UPDATE: The Huffington Post is reporting Colbert's mother is very ill. Read more here.
Comedy Central's The Colbert Report has temporarily suspended production because of an emergency in Stephen Colbert's family.
Comedy Central created speculation about the show when audience members who planned to attend last night's taping were sent notices from the show, telling them the taping was cancelled. Last night's show planned to have Claire Danes from Showtime's "Homeland" as a guest and the author Susan Cain. Comedy Central spokesman, Steve Albani, emailed this statement:
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 16."
A repeat episode will air tonight, and Colbert is expected to resume production soon, perhaps as early as next week.

Thanks for sharing this. We always look forward to seeing his show, but his absence is quite understandable. Our thoughts are with the Colbert family. <3
God Bless all of his family - just had an emergency in our family and praying for all of them.
I have gone through these times. I wish him and his family support and love from each other to get throught this. So looking forward to his return. He brings such joy to his fans.
Love Stephen Colbert, and hoping that he'll know we are all wishing for the best outcome possible with regard to his family's situation.
