The Trump debate debacle will go down in the history books as one of the more notable political flameouts. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell has the 12 days of embarrassment, from announcement to cancellation, in the Rewrite.

The Donald, along with the Newt want to make political hey through the weight of a purse of cheap perfumes! I wonder how the Republican constituency is taking/seeing/analyzing all of this power of the free press? Can they possibly see through/enjoy/eat oats after such a thrashing of their party by a one percent clown wearing a wig? Or, are Republicans simple enough to pull a rabbit out of a hat after appearing dumbfounded/confused/shock and awed? QUICO!
In response to Rush Limbaugh's statement regarding Lawrence O'Donnell and Bill Maher epitomizing the ugliness of Liberalism - then he is the ultimate representative of the self serving arrogance of Conservatism
The only thing Rush represents is the ugly side effects of enough Oxycodone to kill an elephant.
From one "Olde Blonde Broad" to another...I could not agree with you MORE! Rush Limbaugh is the most disgusting and arrogant human being on the planet, and I can't imagine ANYONE wanting him as their spokesperson....
The Joker goes down. This is a great summary.
Kaboom! And Down goes the clown Trump!! Yes Lawerence!!! Good show!!!!!
I literally laughed my tail off seeing the Memorial graphic with that horrible hair!!!!
Only Lawerence could have stuck it to this jerk trump like that!!!!! LMAO still.
This is a sad day for Bill Maher, Steven Colbert and so many others. Come on Donald, you need to stay out there or we'll lose some real good stand up comedy!
Wish I could have watched the entire video, but it was streaming 5 seconds at a time. Bet it was great. Lawrence always rocks! Can't believe I agree with Ron Paul, but what he said was right -- having Trump moderate the debate certainly suggests a circus-like atmosphere. Trump is a really greasy guy of questionable ethics.
I like the rest of "US" have many things I like to say, but I will keep this one short and sweet. Why ? do anybody listens to Donnell Trump, He and many people like him is what is wrong with this country. Why ? listen to a habitual liar . not at anytime has this man kept his word, but because he is "The Donnell" when he speaks the media listen, Why? all he is going to do is tell another lie. And is that what the country wan6s is to listen to another Lair.
Donald "The Orange Clown" Trump acts like he's relevant or something ... LOL
Come on Lawrence, we want to know. What is the Donnald's secret? We all want to know now. Ok, I know that he bought a lot of property in NY at pennies on the dollar by using the governor to enforce the eminent domain law in the properties he wanted. So, a lot of the poor were evicted and this cause the numbers of homeless to soar in the early 80s. But beyond that I know nothing more.
i am not sure this is the right place to write my comment. But i just saw your segment about the KIND fund... i had goosebumps throughout the segment. what a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS STORY! to see the joy of those children, how those donations have contributed to improve their lives and performance and the lives of the workers... wow... thank you lawrence for sharing this. an amazing story.
Great show Lawrence.I look forward to seeing more.
This actually might be the best calculated move by the Don. It gives him an excuse to say, I'm running as an Independent because these candidates don't have a chance in hell of beating Obama. He would need to distance himself from these losers. The Donald is the only guy that has the CASH, the COMPETENCE and COCKINESS to face an Obama billione dollar campaign machine.
Cindy if you think donald "the Blowfish" trump is competent you are in serious need of a brain transplant. He's the second biggest gasbag on the planet, right behind rush limbaugh, and just ahead of glen (they're all nazis) beck
Well unlike most of us, he's a successful billionaire with lots of ladies, lots of properties and a lots of everything. If that's not competence, I don't know what is.
I have followed politics for about 5 decades. The most repulsive person I have ever seen is Trump. The consumate anti-patriot. During a serious time when we need real civic discourse we have to listen to his crap. Who could possibly follow this guy when studying his character? Probably the same people would support the powers that be in the country if they would declare war on Hawaii. It goes on and on. If you follow him closely you might draw the conclusion there is an illness/pathology there. My guess if all the media totally refused to cover him, you could have a D.O.A., at his own hands.
Regarding Trump comparing "The Last Word" to O'Reilly's show on Faux News, he conflates popularity with quality. Being "more popular" does not imply being "better than." As Lawrence has emphasized from time to time, "You can have your own opinion, but you can't have your own facts." (Thanks to Senator Moynihan for that fact.) Unfortunately for the vast majority of Fox viewers who abdicate their responsibility to vet what O'Reilly says, too much of what he says in the No Spin Zone is, at best, Spin - if not a counterfactual statement that O'Reilly mistakenly believes is true.
If one were to measure the quality of the viewers of the 2 programs, I have no doubt that, albeit a minority, Lawrence's viewers are, in general, a much more discerning group of people, people who expect to hear different points of view. That show which has the higher quality audience is a higher quality show than the show that tends to appeal to the lowest common denominator, with the intent to garner a larger audience.
Another point that I'd make to Trump, however much he may not want to accept it. The fact that "Celebrity Apprentice" has been so successful doesn't imply that it is a better show than those it competes with for viewership. If you were to ask me, it's because the majority of those who watch Trump's show lack the awareness to no how badly they are wasting their time. The same goes for almost every show that belongs to the genre of Reality TV, whether it's American Idol, DWTS, Palin's Alaska, etc. There are a sufficient number of fools watching TV to make many programs with no redeeming quality successful. On the other hand, the lack of learned viewers is a handicap that programming that is designed to require viewer engagement has to deal with.
Well said...only I might have called them "Brain-dead" fools
