For what it's worth, I researched Keith and he actually has been a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist associated with the military. I also checked some public data from Ft. Lewis - so I have no doubt that the rest of his stated background is truthful. With degrees in psychology, economics and public administration, Keith has the capacity for high quality posting and could actually make a real contribution to this blog. He did pay his dues and he did serve his country. So if he wants to troll away his hours rather than doing something productive - I guess he's entitled - it just seems a waste.

That doesn't mean he isn't full of crap, particularly on the subject of addictions. His background is particularly dated. All of the research on addictions/codependency, and dysfunctional family dynamics "dovetailed" when i was working in the field in the late 80's and early 90's. I know, because as an ethical sort, I "did the work" on my own issues (at considerable "political price"). His charges against me--and accusations that Chris Matthews was drinking and that the President did more than experiment with cocaine--are pretty diagnostic of the "professional denial" I saw with the attendant delusional projections. From a clinical standpoint, he seems to have learned what "process comments" are and little else. In short, he's long on hot air and short on substance--and empathy--and I'm confident most people who visit here recognize that reality.

He came here with some marked racist views, insisting George Zimmerman was a victim of "a grand conspiracy of race baiting" in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, and none of the background you've identified would point to any qualifications to make the sort of "legal claims" he made.

Similarly, his rants here have demonstrated he's a "talking points parrot" on the subject of anthropogenic global warming. By contrast, even though I'm only a very modest environmental writer/activist, I was invited by the former head of the Utah Chapter of the United Nations to attend a university-level presentation on fossil fuels and AGW. I sat quietly, took a lot of notes, and realized the scientists I was listening to knew their stuff. Global warming is no hoax; it may prove to be the most formidable challenge the human race faces today, and it is unconscionable to ignore its existence and not advocate measures to mitigate its effect (and I say this having concluded that Al Gore is essentially a self-centered phony who would've made only a marginally better president than George W. Finally, from the literature on narcissism, it is well accepted that narcissists become particularly enraged when people attempt to hold them accountable for their boorish and abusive behavior. His explosions here are evidence of that, and yes, I've "played him like a fish" because I've felt the disruptions he brings are diagnostic of a disruptive agenda rather than one conducive to dialogue and teamwork. That I've been able to repeatedly do so is because I was "privy" to higher level "Black Ops" in psychology than he was. There was a "mindset" in the military during the 1960's that people could be "bullied" into doing effective work; the behavioral school I was trained under ultimately recognized the short-sighted futility of such methodologies (See "For Your Own Good" by Alice Miller). Seriously, can you imagine trying to be part of a treatment team with such an individual? I mean I can be intimidating and even opinionated, but in the first crisis line training I had I learned to listen to what was being said to me and not reject it offhand.

I'm keeping the kryptonite handy for his Superman complex. From a historical perspective, I'll suggest his tactics are nothing more than re-invented McCarthyism, and we know how that era turned out.
