Martin Luther King Jr.'s words have been written in stone at the monument honoring him in Washington D.C., but now they have to be rewritten due to an incorrect quote. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell has more in the latest Rewrite.

How can our eyes not welt as we listen to his artful force of a voice, pronouncing spoken word operatic in character with perfect messages of freedom, justice and demand for dignity? How can no one take the time to leave even a brief comment expressing some awareness of the grandiosity of this man's soul and purpose?
When Martin Luther King described his dream -
"I have a Dream, we'll see the Promised Land!" -
He knew the Right would fight and lie and scheme
To keep this country's promise in their hand.
He wanted to protect the right to vote
From those who would suppress his people's voice.
If he were here today, he'd have to note,
The Right succeeds at taking away their choice.
Republicans would decimate this land
To force Obama out of House and station.
Republicans refuse to see or understand
Obama's Hope and Change would save our nation.
The Promised Land will remain unfulfilled
Until the Right's obstruction can be stilled.
Lawrence, he was saying more than what you gave him credit for. He was offering a sample for all of us to live by. He was _saying— "if _I— am a drum major," but he meant everyone of us should think the same way. I don't want a big funeral, just say that I tried to do good for others.
