Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student Rush Limbaugh verbally attacked on the airwaves, joined The Last Word on Wednesday. She told MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell her policy points on health care coverage for contraception have been lost in the noise of the Limbaugh firestorm.
And she's anxious to get back to more important topics, like discussing “how this regulation will give American women affordable access to a basic health care need that they have" instead of dwelling on Rush Limbaugh's toxicity.
“I was always taught to stand up for others and what I believed in regardless of whether or not it was popular,” said Fluke. She credited her "relentlessly wonky" approach as giving her the ability to move on gracefully and push this issue forward.

I completely agree with Lawrence's comment that Sandra Fluke has been a model for those participating in public discourse. I have been immensely impressed by the grace and restraint she has shown.
HELP AZ BIRTH CONTROL
She continues to be so poised and classy and focused. Very admirable. Keep up the excellent work Sandra.
A useful idiot for the left!
What does that mean..."A useful idiot for the left!"
This is what the right says when the left is correct. It's called distraction. Keep on point. This is about women's rights to basic health care and not about anything else.
No, a useful, intelligent, calm, dignified, lovely young woman for all American women.
And I am happy for it.
You folks on the right might get a little farther and gain an ounce of credibility if you ever decided to stop with the name calling and slandering. But we all know the right has NO credibility in the first place.
Larry...we don't need credibility............we've got the money!!!
I thought this was a great interview.
Sandra please run for office!!! we need women like you in the political process!!!
A well spoken, well educated young woman, speaking on behalf of all women, regardless of political leaning, regardless of income or educational level, regardless of ethnicity. She has maintained her calm reasoned and well thought out position that ALL women should be able to have their private insurance cover their medical needs.
Brava, Sandra.
Nobody has a problem with women buying insurance that they need. The problem is when they want the taxpayers to pay.....ain't gonna happen!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Larry, may I suggest that you guys stop talking about the republicans, just say that they are not news worthy and that the real issues of the day are more important and we need to work to fix our problems not make any more of them. Point out where they are reason we have these problems and what they have done to cause them and find what it is we could do to fix them. It's going to take all of us getting together to fix this country. We all can contribute to the solutions, we all have ideas. Not all in the same church or cult, but just as humans, people with the same or similar goals. There are enough folks at MSNBC to each cover one of the big issues, each day. Find the causes and the possible solutions, that would make your network more worth watching. I am getting tired of all the political noise and would rather watch Animal Planet, at least the animals don't lie, like the politicians do.
Watching Animal Planet is a luxury that I worked for. Right now my major financial concern is how fast the Dow Jones takes to reach 20,000. If you want to help this country get a job and start paying some taxes instead of spending your days whining. That goes for that Fluke slut too!
