We really appreciate your support for Kids In Need Of Desks, our show's joint program with UNICEF. We've mentioned some of you on the show and tried to send personal thank you emails. It's hard to keep up with your outpouring of generosity. You truly amaze us.
Just four shopping days left before Christmas, the Last Word's K.I.N.D. fund is nearing the $3 million fundraising mark. As of show time last night, we raised $2,954,042 to outfit classrooms in Malawi with school desks. The fund helps to improve the educational experience for these kids and it creates local jobs, as these desks are hand-made by local craftsmen in Africa.
Every little bit helps. Can you forgo that grande mocha coffee concoction today and donate that $5 you saved to the KIND fund? (There are no calories in charitable giving!) Maybe instead of going to the movies this week, you could use that money towards some desks. It makes for a great holiday present — we'll even send that person an e-card to notify them of your gift.
A donation of $48 buys one desk, which seats at least two children. And $720 buys an entire classroom of desks. Find out how you can get involved by visiting LastWordDesks.msnbc.com or by calling 1-800-FOR-KIDS to donate.

It's amazing to see the outpouring of support for the KIND initiative. I hope that we can also engage these students at their new desks in online connections with their peers. These students need and deserve the same interactive tools that others around the world have in the process of building 21st century skills. Would love to link every KIND desk student in Malawi with peers in the US to enable them to learn with and from each other.

I just donated money to buy one desk for the children of Malawi. Thanks Lawrence for using your position to shine a light on a problem and asking for support. I love your show, your compassion and your heart. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad!
First donation this week.
Plan to do the same thing every month from now on.
Children
Children are the joy that fills our lives.
They are the laughter and giggling that fills the room.
Their hugs are like warm winter blankets.
Their smiles radiate the sunshine.
They know how to play because it is natural to them.
Puppies love children because they know they are pure love.
Kids do not fear because it is not natural to their little spirits.
They trust, love, give, share and treat all equally.
They are the purest form of innocence.
All of which are to be admired.
You must allow your spirit to return to the child in you.
You know your spirit well for it was when you were the happiest.
To enter the Kingdom of God we must become child like in spirit.
So my friends seek in every way to become a kind gentle soul.
Have you noticed children are the ones happy and having all the fun?
Ask for help as a child would and keep asking until you receive that gift.
Remember children’s love and laughter is a great way to live.
Who is the teacher here?
God Bless
Lawrence, I just bought a desk for my Aunt and Uncle for a Christmas gift. Thanks for the great idea. Lov your show.

This year I am donating two desks in the names of my two adult children. They have long outgrown the need for anything that comes in a box. I trust this form of gift giving will become our new Christmas tradition. Thank you for the opportunity to feel the joy of giving once again and to share my joy with my two wonderful 'kids' and the wonderful kids of Malawi.

Lawrence,
My ex-wife was a special education teacher here in Dallas, TX. Her students were her pride and joy. She passed away, suddenly, in July at the age of 53. I've donated three desks in her name: one for her and one for each of our two sons. Thank you for what you do.
