Republican House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan released his new budget plan on Tuesday. It's very similar to the original version, thought most notably using the phrase "premium support" instead of "Medicare vouchers." The Ryan plan also includes a massive tax cut for the rich and it removes progressivity in the tax code by reducing it to two rates, 10 percent and 25 percent, without specifying at what income levels those two rates apply.
On Tuesday's show, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell dissected the plan and discussed the political implications of the proposal on Republican candidates with MSNBC political analyst, Howard Fineman.

How is it possible to chastise him when Congress has run over 1000 days without a budget? His budget is his plan. Obviously it won't pass as is. What are all of the other slackers on the hill doing? Where is the outrage at creating more entitlements, government bailouts, and more war without a budget. How can we honestly discuss unemployment and deficit spending? I guess if there was a budget it would mean the Congress would actually be accountable for something.
Why are you such a hater? Paul Ryan is a very smart man and we should thank him for doing the unpopular for the betterment of this country.
How about invite him on your show and ask him a out it?
Seriously.
dootndo2: Your idea of a smart man and mine are two different things. Why am I a hater of Paul Ryan? He is Norquist's puppet. He really thinks that we the people are so dumb that we cannot see the forest for the trees. He is planning the end to Medicare. The vouchers are worthless. You can't get medical insurance now for a decent price and if you are old it is non existent at a good rate. Vouchers what a rip in the pants offer.
As far as a war is concerned. I think it is the Republicans who are touting for a war with Iran. Unemployment cannot be discussed unless there are jobs in the United States. As long as the Corporations are overseas there will be no good jobs in the United States. The middle class are fast becoming the poor and the poor of now will be faceless.
Paul Ryan is a joke.
Just more if the same ol' G.O.P. No, not the grand old party, Greedy Old Pr*cks.
Most Repubs want to keep everything they have. They owe no one. They're not just fortunate, they "earned everything they have through their superior intellect and character. No one else enabled them to succeed. The "gummint" is useless, inept and never did anything to help them. They did it on their own and they will fight to keep evry last $ possible. Most are old; entrenched in their bigotry and distain for others (immigrants ) who are less fortunate. And, the vast majority are PR*CKS. To hell with everyone else. If I won't need help in my old age, why should I help others.
Hail to the Party; the G.O.P.; the Greedy Old PR*CKS.
Fiishtil6 You are the one that sounds bitter.
Mr Buffet the famous idiot that says he doesn't pay enough in taxes, that president Obama loves to give reference too, would under the Ryan plan pay more in taxes because there would be no loop holes.
I find it interesting that there are so many rich Democrats that say the rich need to pay more but use every loop hole available, and then fight anything that would make the paying field even. For the Rich Dems there motto is " Take from everybody but Me"
The problem with liberals is they always run out of other peoples money.
Larry, you were put in your place by your own viewers about this very subject just last week and here you are again telling half truths and leaving out all of the facts to spin this story. talk about a lie. Nobody does it better than you.
chemdmd: you sound like a Republican shrill.
If you can't beat them with logic and true just attack them. Its the liberal way.
ok so the ryan plan would close loop holes AND allow the wealthy to pay fair taxes right? and that is what the democrats want right? you say the dem's use loop holes as well. but the difference is, they don't mind if you close the loop holes!! And can you justify that they "fight anything that would make the paying field even"??. HOWW??? the current GOP candidates have tax codes that benefit who?? the wealthy
So the new tax code will be 10% for those above $500,000 and 25% for those below.
I believe Paul Ryan is a joke and ought to be turned out of office.
My thinking is that he only took Economics 101 and believes he therefore is an economic genius. He couldn't have even used a calculator for his proposed budget!
So you read is budget too?
Paul Ryan is a reason for birth control. He is a joke, and poor specimen of a human being, and doesn't have any business being in the office he holds. His plan is to benefit the rich now, and the hell with older citizens and those to soon reach the age where without an income other than social security and medicare, death is eminent for the many who enter their senior years with medical conditions.
He's healthy at this point, I suppose. But, why should he care about anyone else considering he has benefits above and beyond anything normal citizens could ever hope for, and that will the case for the rest of his pathetic life, and that is a disgrace considering his plan to eliminate the older citizens of this land who made his way in this world possible. He's a real ass.
