Like Sandra Fluke, President Obama once took a stand in law school. Buzzfeed.com exclusively licensed an old video of a young Barack Obama from the archives of WGBH, Boston’s PBS station. The video shows him speaking at a protest in favor of controversial professor Derrick Bell, who pushed for Harvard to give tenure to minority and female law professors.
The Barack Obama of the early ‘90s in the video sounds like same guy we know today. At that time, he was only president of the Harvard Law Review. If anything, he just sounded a tad more leftie. He had less gray hairs then, but there's no "Aha" or "WTF" moment.
Right before conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart’s untimely death last week, he said he planned to release a tape of Obama talking about race that would alter the course of the 2012 presidential election. This video was supposed to be the smoking gun, as the GOP might say, proving Obama's radical political beliefs.
Breitbart's website didn’t deny this was the same video. But called the Buzzfeed tape "selectively edited." The organization says it be will “releasing additional footage that has been hidden by Obama's allies in the mainstream media and academia.”
Buzzfeed has denied those editing claims.
PBS just stepped into the fray, vouching for Buzzfeed's credibility by posting the whole video of the rally. In a statement posted to Frontline, PBS said while Buzzfeed did not post the whole video of the event, they did, in fact, post Obama's portion in full.

Rumor has it that Breitbart has tapes and documents that could prove very dangerous for Mr. Obama. The drama on Obama is a never ending saga. I love it.
He should have tapes from every one at the GOP. Look, where was he when Gingrich was having the affair with his now wife? And all those unfaithful today through that AshleyMadison organization that advertises only on Conservative media. He should have have tapes about every one of the 700,000 conservative membership. Before he died, Lee Atwater had a deathbed conversion. He apologized, said he was wrong, and pleaded that other Conservatives NOT use the "race-baiting," "racial code and dog whistles," and stoking of White racial resentment against Blacks (which he perfected) for the Conservative and Republicans' "political gain."
Andrew Breitbart followed in Atwater's footsteps BEFORE Atwater had his conversion and NEVER looked back.
Wouldn't it be sweet poetic justice if these Conservative white-supremacist strategies back-fired and got White Progressives fired up?

I believe the tapes of Mitt Romney talking about how the automobile industry should have been left to fail - and the resulting loss of thousands of jobs forever ..... or talking up health care and the individual mandate as instituted when he was governor will have a far more lasting impact than anything in President Obama's youth .....
why is government run health care now 'Un-American' and 'unconstitutional' and that horrible evil 'socialism' now that is has been enacted by Democrats....
when it was the Republican's idea - and even enacted .... it was all the rage... they were all talking about how great it was going to be ....
and if you don't believe in social programs - you will all please refund your Social Security checks and Medicare payments ... and please engage all the folks you know - presumably your parents - how they are not 'entitled' to the programs they have paid into for all of their working lives .... and let's have a clear and concise PLAN for not allowing the insurance companies to exclude whomever they want with ore-existing conditions and refusing any treatments they don't want to cover - while making record profits .... and just HOW we are going to put a stop paying for the folks that the insurance companies refuse to cover.... oh that's right - most people just think that hospitals just write it off ....
All those tapes of Romney will be there during the campaign for the big election. He will not escape that one.
You'd have to edit this speech pretty heavily to make it look at all sinister. Which, I'm assuming, is what Breitbart had in mind.

It never ceases to amaze me what the right thinks is controversial vs. progressives. Of course they'd think standing up for diversity is a horrible thing, everyone should be old, male and white in their minds.

Happened ten years ago under President Cheney...
My kid need to see this young President Obama tape...because in her college days back in Boston U....she led a protest and boycott against NIKE who employ children in China making those shoes and paying the children peanuts while selling it to us for outrageous prices here in the USA....most importantly she was protesting for China to implement Child Labor Laws. She was horrified that children are being employed instead of them being in school. She also led a boycott on TOMMY HILFIGER'S product when Tommy Hilfiger went on TV and said, quote, "I specifically put my product in the market for the White Youth of America but it turn out that Asian Youth of the world are the ones who mostly buy my product and I didn't like that idea" unquote, ....the next day, she gathered all her friends from Boston U, Harvard, MIT, Boston College and Wellesly and led the biggest boycott yet on Hilfiger's product in the street of Boston.
Glad that Rush Limbaugh did not weight in on this protest she initiated in her life time. That is why I was so outraged with Limbaugh's action on Sandra Fluke because my two daughters are very civic minded and will speak their mind at a drop of a hat.
This older kid of mine is 32, and a CA Attorney and a Classified Legal Attorney for the US Dept. of Labor. She is headquartered at Washington, D.C. and travels around the country. She also graduated Harvard Law School. The younger one age 26 is an MIT graduate, a Software Engineer.
During the election of President Obama in 2008 these two worked so very hard for the President to get elected. I was for Hillary before I was for Obama. They have registered thousands of none voters...and come election time rented a suburban hauled all the people they registered around town and brought them all to the voting poll to make sure they voted. Mr. Obama should be proud of these kids....the older one knows of Mr. Obama when she was invited by then Law Professor Obama to a Legal Conference in Illinois when she was a Law Professor herself.
She will be thrilled to see these video of the President. (smile)

Right. Count me as one of these people. Also, I am a total left-winger and feminist. Choosing people because of their race/gender is as wrong as rejecting people because of their race/gender. Two wrongs don't make a right. Revenge is not justice.
As a (true) feminist, I want women to be treated EQUALLY. That's why I oppose gender-based discrimination. This includes the original discrimination as well as the reverse discrimination, i.e. women quota. Unlike you, I reject gender-based discrimination in any case, when it's to my own disadvantage and when it's to my own advantage. Anything else would be logically inconsistent and thus make me a total hypocrite. I would violate my own principles.
My goal is a colour- and gender-blind society. And in such a society, racial diversity and gender diversity don't matter, simply because race and gender don't matter. You cannot demand colour-blindness and racial diversity at the same time. These are two opposing goals. Either race is relevant to you or it is not. Please, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against diversity. I just don't want to have diversity at all cost. Diversity that is achieved artificially by race-/gender-based discrimination sucks, simply because race-/gender-based discrimination sucks. However, I gladly accept diversity when it's randomly there. All people must be chosen based on merit, not on shallow criteria like race or gender. Once this goal is achieved, diversity will come automatically after a while. To quote the female political director of Germany's left-libertarian Pirate Party, "We don't keep track of our members' gender. We believe true equality starts when we stop counting women."
So, either you support race-/gender-based discrimination or you oppose it. Make up your mind and stick with your decision. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.
