seems in the obama wh male staffers make 18% more money than female staffers. ouch why is the obama wh discriminating against women?
This we know from last night's "Miller Time": the dems infamous charge of a Republican War on Women is a "trojan" war.
Give me your vote and I'll give you co-pay free contraceptives. Cheap, hmmm? How about the fact that 92% of the lost jobs under O'bama and the Dems practices and policies have been lost by women. But he wants to make it up to you by trading you the promise of co-pay free contraceptives if you just sell out your vote.
Oh yes, and O'bama surrogate Hillary Rosen of the Democratic National Committee attacked Ann Romney, Mitts wife and mother of his 5 sons for having "never worked a day in her life" as she choose to be a homemaker taking care of the raising of their children and managing the large household!
Whose waging a war on women here?
Over 1100 anti woman bills last year. Most, 99% sponsored by the GOP. Pull your head out of the sand.
What's an anti-women's bill in a state legislature?
Does not Rowe vs, Wade's Supreme Court ruling specify Ststes have the perogative to regulate the circumstances regarding abortion in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters?
Do they not have the ability to through their Insurance Regulatory Commissions and State Medicaid regulate the coverage of such as the caustic Plan B abortion pill, and the provisions under which minors have access to that without parental notification and approvals?
Taking legislative action at the state level to forestall the Federal Secretary of Health and Human Services enforcing of a flawed conceptually and practically O'bama Health Care Act (affordable for who, exactly) before the burocrats are let loose along with the added 41,000 IRS new agents hired to enforce the mandate provisions is anti whom? Surely not anti-women taxpayers who may neither need nor want the mandated provisions of insurance per the Federal Government?
How about Obama's White House live up to the provisions of the Lily Ledbetter act, and pay their female staff members doing the same work as their male staff members the same pay, instead of an average of 80% or so. Maybe they could pay for some of the cost of their health insurance provisions, therefore, rather than rely on Big Brother to provide for them only as a separate class a co-pay and deduction free coverage on some provisions, whether needed or wanted by the individual?
Get real pinto, get real! Larry O'Donnell famously chastises the Republicans for talking about a War on the Capitalists by Obama and the Dems as being nothing but a politically generated catchphrase, but sure likes to throw this gender "War" around.
Have you not learned that the class, race, and gender splitting by the Democrats is the modus operandi of this party and their candidates? Always has been, always will be.
Ann Romney is full of crap and so is Mitt. Lived near their summer home in Alton Bay, NH and that woman has probably never been to the grocery store without her maid telling her how to shop. Between the house help, the help with the kids and the gardeners, this woman DOES not work. Now that said, I, too, as well as my mother had house help, however, we both had careers outside the home. Ann's career was shopping and doing JUST the fun things with her kids. Also, you NEED to discuss Mormon views. As an EX LDS attender, a Mormon woman is subservient to her husband, is taught from infancy to be a baby factory to populate her husband's celestial kingdom and if she does want to work outside the home, needs her husband's permission. They will lie to you, as Mitt does because they are also taught to lie to hide their secrets. Young girls are taught to get married right out of high school and if abused it is NOT reported it is handled by the Bishops who then declare men "healed" and send then home to repeat. LDS woman do NOT, according to their warped religious beliefs go to the celestial kingdom (heaven I suppose for the rest of you) unless her husband inherits the celestial kingdom no matter how good and faithful and decent that woman is. Are you kidding, they do NOT believe in woman's rights because their very own religion says that woman are second class citizens who can not think and do on their own and that's why the MUST marry young. They do not believe in equality of anything and they think girls are merely for the purpose of procreation and nothing more. Ask any ex Mormon woman how muslim-like the mormon religion is. They all but force their wives to wear burkas. If they could, trust me they would. The Mormon beliefs, not the ones they lie about, but the real way they live and believe and operate, MUST be discussed. It is horrible how they brainwash young girls into thinking that they need to kill themselves having children. If a Mormon's wife dies in child birth it is no big deal because the man remarries immediately. It's disgusting and vile their views on women.
Another sick bigot on this blog! Give it a rest, you are practically foaming at the mouth in that rant above!
lol, give me a break! Ex Mormon's telling you about the Mormon religion and beliefs is honesty not bigotry. Are you Mormon Keith?
And Keith, get some facts straight, Ann's household staff were paid more than the annual pay of a lot of mothers who work AND care for their children.
Anne:
I am a corruptable hedonistic secularist. I am looking for a goog woman to save me however. Know any you could refer me too?
Apparently from what you say about how well paid the Romney household staffers were, there is some truth and efficacy to trickle down economics afterall, hmmm? Imagine that. Good to know! LOL!
Man you aren't very bright. They paid what a lot of women make ($20,000 is not a lot of money and they use immigrant workers)
$20,000 a year is not trickle down, it's drought.
Lawrence, Ann Romney's youngest child turned 18 back in the 20th Century. Since then she's been busy picking out decorations for her vacation homes and the colors for her cars. She is a typical lazy rich person. She has nothing at all in common with American women.
Afflicted with Multiple Schlerosis, fool!
Fool, many women have MS, Lupus, Rumatoid Arthitis and many other deblitating diseases and illness, including cancer...they still work and care for their families without household staff. I have LUPUS and have had Breast Cancer, to use it as a cop out to be as lazy as she is is not an excuse. The point is that the antiquated archaic beliegd of the Mormon's and their chauvanistic views NEED to be discussed publicly as it certainly is an issue for voters. The fact that they believe that a women could not get into the celestial kingdom without their husband getting there is equivalent to christians saying that a women couldn't get into heaven unless her husband gets into heaven. It's the most pathetic, chauvanistic, egostical, ignorant belief system and is very relevant. The fact that Mormons are taught from infancy and it IS ingrained in them that they MUST convert as many people to their faith in order to bring in more income to the church and that IS tied directly to their achieving their celestial kingdom is relevant. The fact that they must populate their celestial kingdom and that is the woman's role above anything else to procreate at her husband's will is very relevant.
Thanks for reminding me; Ann Romney is also a Cancer Survivor. I had a little scare with a bile duct adenomacarcinoma tumor several years back myself, and made it through treatment (cryoablation) with flying colors (knock on wood). Keep strong Anne, keep the faith. And if you were disappointed with your experience with the LDS church, be content to know that for others it is a comfort and a rock, just as are all denominations and faiths. (Gee, I almost gave away my time as a Unitarian/Univeralist!).
However, the state MUST be separate from faith and in a Mormon's case, I believe it not to be possible.
Today we write about “Romney and the gender gap”. Mitt Romney's only hope and there is realistic hope, is for the American electorate’s failure to not consider the bevy of lies Mitt repeatedly articulates in his hopeless campaign. Our concern is that Romney should never have won the Republican Party nomination yet his inevitable victory as the hopeless party’s nominee elucidates his victory coming through a false smear campaign, first against Newt, then Santorum. Republicans are willing to vote for anyone or anything that can remove one of the best President’s from office this country has ever elected. If President Obama loses, it will be because of the dishonest campaign Republicans wage and the disturbing acquiescence of electorate’s faith in Romney and Republican Party lies.
He gave better than he got, Nate. His people and he have a sense of where their opponents' juglars are. That's a good thing to me.
And, one more thing, a charitable contribution is considered a donation, the amount of which an individual chooses to give when an individual chooses to give it. However, LDS 'mandates', yup that lovely word the repubs and Mitt are poopooing, a specified percentage of your GROSS income to the church (everyone is mandated to pay the 'same' percentage, sorta like a flat tax with no deductions or loopholes). To ensure that you "donate???" the mandated percentage, an annual review of your tax return by the church is required.
Kind of like the tything of the New Testament, hmmm?
And I take it from your knowledge and defense of tything that you're all for a straight across the board flat tax sans any deductions and loopholes. Good for you!
The Mormon beliefs MUST be discussed. The public is just touching the surface of how not in touch Mitt is with the rest of the country and the very fundamental reasons why and what the implications could be. For instance, the "egg drop" legislation in Arizona, I believe, is fundamentally deeper than shortening late term abortions to 20 weeks, and no I personally do not believe in abortion except in extreme life or death or long term health issues. Take a look at many who are proposing and pushing these issues, eg, Jeff Flake (a Mormon legislator). At ovulation a women can procreate and that egg, once ovulated, is now the man's property as it is his job to fertilize to populate his celestial kingdom. Regardless of the impacts of overpopulation, the main focus is populating the celestial kingdom. The Romneys brag about their two Cadillacs, and yet the only focus is whoa their out of touch because the average person can not afford two cadillacs for one individual to drive at whim, instead of focusing on environmental impact, as it's apparent the Romneys don't care because they bought two Caddys, and why should they care because it is not this world they care about, it is the celestial kingdom they care about and rapture to get there. None of what I am saying is to tear down a religion, only to explain why the Romneys are completely out of touch with our world, our country, our diverse culture, our economy, OUR reality.
You want to make Romney's Mormon religion a big issue of the Presidential campaign, Anne, you open Obama up to the shrill crys of outrage on his Black Theology background, learned at the feet of Rev.Jeramiah Wright all those years he attended that bigotted racists' church in Chicago. There is enough ill will to go around if you want to persist in slathering on the mud.
Ah you have been revealed, you are the racist. You see, I speak of a church I belonged to for a while and know of what I am speaking. You just spoke of a church you never belonged to and know nothing of what you speak. You also only argue to respect Ann as a baby producer and yet not once tried to argue that Romney is for equal rights and laws ensuring those equal rights. Interensting, you have revealed yourself as one who has no respect for women whatsoever, except for the usefulness to you. You, my friend have revealed yourself as a racist and clearly a chauvansit pig. For this reason I will no longer respond to you as you are sadly ignorant and not wanting to be anything but ignorant.
I am just cautioning you as to the fact that there are those in the poitical discourse that will fight fire with fire! When you sow the seeds of religious bigotry, you will reap the crop of religious bigotry. I was speaking of religious philosophy, and said nothing about race. If are ignorant of what the tenets of Black Theology are, search it on the internet. It's definitely separatist in its view of sociey, not at all transforming or uniting! It sets the foundations for reverse racism!
It is the 'good' Rev. Jerimeah Wright that rails from his pulpit on the Jews and the White oppressors of the black man as a class of peoples. The racism is all in him, not in me. I'm simply pointing it out here. Obama threw Wright under the bus in his 2008 bid for the nomination and election to President, I didn't.
Perhaps you missed Larry O'Donnell's forced apology for his remarks on the Mormon faith. He tried to cloak himself in the protection that the larger point he wanted to make (but did not) was the "a candidate religion should not be a part of the political discourse". AMEN! I suggest you take heed to those words.
And as to Hillary Rosen, the only Gender Gap issue she evidenced was the break in the synapse between her brain and mouth; next time, and this is more advice for you, Ann Webber, in your continued religious bigotted postings, "BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH FIRST ENGAGE YOUR BRAIN"!
Reverand Wright is correct, unfortunately. I rage also about the ignorance and oppression of the white as well. Hilary Rosen was also correct in her statements. Sorry Keith, but you can bully me all you want, but your a racist chauvanist pig. And no GOOD woman would want you. I am a caucasian male pro woman's rights, pro equal rights, pro separation of church and state. Reverand Wright spoke truth. Hilary Rosen spoke truth. I cut the ties with the Morman church because I would never subject my daughter or any female child to what IS cult behavior.

And I see you've obviously been "whipped" into shape by a vengeful wife laughinginthestocks! Keep on hating, keep on being the bigot, and keep on separating our body politic into competing interest groups each struggling to obtain recognition of their own ideosyncratic imagined slights and grievances, most of them from 50 or more years ago that have no bearing at all on todays issues.
You and your wife and your ilk are no more than foul tempered, self loathers projecting your shortcomings on others on this blog. Try keeping it to yourself and you won't be further embarrased here!
Before you open your mouth i suggest you get over your ignorant, inferior, chauvanist self. I don't condone the selfish, dangerous, sociapathic nature of the extreme right. It has caused many to moved away from Republicanism. And before you go off on one of your ignorant tangents again, no the facts: The Mormon faith is nothing more than a cult.
Anne's husband
I'm not an extreme rightist, my poor misinformed friend. I'm an educated, experienced political independent who does his own thinking. I'm certainly not one to be led by the rambling, immature ninsensical discontent of an enbittered former member of a religious sect who seems hell bent on tearing down a presidential nominee of one of our two major political parties. Can the Venom. Or be prepared to join the cab driver bigot in a reported status of unfit conduct for this blog!
And for your uneducated self, the Republicans have done nothing but be religious bigots for decades. Idiot!!!!!! Calling Obama muslim like it's a nasty word for 5 years is not religious bigotry. Stupid is as stupid does and that's you, bud.
Most Republicans are Episcopalians and Congregationalists and Methodists and Lutherans and Prespterians nd Unitarian/Universalists and Catholics, not at all religious bigots. And I hold degrees from two New England State Universities, the last BA earned Magna Cum Laude, with graduate work at the Masters Level in Teaching English and Secondary Level Education Teacher's Preparation.
Have you seen me say anything about Obama's being a Muslim? I've called him a Nztionalist Socialist...is that the regligious bigotry you are accusing me of? Don't tar me with that brush; I've already taken the step of labeling you posting INFLAMATORY, Laughingstock, and if you persist, this is your last warning! I will ask you to be barred from this blog as having nothing to offer but insulting, hysterical, lying comments!
What have you got?
Religion has NO place in state or federal government. Religion is the worst of all evils when it comes to government. Religion has been the cause of more wars, destruction and persecution historically. Religion is NOT synonomous to morals and ethics. The US constitution recognized that proven fact. It allowed for religious belief, free speech and public discourse and freedom of religious choice, BUT it also recognized that government must be separate from religion and religious affiliation.
"We are Endowed By Our Creator..." are those words instrumental in our Federal Constitution, and copied in States' Constitutions? Do we not Pledge "One Nation, Under God, Indivisible...." So why are you and your ilk trying so hard to divide us, laughingstock? Get a life!
The hypocrisy of those who 'CLAIM' to be religious or christian is disgusing! Women are sole and separate individuals, who contrary to the Mormon faith, are just as blessed by God and do NOT need their husband's soul to get into heavan or the celestial kingdom. They were born with brains just as their male counterparts and are equally capable of being just as successful and in many instances more successful than their male counterparts. It is not the right of organized religion (which are primarily men's clubs comprised of hedonistic arrogant self-important men) discrimate against females. Such dogma is archaic and stupid. Running a business, I have found that women for the most part have more integrity, more common sense, have better listening skills and are much better managers than men. Men make more mistakes are far less willing to acknowledge their mistakes and even more less willing to take responsibility for their mistakes. Further, no one has the right to make procreation decisions FOR women. When it comes right down to it, it is their bodies, and NO ONE owns their bodies but them. Any husband who shows any less respect for their wife is not worthy of being married to a woman, not worthy of being loved by a woman, he is only a bully.
Anne's Husband
Who the hell are you talking to? I remind you of the words of Henry David Thoreau, Unitarian transcendentalist who learned form the Unitarian Minister and Philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson in Concord, Massachusetts in the 19th Century that "Remember, it is alway the First Person that is talking!" Are you perhaps working out some strange personal guilt trip with those comments above? Who exactly is the "bully" you keep addressing in your ramblings?
Oh and Keith, you are Mormon, lying about it is shameful. Your arguments and threats are so familiar. Anyone reading these posts, just google "ex Mormons". Rather than just reading our accounts, read thousands of accounts from other ex Mormons and ignore Keith. These are the very tactics thet begin using. If we were to start posting all the blatant lies the church teaches comparing them to real historical facts, you would see Keith get very mean. But my wife's post was to state that the MORMON religion and its beliefs are very relevant to Mr. Romney's politics and beliefs. The beliefs and the extent to which they lie is what Mitt was taught and raised with. I guess I mean don't be so harsh on Mitt that he tends to lie at the drop of a hat because he was raised that lies are good and necessary. I don't say he is right to do so, just that to study Mormonism is to study a religion based on fabrication. He can't help that he was raised in this environment. When you watch him lie and lie, try to be sympathetic that he wasn't taught differently.
Anne's Husband
I was raised Congregationalist in Connecticut in the 1940s thru 1960s, and in the 70s for some years while at the University of Massachusetts together with my wife and children began attending and participating with the society of Universalist/Unitarians who try to find good philosophy in all of the worlds religious teachings, hence the name.
I'm now a nature worshipper, and while I have had the opportunity to work with a Social worker in our program investigating and treating spouse abuse and child abuse who was a lay minister in the Church of the Latter Day Saints, that is about as close as I ever came to the Mormon Religion other than visiting the Mormon Tabernacle Cathedral as a tourist in Salt Lake City, Utah in the early 1990s for its architectural beauty and granduer.
Why you have an assumption I am a Mormon that needs to be singled out for your special brand of invective is beyond me, but keep on stoking the flames of bigotry and hadred that lap at your tortured soul if thats what gets you through the day, laughlingstock idiot!
Geeze Louise, does anyone have any common sense on these MSNBC blogs other than Kika and myself and a few occasional other posters that the ignorant insulting ones keep driving away?
Best get your trays up and locked in the approved position, for this plane is taxiing for a lift off heading into the fair skies over our nation in November of this year!
