Ginger White said Thursday she was "deeply sorry" for any pain she might have caused Gloria Cain or her family. The Atlanta woman, who alleged carrying on a 13-year affair with presidential candidate Herman Cain, made the apology during an exclusive interview with MSNBC's Lawrence O’Donnell.
"My heart bleeds for this woman because I am a woman and being in a situation like this cannot be fun. And I am deeply, deeply sorry if I have caused any hurt to her and to his kids, to his family," said White, a mother of two. "I never wanted to hurt anyone and I'm deeply sorry."
When initially asked if she had a message for Cain's wife, she replied "no comment." White said that's the first time she was ever asked that question, and it took her "aback."
White described Cain as an "intelligent" and "fun-loving" guy, and said their relationship offered her a "getaway" from the normal "hustle and bustle" of daily life. "It wasn't a love affair. It was a sexual affair," she clarified.
According to White, the presidential candidate gave her cash payments during their relationship, though she declined to give the exact amount to MSNBC.
White also said she did not take any money to come forward with her story. "This has never been political," she said. "This has been a very, very difficult situation for me, for my family, his family. It's been very tough."
In an interview with New Hampshire's Union Leader on Thursday, the former Godfather's Pizza CEO acknowledged sending White money for "month-to-month bills and expenses." He also said his wife was not aware of this "friendship."
White insisted she is telling the truth about the sexual relationship with Cain and revealed phone records from communication with Cain over the past few months.
Their relationship began in Louisville, Kentucky back in the late 1990s.

I really don't get what the "hoopla" is all about. Seems to me that dirt can be found on EVERY single candidate. The facts are, Cain has been accused of harassment and adultery. Since the beginning of time, adultery has been around. And though I find this to be immoral, there's also this problem of this woman waiting until Cain ran for office....or anyone waiting until someone runs for office. Then and ONLY then are the cats let out of their bags and the clowns begin to circle around the tent. Not a lot of men OR women, to my knowledge, can carry on affairs for very long without being found out. I'm not saying this woman is a liar and if the affair is the truth then by all that's right she should have come forward years ago. And if this man, Cain, was indeed in an adulterous relationship with this woman, just how stupid is he to believe it wouldn't be found out when running for the most powerful office in the land???? And as far as Liberals, Republicans, Democrats and Tea Party voters go, you either do or don't support scumbags, PERIOD, when they're found out. Wrong is wrong, allegedly or otherwise. My comment is simply this: Anyone who runs for public office, especially the highest office in the land, better be "squeaky clean". No skeletons in their closet or anywhere else, but they are politicians and will tell us exactly what they think we want to hear - no more, no less. It is up to us to decide who we want to vote for. Cain isn't the first nor will he be the last to have extramarital affairs. Some of our best friends are doing the same thing but when it comes to running a country, the standards are different???? They shouldn't be. How can we expect honesty and integrity from our public officials when some of us don't have it in our own lives? Personally I think Cain should drop out of the race. His behavior is reprehensible and he has disgraced himself and unfortunately, his wife and family who have to bear the burden of public humiliation. Was his wife aware of all of this? Who cares....the damage is done and if he can't be honest with his own family, can he be honest with the nation (shades of Bill Clinton) - but remember, Bill Clinton was relected so apparently being faithful to your wife (or husband) is not a prerequisite to running a country. I don't know who is right and who is wrong. I listen to all the speeches and all the debates and I'm still not sure who is the right one to run this country. When Obama was elected all I heard was Hooray, we finally have a black president. Well guess what folks, he's half white too. My reason for saying this is simply that it should make no difference what color a candidate is. What should make a difference is what he can do to help this country. What kind of integrity he (or she) possesses. What you guys need to hammer through your heads is that the Office of the President is not a regular job, it's a job that requires character and leadership, and yes, the public is entitled to know that the guy in charge of the entire country has some backbone and can be trusted.
This is not an isolated episode with Cain, it's a pattern that lasted for years. He was probably going home to his wife after sleeping with Ginger White and harassing women to get sex at the workplace.
