -- and tells Salon that Ann Romney has changed her tune on stay-at-home moms
She described herself as “irritated” by last week’s “war on moms” rhetoric, and in the conversation, Dushku expressed stinging criticism of Mitt Romney’s attitudes toward women.
But she also zeroed in on Ann Romney’s position from her husband’s first Massachusetts campaign. It was Romney’s attitude that really struck Dushku: “She acted like it was such an easy question to answer. She didn’t understand [staying at home] was a luxury that only a few people can afford.” Dushku says she and a friend who attended actually felt sorry for Romney, coming away thinking, “Ann just does not understand these issues."
“He’s not a man who has a moral core,” she said. “He’s very loyal to the Mormon church, pays his tithing, is faithful to his wife, but he doesn’t have a set of core values you can count on.”
Dushku says she saw that firsthand in what is probably her most high-profile clash with Romney – when she went to the Boston Globe during that 1994 Senate race with the story of her friend, later identified as fellow Exponent II member Carrel Hilton Sheldon. Late in her pregnancy, Sheldon’s doctors discovered that Sheldon had a dangerous, potentially life-threatening blood clot. Sheldon’s Mormon stake president, a doctor, counseled her to have an abortion, which was also her preference, and to care for her four existing children. Romney, however, “regaled me with stories of his sister and her retarded child and what a blessing that child had been to the family.
BTW. the condescending and patronizing attitude Romney displays toward women is fairly representative of many "authoritarian" Mormon males. I note that while blacks were permitted to hold the priesthood beginning in 1979 (with the Etch-a-Sketch historians scrambling to re-write the past on that one), women still are not permitted to hold the LDS Priesthood.
I don't find myself bound by any "turn the other cheek" constraints
Me neither! I am not a god botherer. However, MSNBC is a news channel, not a comedy channel. The show's segments should be created accordingly. If a German news show aired such a compilation, the anchor would lose his credibility. I just want TLW to be a high-quality show.

Thanks for all the info, but you don't need to convince me that Romney is ineligible. Is this respect, I'm on your side already.
I don't know any way to remain polite to proven liars
If you dislike lying politicians so much, then please also remember this lie on "60 Minutes" from 2008.
Kroft: "There are a number of different things that you could do early pertaining to executive orders. One of them is to shutdown Guantanamo Bay. [...] Are those things that you plan to take early action on?"
Obama: "Yes. I have said repeatedly that I intend to close Guantanamo, and I will follow through on that."
once again cabbie bashes the mormon faith while defending islam which advocates stoning women to death. btw the secret service talked to nugent yesterday admitting he said nothing wrong as he wasnt taken into custody and no charges were filed. now i ask you cabbie. dont you feel stupid?
MSNBC is simply jealous of the Daly and Colbert show ratings, and trying to emulate same from the Comedy channel's proven success with the viewers, Dorothea.
And don't be holding your breath hoping and waiting for this network to get "classy"!
Their "talant" on the evening commentary shows are about as close to a class act as our on again off again addicted sour stomached and enbittered minded cab driver real life drop out displaying once again his incredibly bigoted thought processes on blaming all of his perceived failings on the Mormons.
Much as the Jews served the Germans in the Weimar Republic era and its aftermath, ya know?
According to the haters like the cab driver, these are heritic cultists money grubbers with a decided patriachial bent....see the similarity? If people like the cab driver had their way, they'd all be rounded up and put into concentration camps out on in the Canyon lands, while their assets and properties are confiscated and "redistributed" out of a sense of "fairness", with good amounts of the spoils going to lifes failures who haven't found the energy and discipline to make do for themselves.
But I agree, lets get on with a proper discussion here of the real issues...the economy, the eonomy, and the economy, and Obama's sorry lack of a clue on what to do about it and his past ill conceived practices and policies which he seems to want only to doubledown on now!

Okay, you probably won't hear this again from me, but I think in this case you could actually be right.

No, I don't. What happened in Germany was due to (perceived) race, not religion. I think that SL Cabbie just wants state and religion to be separated and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Criticising a politician's attitudes is totally valid.
