The Secret Service is keeping tabs on gun-loving '70s rocker Ted Nugent after he made an apparent threat against President Obama over the weekend.
At a convention for the National Rifle Association in St. Louis, the Romney-endorser declared, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.'' Always the outspoken one, he also told the gun enthusiasts "our government is wiping its ass with the Constitution" and denounced the "criminal" Obama's "vile, evil America-hating administration."
The Nuge concluded his rant by encouraging Republicans to get all "Braveheart" on Dems. He advised Romney supporters "to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
Um, yes (many hands raise).
The Secret Service is so already on it. A spokesman for organization told New York Magazine, "We are aware of it, and we'll conduct an appropriate follow up."
DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz criticized the incendiary remarks in an email, also dropping the Romney connection. "Threatening violence — or whatever it is that Nugent's threatening — is clearly beyond the pale, but Nugent's not the one running for president,'' said Wasserman Schultz. "The question is: Does Romney agree with him? Right now, we don't know.''
Team Romney responded to the Nugent flap, but didn’t exactly condemn his comments either. "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from. Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil,'' said Andrea Saul, Romney's spokeswoman.
Should there be more outrage or concern from Team Romney? Tweet me your reaction or drop me a line in the comment section below.

Listen up fools ... rant about Nugent, complain about the repubs, get as nasty as you want about Romney... Why???? Simple you have nothing to hang your hats on that this failing pres and is entire administration have accomplished!!! talk about Lies and liers look at this JOKE of a president ... He can't even try to run on his record... so what to do you might ask??? Same old democratic garbage blame bush hahahah fools
LOL some more thanks again for that deep belly laugh. but you need to place a snark or \sacr tag.
LOL but i am sure you will get it.
I guess fedup missed that Joe Biden tweet...
Osama Bin Laden is dead, and General Motors is hiring...
democrats could never be as nasty to mitt as the repubs in washington are to our President.
Ted Nugent proves not only is patriotism the last refuge of a scoundrel, but it is a leading virtue of the vicious. I hope he sinks romney's boat. I'm hoping he has brain parasites from eating those murdered animals he brags about, at least then he would have a excuse and is not merely an ignorant loud mouth terrorist advocate. Nugent is first in line for poster boy for gun control. Since he is apparently as much gutless as clueless he won't die for his beliefs, jail or hospital for the criminally insane are suitable places for him. He would be just another pathetic nutcase if he didn't have so many guns around him.
Love the show.
Nugent is showing how ignorant he is.
The last president to print more money than that was Bush (the TARP bailout).
Nugent is actually complaining about Bush, but he isn't smart enough to "connect the dots". I'm thinking too much drugs.
It might be a good idea to explain how money works on one of your segments.
All of treasury funds printed by the US mint are loaned to other banks through the Federal Reserve system.
That is why all of the money in your wallet has "federal reserve note" printed on it. All $ is traceable to the US mint through the Fed.
The Federal Reserve sets the Federal Fund Rate for US Treasury Notes (federal loan interest rate).
The Federal Reserve also sets the margin rate.
The President appoints 1 of the sitting Fed board members to be chairman for a 4 year term. The other Fed members are appointed by POTUS and confirmed by congress for 14 year terms.
That is how the president influences the interest rate and the economy.
Private money is also created when customers put money into banks as investments. Up to 80% of investment funds can be loaned out by the bank, but 20% must be retained for cutover demand. The 20% that must be retained by the bank is called the "margin". Each $100 put into a long-term deposit becomes up to $180 through this process as loans mature (mortgages, credit cards, auto loans, ...). This means banks create money out of thin air using investment funds.
The Federal Reserve insures bank deposits in case there is a run on the bank that depletes all their money.
Commercial banks historically set the "prime" interest rate 3% above the Federal Fund rate (interest rate for loan customers with the best credit rating).
The mint can't just "print money" to pay for stuff. That's been illegal since the 1930s.
All money prated by the Treasury has to go through the banking system via the Fed.
The 80% loan limit is called "margin". The banking margin rate in the US is established by the Federal Reserve at 20%.
Banks usually pay an interest rate to investors, which is between 30% and 60% of the interest that is payed by loan customers (mortgages and car payments).
Interest is also called "leverage", because the lower the interest rate, the larger the loan that a customer can afford based on their qualifying income.
That is why Pres. Obama (via Ben Bernaki) lowered the Federal Fund Rate to about 0.2%.
Secured bank loans are used to pay for durable goods, like real estate and automobiles.
Securities that exceeds the face value of the loan is called "wealth", which accumulates slowly as loans are payed off. Wealth declines when demand declines. Real estate collapsed in 2008 because the population declined by about 4 million, which created abandoned real estate and banking failures.
The Federal Reserve lowers the prime interest rate to reduce deflation. The Fed can also modify the margin rate to expand/contract the money supply. About half the total wealth in the US exists as real estate.
Obama lowered the prime interest rate to stimulate the economy in 2009, which allowed banks to expand the money supply using leverage, which restored some of the wealth that was lost when the population declined.
The federal mint prints money to replace currency that has worn out. The federal mint usually prints the amount of money that keeps inflation near 4%.
If bank customers with savings accounts demand all their money back all at once, the bank will be unable to pay. This is called "insolvency", and that usually occurs when reserves fall below 20%.
The Federal Reserve is 15 regional banks that insure all bank investments in the US, so that customers with savings will be payed in the event the bank becomes insolvent and unable to pay without assistance. This is called FDIC insurance. Similar systems exist for credit unions and S&Ls.
Money used to be based on gold before the 1930s but that was too unstable, and our modern monetary system was invented by FDR and congress during his first 100 days in office when gold investment was outlawed.
Nixon messed the whole thing up by legalizing gold as an investment during the 1970s because gold interferes with how much control the Fed has over the economy.
The value of money goes down as demand increases, so increased demand for gold devalues currency. China is having a MAJOR problem with this right now. Their economy is about to implode because everyone wants to trade their Yuan for gold.
umn ted never did drugssssss! he was never into drugs!proven fact!
I mean after all how many presidents would offer a gold medal to our troops to lay their weapons down in Iraq?
LOL
guess teds trying for a speakers spot at the convention in Tampa.
Do you all hear yourselves??? bla bla bla Have you seen or even care what this terrible President and his entire administration has done to this once great country !!! You dems can blame Nugent, make fun of Romney or his family, try to group all repubs together ! Why must you do this ???? Because this President has failed at everything he has touched...This is why he will not even try to fake it and run on his record!!!! Such short memories you dems have... Do some research and start with the cash for clunkers ,all the way through his great push ( of our tax money ) in the solar market .. WOW how impressive is this guy??? So if you don't agree with this, then just do what you dems have always done.... blame Bush !
you're uninformed and a fox news tool -
try turning them off and stay away from lying rightwing blogs and do your own research, if yo have any intelligence to do that.
sick,
there IS alot to blame bush for.
the iraqi war-over a trillion dollars spent on a war that had NOTHING to do with 9/11.
over 4500 troops taken as collaterol damage in a war based on a lie.
the corrupt collapse of wall street and our economy.
the outing of a CIA agent, Valarie Plame, because her husband, Joe Wilson, wouldn't lie about WMD in iraq for the bush administration (scooter libby took the fall for cheney, karl rove also involved in that).
i could go on, but i think you get it.
i understand why you hate it when the President blames W. i know you hate to be reminded of the ignorance and stupidity of W. bush. W. bush did the same thing to Clinton, and reagan did the same thing to Carter and vice versa. stop acting like repubs never blame their predessor. reagan and bush blamed carter and clinton well into their 2nd terms as president.
President Obama has ALOT TO BLAME bush FOR. even though you all hate it, the american people need to remember how we got in this mess, and President Obama should remind them as often as possible so we don't elect another repub (mitt) to do the same things W. bush did.
as far as i am concerned, President Obama doesn't bring up the failed policies of W. often enough.
floposhi, I think you are missing a few links!!!!!
You're a liar mika.
me lie? the no spin zone starts with me. i await apoligizes from the people in here i educated.
mika,
you sound rather ignorant, with all due respect.
I thought Charlie Manson was denied parole.
Exactly.
So Ted Nugents a bit of a wacko.. ( too much partying maybe...) I think he's exagerating what he would do... But: He's Right though: Senor Obama is Robbing You, ( And every American of their Constitutional rights) :
HOW?????
Ted Nugent never did drugs, proven Fact! but you are right about Obama!
Breaking News: POTUS reports @TedNugent will soon be a Guest at Guantanamo. He did not indicate whether it will be voluntary or not!
Lawrence this guy is just another Rush Limbaugh. Make those type of statements to get the gun crazies and racists to do what he wants to do but he is too much of a coward. Remember Limbaugh said as much the same thing. Was it Obama needs to be gotten rid of? People like that need to be put in jail for making those type of statements but they are free making statements inciting the crazies to do their dirty work. They always claim 1st amendment freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is never free and he needs to be put in jail.
Gladys,
remember the death of Dr. Tiller after Bill Oreilly ranted about "Tiller, Tiller the baby killer" for months on end?
this is what "free speech" is to the repubs.
under the "umbrella" of free speech, repubs (oreilly, hannity, limbaugh) think they can say anything they want.
they don't stop to think that just because you CAN say something, IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD DO IT.
they are the first, however, to demand an apology if a democrat exercises their right to free speech.
i see a big difference between (ann romney) "hasn't worked a day in her life", and Fluke is "a slut and a prostitute" and other horrible things for 9 hours over 3 days.
as a general rule, democrats DO apologize, while repubs like allen west dig in their heels, and NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING SAID.
limbaugh did apologize after losing several sponsors, not because he thought it was the right thing to do.
Nugent is one of the most arrogant and disrespectful people of modern times. He puts Rush Limbaugh to shame. But most troubling is the fact that conservatives hold him in high regard. What happened to the William F. Buckleys of the conservative movement!
Buckley's magazine, National Review, fired his son Patrick when he endorsed Barack Obama in 2008... Worse, Patrick noted in a memorial essay that one of WFB's best friends at the end was George McGovern...
Nice tolerant folks, those New Age Conservatives...
Mika. I did google it, the only websites who are talking about it are blogger sites, and since when is that considered credible news?
I guess that's why you righties are all so insane, you google a blogger and take it as news.
I need to start a blog with pure nonsense just to see how many people like you take it seriously. I bet there will be a lot
Ted Nugent Is One Evil Dude! (Tooned)
Shock rocker Ted Nugent added to provocative comments he made at the NRA convention. The Secret Service will visit him to discuss his remarks about President Obama.
I really have to question Nugent's level of education/intelligence. Pres. Obama saved the biggest industry in MI, which BTW, is now doing quite well thanks to the 'bail out' (loan) and to people who actually do work for a living. The Republicans are all screaming against him for doing it. Now, Nugent & others call the President anti-American & threaten violence against him. Maybe Nugent should take "motorcity" out of his "madman" name because it sure doesn't sound like he cares about Detroit or Michigan or the American working people. Just stupid, I guess!
Maybe Nugent should take "motorcity" out of his "madman" name
Ted MotorMouth Madpunk Nugent.
as we all know he is no way close to being a MAN!
touche', pilotshark (:
In his day, Nugent was nothing more than a 2-bit first back up band at every festival concert you went to so if you have ever been to a concert you know where that puts him (bottom of the barrel). No one ever went to a Ted Nugent concert - they just didn't exist. apparently 3 songs doesn't make for a very secure retirement so is he trying desperately to reinvent himself, maybe to take the place of another drug-crazed fool, Rush Limbaugh. So Please young people, recognize this old worn-out has-been for what he is. And take this from someone who's been around and has time to analyze what is going on, a vote for the Republican ticket, certainly the romney ticket, unless you are mega rich, is a vote against yourselves.
Honestly, Ted Nugent and the NRA? Is anyone really shocked here? Just confirms what we all knew about him already. Nothing new under the sun, I'm afraid. Just a stupid man displaying his stupidity, while he thinks it makes him look like a big boy in front of an audience of gun lovers. Fortunately, I was raised and taught to see through such idiocy on display.
Melissa:
While 'those weren't the words I would have chosen to use' (just kidding, of course, ha ha), do you suppose in his over the top style that Nugent, an avid hunter that supplies his family with unadultered by force fed or injected hormones wild game meats and birds and fowl as a key part of their diet might have simply been citing his concern that Obama's Administration would if reelected move to enact severe restrictions on gun ownership? He might even go the kid of unconstitutional route as he is attempting on restricting carbon through regulations of the EPA by having the Bureau of Alcoho, Tobacco and Firearms. Some very serious people believe the purpose of the Fast and Furious scheme was to move guns from U.S. lawful gun shops to Mexico so that they could be later traced back and a hue and cry raised on how we were feeding the drug cartel violence, and hence needed to have a new wave of gun restrictions by law or fiat! Nugent did reference the Constitution and 2nd anendment as a part of his out of control rant! Reminds me of the kind of sentiment during the Clinton Administration by the popular with NRA supporters bumper sticker "You can have my gun after you pry it from my cold, dead fingers!"
That "Braveheart" statement was kind of metaphorical for what he was calling on his audience to accomplish with their votes in November, and not a real call to sords for head chopping executions, don't you think?
Keith: I think if Obama wanted to enact severe gun restrictions he would have done it by now. Instead he has focused on peaceful legislation, i.e. providing medical coverage to all Americans regardless of pre-existing conditions, etc., etc... which the Republicans constantly scream about. I'm really not sure what you mean by "restricting carbon through regulations of the EPA by having the ATF." (?) but I really believe restricting carbon emissions has nothing to do with the constitution or firearms.
lori:
He tried and failed to get carbon tax provisions thru Congress, and therefore he is attempting to get the EPA do accomplish that even if there is no sound scientific evidence that carbon is a POLLUTANT! Carbon is the life stuff of everything vegatative, afterall. Carbon monixide sulfurous oxides and lead arsenic might be pollutants from the burning of fosile fuels, but carbon definitely is not, the hysterics over "global warming" of the past 10 years besides.
Sorry I botched that sentence on the EPA regs as being comparable to what he would try to accomplish with the ATF regulatory power (I was correcting typos and neglected to finish the sentence), as he knows darn well that he will have no luck getting any restrictions on gun ownership and open or concealed carry through Congress, just as he could not on the Carbon tax legislation.
Keith: But carbon is only a partial result of burning fossil fuels & as you admitted, the poisonous byproducts are the danger. So, do you propose that we environmentalists insist on a tax of the poisonous byproducts instead? Six of one, half dozen of another... The measure was an attempt to move industry to invest in alternate energy, which, whether any of us likes it or not, is inevitable.
Its pie in the shy. Nuclear energy and natural gas can succusfully augment our energy needs while gaining more of our necessary oil from Candada and Mexico.
Coal emmissions can be scrubbed for sufurous oxides and arsenic removal. Carbon monixide once dissapated does not remain as a pollutant as its a gas. Windmill farms take up more real estate than does coal strip mining, and the environmental integrity can't be recovered for eventual timber and agricultural use once they are errected. Their electrical energy output along with solars limited output (its more effective at heating water, possibly) is tremendously expensive due to the high costs of the capital outlay for startup and maintenance.
Electrical cars are good for models and toys, perhaps. The bigger ones that can move one or two adults are incredibly expensive, and 1/2 the infkated cost is a limited life battery. The reson no one is buying the Governments mandated by ownership of General Motors Chevy Volt is the same reason no one buys used electrical equipment, be it toasters or computers. Nobody wants a used electrical device, and a used electrical device that relies on a very expensive battery makes that a non seller on the used car market. People still consider their automobiles an investment, with good residual value when they are ready for a new model. That doesn't hold for used electrical autos.
Too, if say 33% of the people in our large metropolitan areas owned and drove electrical vehicles and tried to plug them in regularly for recharging the batteries, the electrical grid couldn't handle the overload.
100 years from now we will still be reliant on Nuclear, Gas, Oil, and Coal primarily for our energy needs. Fossil fuels replaced wood as an energy source over 150 years ago, and its not going to be changed in this century. Face the facts! Then find a way to improve on that, not "transform" that due to some half baked concept that we are dying of carbon poisioning.
Right on Ted, And Its good secret security is tied up in Culumbia you should be ok till they run out of money. Oh thats right they dont pay
where did ted threaten obama!!!!!!! listen you idiots he is for the AMERCIAN PEOPLE!!!!!! OPEN YOUR EYES!!!!!!!
the constitusational rights are what our 4 fathers fought for!!!!!!
I'm sorry but I can't help but say that the 3 previous posts are evidence why no one should listen to Ted Nugent or his supporters. (Colombia, constitutional, and I don't have 4 fathers) and you call me an idiot - good grief!
smiling
well he will not be here long calling everyone Idiots.
just LOL at them. flag them and move on.
