They all look alike upside down.
Any good third party candidates around? These people are all scary and none of them are capable of running this country.
And to think that these are the very best representations of the conservative party. The party that is all in all, responsible for destroying the economy of this nation... The party that has done nothing other than become obstructionist for the past three years after their role in destroying the economy of this nation... The party that has done nothing but blame the liberals for the destructions the conservatives have wrought upon this nation now claim to have the path to putting this economy back on track by setting the nation 50 years back in time... And these are the very best that the republicans can find within their own ranks to represent them. I have to admit that these people with their destructive ideas are at the very least, the very best the conservatives can come up with to closest represent what they believe in. Greed representing greed.
Very well said.
I take exception to the comment"responsible for destroying the economy"....the government regulators turned the other ways and were not doing their jobs either..... Wall street ONLY DID THIS BECAUSE "GOVERNMENT REGULATORS" DID NOT DO THEIR JOBS!!...IF THEY WERE FEDERALLY INSURED , WHY DID THE GOVERNMENT NOT CATCH IT....DUH?...greed on wall street is expected.....but please...we as citizens should not be misled by our government by guaranteeing these loans...the government is way more responsible then wall street....and then bail them out...and then they wont lend money to the suffering middle class who pay all the bills...shame on them all...!!
Nobody won. America lost.
let me understand this the gop party is responsible because they are obstructionist for the last 3 years. Maybe you don't read or something but the democrats held the majority in all 3 branches - so much a majority it didn't matter if the gop showed up to vote or not the dems had the votes to pass anything they wanted and chose for 2 full years to not do anything legislatively about jobs and the economy. so how do you blame the gop for that?????
Spoken like a true socialist. We'll find you eventually on the ash heap of broken down horse and buggy socialists along with the rest of Europe. Last week Greece, this week Italy....which socialist society of your own ilk is next???
Do yourself a favor and get a little educated on 'who' did 'what' to this country. Read the book "The Great American Bank Robbery" by Paul Sperry. You might learn something.....maybe....Another one, "New Deal or Raw Deal" by Burton Folsom Jr., "The Forgotten Man" by Amity Shlaes, "The Road to Serfdom" Friedrich Hayek, "5 Big Lies About American Business" by M. Medved, "Reckless Endangerment" by Gretchen Morgenson, "How an Economy Grows and Why it Crashes" by Peter Schiff."Rollback" by Thomas E. Woods.
Of course they did except for the fact the very same five democrats voted each and every single time on every issue with the conservatives which nulled the majority line. The only thing the five conservatives in democrat clothing voted with the democrats with was when the conservatives forced the democrats to take the public options out of the healthcare bill and replace it with the republicans mandatory pay instead. This was a ploy by the republicans to make the democrats look bad as they then did not keep their promise and vote for the bill but instead, like always, they once again lied and changed their partyline vote and then blamed the democrats for doing exactly what they wanted them to do by robbing america of the public options part of the healthcare bill. Never at any point did the democrats actually have a majority vote.
From what I've seen so far, President Obama won.
Really, I don't need to read anything from any other person as I sat right here and watched the destruction from the beginning to date. I've watched and witnessed a surplus turned into a 10.64 trillion dollar deficit even before tallying in the two republican sponsored wars or the beginning of the democratic Presidents nomination for presidency. Gas was already 4.25$ a gallon and the nation was already heading on a reckless course even before the democrats took power and became limited on what they could do because the conservatives chose to become obstructionists instead of helping to recover from the recession they led the nation into.
renaus,
Great post. Everyone should at least read "The Road to Serfdom". Hayek was a true modern prophet. Brilliant man.
As far as the debate; I support Ron Paul, thought Cain did well but Newt won.
Damn right!
You know I've been watching Newt. He's been moving up and he's got some great ideas on how to fight government waste. I think the man has really changed in the past 15 years that he's been out of politics. He has a very strong handle on 19th and 20th century American history being a professor. If you can find it, go to Heritage.org and see if you can find his 50 minute speech to the organization. He spells out how to fight fraud and abuse of Medicare, Social Security, etc. and speaks of the illegal alien problem and what he suggest the U.S. do to stop the invasion across our borders. As I recall he would like to seal up the borders and allow only LEGAL entry into the country, stop the illegal hiring practises of business (hiring illegals) and letting those here illegally 'self-deport'. No jobs mean no money which means they'll have no choice but to go home unless they can find someone to take them on as dependents. Newt's very intelligent and I think he is showing some common sense. Serious, go check out Newt's ideas.
It's funny. I constantly hear the argument "they do the jobs Americans won't". Yet those using that argument ignore the fact that illegal labor is imported specifically to drive down wages those industries (using illegal labor) would have to pay an American worker. 12-20 million undocumented workers. 14 million unemployed. It appears many will never get past their bias (or greed, or hope for political gain) and work for the common good of the people of this country.
Well said Renaus! The people that want something for nothing though are gradually overtaking those of us that worked for the last 60 years. (I am 71 as of 3 weeks ago). What a tragedy we are all witnessing and it continues. We're at 15 trilliion debt now and growing. How much more of this we can withstand is the question of the day.
Newt is the smartest guy of any of them in my opinion. He would likely do better in the polls though if he promised more free stuff. He also has the most common sense of anybody in politics today. Good luck to us all. We will need it.
Obama will win every GOP debate until this bunch of clowns takes a vow of silence.
When Perry was asked what departments he would eliminate and he could not remember, he should have just answered it like Cain would have.
Perry should have said "999" that was Cain's only answer
What time is it Mr Cain? "9:99"
How much is a Large Pepperoni? "$9.99"
What percentage of women want you? "99.9%"
mikela
ROTFLMAO!!!!
Oh you poor misguided soul. When will you Lefties stop believing in this fairy tale of a surplus? If there was a surplus why didn't the Debt EVER go down?
Why?
BECAUSE THERE NEVER WAS A SURPLUS!
This was just more fuzzy math by manipulating the Public Debt and the Intragovernmental Holdings, which make up the National Debt. Your gullability is only surpassed by your delusion.
Hmmmmm, now by obstructionists do you mean like when Hairy Reed proclaimed "DEAD ON ARRIVAL" or "TABLE IT" for every proposal the Republicans submitted for the debt ceiling debates? Or maybe it was Barracks favorite debate with the Republicans when he proudly proclaimed that he would VETO anything they sent through?
BTW, you DO realize that the Democrats haven't passed a budget in 912 days now, RIGHT?
If you can't remember all the way back 3 months, how about yesterday when the Libbies walked out of the "
StupidSuper Committee" discussions. You know, when John Kerry had to leave so he could get another day on his wife's yacht.Just an FYI.
They did exactly as they should have. Once again the obstructionist come back to the table and attempt to force the middle class to payoff the debt by taking more benefits away from them, raising their taxes while lowering taxes on the rich and tossing more families into the streets by blaming them for the conditions of the country and at the sametime scream poverty for the rich and are unwilling to negotiate period. They want things their way or not at all in every issue and at every point just as they have been doing for three continuous years.
renaus
Newt has forgotten more politics than our current Imposter in Chief will ever learn. He would wipe the floor with Obama in a debate. I'd love to see a 3 hour, no moderator, time limited debate between them. Newt would love to school Obama.
Kinda like when Netanyahu schooled ole Barrack back in May.
BTW, Cleon Skousen's, "The 5000 Year Leap" should also be required reading.
Schiff's book is excellent, I have been following him since 2003, his recommendation to diversify my portfolio with gold was the best advice anyone ever gave me. It's amusing how none of his critics in 2006-2008, Republican and Democrat, have him on today as much as they did then. I guess the truth really does hurt when it comes to predicting the biggest crash in over 80 years as all the "economists" ignored him.
mikela
You DO realize the Republicans agreed to $300 Billion in new revenues, right?
Now, can you tell me what the Democrats offered in the way of proportionate cuts in spending?
You can't can you? Why? Because the Democrats only know 2 words when it comes to the economy.
1. Tax
2. Spend
Oh, I'll also wager that the Democrats will NOT agree that ALL the revenue from increased revenues or cuts in spending are ONLY allowed to be used to decrease the National Debt. No new spending until the Debt is eliminated (except for emergencies of course).
Wanna bet?
Jamie,
First off, Mike's point is that the republicans destroyed the economy. That happened BEFORE 2009.
Secondly, the democrats never had a filibuster proof majority. When Teddy Kennedy died, that went away. So what did the republicans do? They set a record for the filibustering of every single pice of legislation that the deomcrats tried to pass. They stalled congress completely.
Then in 2010, they won major congrerssional victories, and have been obstructing without filibusters ever since.
Hopefully, you understand now.
I figured the right wing would be disgusted with Newt. He comes off as "professorial". And "elitist". He sounds like he think he's better than us.
I thought the right wanted someone they could have a beer with. When did historical knowledge, historical perspective and intelligence become admirable right wing traits?
Hands down, ANY of the Republican candidates at last nights debate are leaps and bounds above the Marxist we currently have in office. With America in turmoil and unrest, this is the first time Michelle Obama has ever been proud of her country....lol. Thanks Obama. My choice is Newt Gingrich. Of ALL candidate in every party, he is the best man for the job. Obama cannot run on his record... America is in thralls of decline and economic collapse. Obama has to do character assassination of whomever runs against him. Get ready for his blind followers to do the assassinating, it has already begun.
Outing a paid fundamentalistic conservative troll: renaus
Ok i was for perry but have switched to Ron Paul. He might look goofy but he sounds like the most sane. He has some great ideas and doesn't stammer around with his answers.
The democrats never asked for new taxes. They asked for many of the tax loop holes and incentives the upper tier tax payers enjoy to be closed. Those are not new taxes. They are incentives that had been given to the top tier to be closed as the reason they were given to begin with was to incite the top tier to create jobs to begin with and it has been shown that the reason they were given these tax breaks and incentives simply did not manifest the jobs they were meant to create.
Currently the military budget is in the neighborhood of 750billion annually. Take the military back to their prewar budgets of 286billion per year and save 470billion right there alone. Over ten years that comes to 4.70billion. Give them 70billion per year and we still save 4billion. No new spending on that one either.
These were conservative spending so it kind of shows the conservatives are an even bigger spender than the democrats in that respect and that is just a reflection on what the conservatives spent on just that one instance and doesn't include the tax breaks or any other form of expenditure.
Got to be kidding about Newt, he's in the pocket of financial corps. He helped deregulate the banking industry by repealing Dodd-Frank.
Correction, : 4.70trillion. Give them 70billion per year and we still save 4trillion.
@JohnsMopar,
Are you serious? Dodd-Frank was just enacted about a year ago and is still on the books. Newt has said it should be repealed but he can't repeal it since he isn't in power. And he couldn't have repealed it when he was Speaker because it wasn't on the books yet.
Care to do that math one more time, Mikela?
n/t
hard to pick a "winner" out of this lot
....kind of like picking the best turd in the commode
In 2001 the military defense budget was around the 286billion dollar annual mark. By 2005 it had increased to more than 750billion as the military had taken on the conservatives sponsored Halliburton and Blackwater to help defend our soldiers. I understand how the VP would want to include his corporate buddies in Halliburton into the 470billion dollar per year windfall.
Republicans didn't add this extra spending into the budget until after the democrats took control. It then became a deficit they then blamed on the democratic majority. I can understand how many conservatives wouldn't want to admit to this 4.7trillion dollar expenditure over ten years. It leads back to them.
mikela,
i believe it was President Obama who first included our defense spending in the defict when he shared the ACTUAL number with the american people, shortly after he took office. W. bush NEVER included the cost of the war in the defict numbers, or shared that number, the actual deficit with the american people.
i remember when President Obama told the american people about the deficit, including our defense spending in two wars.
the republican party is the party of big gov't and big deficits. it is only when a democrat is in office that the republicans worry about the size of gov't and spending.
president reagan was the one who said, "deficits don't matter".
to the republicans, they only matter when a democrat is in office.
face it. republicans are the party of big deficits and big gov't.
just concerned,
your post 1.20- you mention cleon skousen (the 5,000 year leap), the man who changed becks life. i remember beck talking about cleon as a "non-partisan", when in actuality, skousen, with the help of beck and the religious right, are rewriting history from a "mormon" persepctive.
i didn't watch a lot of the discussions on skousen, because i find glenn beck too extreme, and very boring and predictable, but i do remember thinking that the religious right wants americans to think that the founding fathers were all "divinely" guided by the bible, when in fact they were merely humans, and were guided not by the divine (not that many of them may have been "christian") but by French and English philosophers.
i know that glenn beck revered skousen as a historian from what i saw and heard from glenn, but he was clearly a participant in the history specifically of the extreme right in america. you probably know that j. edgar hoover kept a file on skousen for years (over 2,000 pages). and you probably know also, since you feel that his book should be "required reading" (for whom?) that he was distanced publically by his own mormon church.
he also wrote other books, including one on "mormon end times prophecy", which explains why on fox news and his radio show he rants about the end of the world every chance he gets.
if skousen's beliefs are the foundation for the base of the republican party, you are all headed to a very bizarre place.
are you a commercial for glenn beck and goldline?
We had to many to say nothing....
THE BIAS IS SO OBVIOUS !!
They produce a graph with Paul, Romney, and Cain looking equal, but the graph should show Paul 27% larger bar than Romney and 33% larger bar than Cain. (this was as of 10 minutes ago, the amount of error seems to be increasing as more votes for Paul)
What Gives?
Yeah it's a shame that Paul keeps getting shoved aside by the media. After nearly every debate these polls show that Paul was voted as the winner of the debate, but for whatever reason, the poll results are dismissed and the only comparisons made are between Romney, Cain and Perry. This whole process is a joke. No wonder everyone on both sides is unhappy with politics.
Ron Paul is not a Bilderberg or Council on Foeign Relations member or attendee as Cain, Romney, Perry and most of the others, Dr. Paul scares them as he will not support their New World Order. Google Bilderberg agenda, it might explain what these people really represent! Even Obama and most of his cabinet are Bilderberg members or attendees. They are just singing the songs they are instructed to sing.
As if an Online Poll where you can vote numerous times (Just vote under different sceenames) means anything at all.
Especially when it is voted on by extremist who are so obsessed they would pay to vote on Dancing Shows on TV just so a Ex Candidates daughter could dance with the stars...Give me a break.
ONLINE POLLS ARE MEANINGLESS
As I'm looking at the numbers on the graph, Romney is trailing Paul by 12.8 percentage points (top two positions) while Gingrich is trailing Cain by 7.9 percentage points (next two positions). But the bars tell a different story: the gap between Romney and Paul appears to be the smaller one...much smaller, in fact...about 1.3 points. Visually, Ron Paul is getting cheated out of about 11.5% of his support!
@Frankly True: So is it your contention that all online polls are illegitimate? What exactly does it take to make an internet poll legitimate?
RP recently won the Illinois straw poll by a significant majority. A large majority of his votes came from internet votes at a $5 surcharge.
It sounds to me that you just might be too old to appreciate the power of the internet. Don't worry Mubarak was too.
Ron Paul, the Champion of the Constitution and the Thomas Jefferson of our day, is a true American patriot and statesman. I am sick of oath-betraying, constitution abrogating, warmongering establishment neoconservatives posing as Republicans. Wake up America! Ron Paul for President in 2012.
I'm RACIST for criticizing Obama
TERRORIST because I'm not with Bush
ANTI-SEMETIC for not supporting Israel
TEABAGGER for supporting the Constitution
TRUTHER for asking unanswered questions
TRAITOR for whistleblowing on my government
CONSPIRACY THEORIST for presenting documented facts
TROLL for posting news, videos, quotes and U.S. atrocities
ANTI-AMERICAN for supporting Constitutionalists like Ron Paul
For me, I believe Ron Paul always wins because he stands alone as the only candidate addressing the key issues that America faces - the role of government, sound money, peace and individual liberties. Until Americans wake up and are willing to embrace personal and government responsibility and accountability, we will continue down the road that leads to disaster. Ron Paul 2012.
Ron Paul is a closet fascist and a moron
Yes, compared to the others who are pathetic clowns, he appears reasonable. Unfortunately, his positions are so radical and unrealistic, he is little more than a sideshow freak. Libertarianism looks attractive only until it is examined. It is more of a religion than a political philosophy.
Ron Paul is the only one on the stage with guts enough to tell the truth, to state the facts, to offer the real solutions, the only one with true integrity. To call him a closet fascist and a moron reflects your ignorance and hatred for the truth.
Paul seems like the only candidate with an intelligent response to his questions.. No bashing others candidates. He just answers his questions. Probably the only one who truly understands the economy. Romney just seems to chose whatever position the audience would like to hear at the time.. Romney is the most inconstant one of them all, and this is coming from somebody form Massachusetts..
"Intelligent people who support Ron Paul appear crazy to ignorant, uninformed, or stupid people." Thomas Jefferson
Oh thank god for joel palmer, a genius the world has never and will never hear of. Fascism is an insult best reserved for neo-cons like bush that brought us into wars like Iraq that bankrupted our nation. Fascism is an insult best leveled at a politician like Obama who has been the biggest anti-civil liberty president in American history. I suppose you feel happy about the patriot act joey, but most Americans realized Obama’s true colors when he extended that unconstitutional piece of garbage then appointed, Paulson, Geithner, and Bernanke to run our nations money. He put the foxes in charge of the henhouse. But I guess a genius like you already knew that stuff.
I'll go ya one better! Ron Paul is a "closet fascist and a moron", and a documented racist!
That said, how low can "republican" Americans sink!? Herman Cain's celebrated quote and reaction: "The American people deserve better than someone being tried in the court of public opinion based on unfounded accusations," Cain said to wild cheers in the early moments of the debate.
Yes Herman is correct; the American people DO deserve better...! I find Mr. Cain disgusting but not mostly for what you'd guess! Oh sure he's disgusting for almost certainly disrespecting, sexually abusing, and using his power to force women to do things totally against their wishes....and yes it's disgusting to me and outrageous that people would cheer when he imparts that the 'country's problems make what he did less meaningful!? Really?
And it also makes me feel a little sick that now FOUR women would come out and incriminate a man years later IF it weren't true- because of course they would NOT- especially in light of the FACT that Herman already admitted on day two that his company did pay-off a woman for an "alleged sexual harassment charge" that he hoped wouldn't have been to much money...blah, blah...and it does make me sick that he blamed first the Perry campaign, then the White House and now Gloria Allred for his troubles w/ women!
Yet none of these are what really are the issue for me as to why the idea of a Cain Presidency is a disgusting idea- and that reason (not discussed at all yet) is that if it turns out *(Which it will) that this isn't some cooked-up, conspiracy to stop a pizza magnate w/ a flair for stupid sayings and that these women PROVE that they're telling the truth (and BTW, he already ADMITTED they paid a woman to quiet her!!) then Herman Cain, on top of being a sexually infantile bully is also a proven and the worst kind of LIAR!
Yet, "republicans" continue to mail in the dollars and "cheer wildly" for this scumbag. Yea "republican Americans"...yea!
Ron Paul does tell the truth about the state of the country. Anyone who disagrees with that is actually in denial and is probably a closet pedophile like the disgraced coach from Penn State.
Yes, the voters should be able to think critically, count to ten, and know who Thomas Jefferson was? Many cool Americans can't do that. Sad, but true. Obama's counting on the cool vote.
the men that really run this country would hate to see Ron Paul win would be the end of them and their lobbyist
It is unfortunate Ron Paul does not have a stage presence. What he does is standard procedure in this country, which is to take a radical position far away from the compromise positions he would be happy with, because the opposition takes equally radical positions. The Libertarian principles are ideals, originally held by the radical (and revolutionary, remember) Founding Fathers. Reality is that the majority of Americans embrace more 'Socialist' ideals and expect more involvement by Government. To elect Ron Paul would be to desire a move from our current position towards more Liberty, Freedom, and Personal Responsibility. Less Government. No-one could expect to end up in the radical Libertarian Utopia, only further away from the current state of affairs - which is unsustainable and will lead inevitably to social unrest, anarchy, and class warfare.
You have an excellent point. When you really think about it, Ron Paul is the only candidate that touts adhering to our U.S. Constitution. For this he is considered an 'Extremist'. Go figure......
If voters have the ability to think clearly and CRITICALLY then Ron Paul would be not only the clear choice, but in fact the ONLY choice.
If the viewer cannot see through the thin veil of the other puppets on the stage they are in denial. Just like those that want to bash the Occupy movement. Opinions born from "willful ignorance"
Educate yourself. Is Ron Pauls message radical? Hell yes it is, and that is EXACTLY what we need. Vote for ANYONE else in this race and you are voting for more of the same, and we can see how wonderfully well that works. Ron Paul will work to dismantle the Military Industrial Complex to a manageable level that actually SERVES the citizens instead of the other way around.
Wake up you fools!
In the poll..wheres the choice "none of the above" or President Obama ?
Johnoh1,
Please go read the COH, I am sure there are other sites you can act like a juvenile delinquent.
A pack of liars, idiots, and clowns. Obama and his team must be laughing.
Johnon1,
Even trolls are required to follow the COH.
You keep attacking him for saying stuff...but in this one he did not violate the COH at all. Is using the word stupid against the rules? The context isn't a violation at all. Thanks for being the rules lawyer though.
Christopher,
Thanks for being the trolls advocates, they need people like you sticking up for them. Go look at how many times he has called people stupid, retarded and all those other nice names trolls like to use.
Thanks for being the trolls defense lawyer.
I actually felt sorry for Rick Perry, but I would really be sorry if he was are next president.
Ron Paul is not a Liar:
He has a 25+ year track record of complete accountablility.
He is not an idiot:
He has more intelligence in his pinky than the entire democratic party as he has used his understanding of Austiran Economics to predict all the crap we are going through 8 years ago!
He is not a clown:
He is the only person on the GOP stage with a legitament plan and the understanding to make it work.
He will utterly rape Obama in a debate. And I will 'lol' at ANYONE who Ron Paul picks as VP going up against Biden...haha. Feel bad for the man already.
I agree. Ron Paul knows what needs to be done to turn this country around. Unfortunately, voters don't want to hear "doom and gloom". That is why we have a poser in the White House now. He preached "hope and change". We certainly received change..... but it wasn't what we were hoping for.
Aww how cute. If you think Ron Paul is an answer you're as insane as he is. Paul is a bigot. Research Obama's accomplishments.
And, NO, Paul would in no way close Rape Obama in a debate. Obama is a first rate speaker and is highly intelligent. Ron Paul has let his own ego turn him into a blathering idiot. Did you watch the debate?
Austrian economics is a joke. The last 10 years have proven that you cannot get out of the economy's way completely.
Just because he is different doesn't make him right.
@Jamaal: If you are going throw the race card out will-nilly you had better be able to back it up. YOU CAN CAN'T YOU? YOU DO HAVE SOURCES SHOWING THAT PAUL IS A BIGOT--RIGHT?
The funniest bunch o' tards since the Three Stooges costarred with the Marx Brothers and Abbott and Costello
So could you please add something intelligent to the conversation that shows you have a brain?
Actually, that was a lucid and crystalline point. The current GOP candidates are a serious insult to the intelligence of the American public. I like the way he said it however.
Johnoh1 banned, second appearance on the site, spent it calling fellow Viners 'stupid' or 'dumb' or 'retarded'.
Not one of these clowns has the wisdom or stature of Dan Quayle
Ron Paul, just like alim said, its just him and the issues and the answers to the questions.
Herman Cain proved tonight that he, like the rest of his gop competitors can look the American people right in the eye... and lie his ass off
Yeah, just like Bill Clinton did about ALL of his Bimbo Eruptions. Just think, it was Bill Clinton that lowered the bar for ethical standards in the Oval Office. Do you realize that when his Paula Jones (?Jennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky, Tripp, et al) sex harrassment case went to court, Judge Webber ruled that since he did everything accused of, that was not sexual harrassment because he stopped when she asked him to stop trying to force himself on her. And do you realize that millions of high school kids today consider oral sex NOT SEX because our President of the United States, Bill Clinton pointed his finger at the camera and stated that he never had sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky. In his mind oral sex is not considered sex. These weren't just unproven allegations also. There was proof. Phone tapes, the infamous stained blue dress.
Renaus, I love how no democrat will touch this issue they just think they can keep brushing it off and throwing Cain under the bus. All they know how to do is point the finger at everyone else and still blame a president that's been out of office for three years, instead of realizing they elected a president on "change" and things have only changed for the worst. Barrack Hussein Obama said himself that "if things haven't gotten better after three years, he will be a one term president." I just hope he's right about that one thing.
No matter how hard you stubborn conservatives spit that tripe, you will NEVER downplay the fact that Bush's trickle down economics and Cheney's cronyism wrecked this country into a ditch!!
Three years is no where NEAR enough time to turn around the structural damage that was done by that administration. It is a completely VALID point to make to say that Bush is at fault BECAUSE HE WAS! Obama has tried to repeal the tax cuts for the rich that caused this mess but Boehner won't have it.
Now the GOP is offering a paltry 300B in revenue? What a joke. Bush's tax cuts and wars cost (and are still costing) 10 times that. At least. I mean what idiot cuts taxes for the rich during TWO wars? Worst president ever!! Period.
renaus,
we already know Clinton was a great leader.
and while i regret that President Clinton made it so easy for the republicans to bring him down, i am sure that his "affair" with lewinski is one that he wanted to keep private.
it was the republican party, led by the partisan hypocritical newt gingrich that wanted to bring every blow-by-blow out into the public. they impeached President Clinton, holding him to a higher standard than themselves, for lying about a blow-job. they hated him which is why they used no discretion in the types of things they brought out about this personal affair (hence the cigar and "oral sex").
the republican party hates President Obama just as much, and that is why they are refusing to do anything to move this country forward. they hate him so much that they don't care that the american people can see exactly what they are doing. they are unembarassable, and they have no shame.
thats right. Blame President Clinton for the fact that kids today cannot discern between real sex and oral sex. blame Clinton for the fact that the oval office is now the "den of iniquity".
so i guess we can blame the republican party for being hypocritical; doing the same things as President Clinton was doing. putting themselves on a higher plane, all they thought about was bringing Clinton down, not about the fact that they were doing the VERY same things.
thank god larry flynt "tattled" on a republican, bob livingston, who was having his own affair, that they hoped would become the next speaker of the house, and he resigned. he had more information about other republicans trying to bring down the president, but unlike the republicans, he didn't tell everything he knew.
the republicans seem to think they can do anything they want, as long as the end result is bringing a democratic President down.
will they EVER learn?
Jamaal -
You are correct in the initial argument of stating that Bush and Cheney did not do a great job for America in many areas, especially the economy-mainly the last two years of Bush's presidency the deficit began to multiply itself at a more rapid pace than any of the previous 6 years of his presidency. However, this country's economy has started on a downward trend since the early twentieth century, and then really started on its irreversible spending spree in the late 1920's to early 1930's. Because of WWII, the reality of that fact was unseen-masked by a booming economy that was because of that war. After 1963-64, the pink cloud economy from war time was no longer a veil to the truth. However, instead of being proactive then-all of our government, in complete unison, and with full agreement from the entire public as shown by their votes to all members of these parties, even after blatant misuse and mismanagement of the entire financial capital of the country. Due to their and our lack of foresight, and our denial of the truth that we can go broke, we can lose the country that so many great men and women have selflessly died to build, then to protect. To sacrifice their blood as a mortar for the bricks of a great republic. We dishonored them by taking all of what is around us here for-granted, and we shame them by our lack of stewardship of the possessions & monies that were attained at a very large price. We ALL share responsibility in this. By supporting the domestic policies, social programs or areas of entitlement, and foreign policies of any and all of the political parties in Washington since that time and even reaching back further than that-none of us are innocent of having nothing to do with this country's present condition.
Choosing to do the right thing always has a heavy price! Every good thing in, or about this country came about by intense, unimaginable suffering. Why do we so quickly forget this? Saving this country from its coming demise is going to take sacrifice and pain. Are you willing to lose your comforts, possibly much of what you've become used to having, etc. in order to preserve what by God's grace alone we have? It is not a question to answer casually. I myself, if I am truly honest with myself, am not sure I am willing or wanting to make this sacrifice. But that's whats it gonna take to do it. We can all sit lazily and watch our country crumble by wasting time lying to ourselves about wanting a change without being willing to give up what it will take to do that. Not one candidate or current government official is proposing to do anything close to what needs to be done, regardless of what political party they subscribe to. We can let ourselves become a statistic, a relic of history, another great empire and republic that faded away and died. We will be apart of the history books for future generations as a true tragedy of humankind. Don't kid yourselves, this isn't some far off extremist prediction, this is what is happening right now. The peoples of Rome, Old Egypt, Macedonia, Greece, Persia, and many others also denied the truth of their dilemmas and all that is left of the worlds they knew and loved are now old stones and dust. 15 trillion 'dollars' is a real number, describing a real debt, that will bring a real death if something drastic is not done. We can follow suit of previous "indestructible" empires & lie to ourselves all the way to the slaughter house. If you choose that path then fence off your home or property, store up what little you have, obtain any means to protect yourselves and your families and be ready to defend your livelihood from the those that would be wolves- waiting at the edge of the forest waiting to plunder all we have here. I am a vet of Afghanistan and Iraq & I will tell you that all the world looks here in envy. They covet all we have & the lavish luxurious way of life you are currently living in. Do not be naive and ignorant in thinking that people are 'good' and not evil. I have seen things that some of you will ever know or understand until it comes to your doorstep. There is no universal, 'global' moral code held by all. The thought & premise that - societies of the world are so much more 'aware and educated' than from the past, and that war, violence, deviance, & taking what you don't have from those that do, is all barbaric archaism and will not happen anymore is an absolute lie. There is nothing stopping any that may from taking all from us except the knowledge of America's strength and reputation from recent history. If this strength is compromised to any degree that would deem it vulnerable or even perceived to be vulnerable, the consequences will be disastrous for you and me, republican, democrat, whatever and whomever! Do not let this nation and government fail! Please! Stop voting for the continuance of how the country is being run currently, and stand up for what needs to be done.
Rangers lead the way
Jamaal,
So, I guess if Obama was a one-term president, you'd say he was a great president cause none of the crap that the economy is in was his fault??? Bottom line, just as I said in the previous post, no democrat can take responsibility for anything. If something is wrong let's just point the finger at everyone else. I think you need to take a look at Singapore's economy...like how many people are on welfare...how many people get bailouts...and handouts from the government.
They're all toast. Why isn't threre a Republican nominee that I would vote for?
You should be removed for your Mormon comment. Such bigotry is unwarranted.
I think he means people don't like Romney because he is mormon, otherwise, Romnay will have way more supports
I don't like Romney because he can't pick a side and stick with it. He spouts off about something then less the 24 hours later he is on the opposite side of the thing he just spouted off about. I even watched him do it during the debate last night (it is now early morning and I have a child in my lap I am trying to get to go back to sleep). My dislike of Romney has absolutely nothing to do with his religion. I could care less what god someone worships, I care if they have conviction and willingness to follow through with what they say.
The only one I have seen do that consistently with his voting record is Ron Paul. Of course we can't have him because he actually follows that darn piece of paper that the government is supposed to follow and enforce. Darn constitution getting in the way of things.
My first choice is Ron Paul. Romney did say one thing that was dead on. The government of China is nothing but cheaters.
Well probably because you have a clue and a set of values that doesn't support a party that does not GIVE A F@#$ about you at all.
My personal take on Romney and the Seven Dwarves...
Jon Huntsman thought nothing was fin-a,
Being Obama's bigwig in China,
'Til the day that the slob
Wanted Obama's job;
Now, he's turned into his biggest whin-a!
Herman Cain figured blondes were so fine,
He felt every blonde was worth tryin';
Until each one said "nope"
To a BJ and grope;
Now, he's de-Nine, de-Nine, de-Nine...
Michelle Bachmann professes to pray
And ask for God's guidance each day;
If she spends so much time
In the Presence Sublime,
Why'd she marry a guy who's so Gay?
Rick Perry took Bush as his guide.
He'd follow his example with pride.
He would fill all the shoes
Of this guy who can't lose;
Shame he copied the idiot inside.
Mitt Romney thought chances were fair
His supporters would carry him there
To replacing the 'louse'
He saw in the White House;
Didn't think he would fight Romney-care..
Newt Gingrich believes he's superior;
All his candidate foes are inferior.
There is no mystery,
He'd rewrite history.
'Cept his ego's out-stripped his interior.
Ron Paul wants his government shrinking
To the size where you'd miss it while blinking.
If he don't want to feed it,
Why's he wanting to lead it?
Tell me, what in the world is he thinking?
Rick Santorum desires the fame,
Bringing lovers down to pits of shame.
He would spend all his time
Making sodomy a crime.
Why'm I skittish to Google his name?
david,
very good take on mitt and the seven dwarfs.
VERY GOOD!
I can't understand how Republicans do not find the possibility of sexual harassment by Cain a big block to his nomination. As a Democrat, I hope that he is the Republican candidate for president as the majority of women will not vote for him.
The mostly Republican audiences at these debates have now booed a veteran of our armed forces, cheered death sentences carried out, and now applauded sexual harassment. If that isn't the definition of stupid and bigoted, what is?
Once the accusers of Cain reached more than two, I was sold. And unlike many posters, I comprehend the legal restrictions of a non-disclosure clause.
Lots of MEN won't vote for him either. I thought he was a fine candidate before these credible allegations surfaced. But I found this kind of behaviour totally unacceptable in Bill Clinton, and I find it just as unacceptable in anyone else. It goes to character, and I think we do have a right to expect a person of good character in high elected office.
PJ RN
So now all it takes is three people accusing someone of something for it to be true? I guess that makes Barrack an immigrant, right? Because there was a lot more than three that brought up that issue forever ago, but I know I know he's a democrat so he has a free pass...especially on this site.
The allegations against Cain are now not looking credible. Associated Press reported one is in big financial trouble and lives in the same building with Axlerod and the other has filed sexual harassment on another person beside cain that was most would say was very questionable or not at all, and she works for the Obama Admininstration. I think credibility is coming to light and it is not the women who are credible.
Can they maybe recruit "Condoleeza Rice"? Anyone, anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Sheesh - my cat can do better than these Bozo imitators! Cain should change his name to Cain't! Perry is Palin in a Men's Wherehouse sale rack suit! The others hand the combined IQ of a box of rocks!
To those of you who are praising Obama, you evidently read only what is printed about the republicans. Your man Obama is leading this country into destruction and a muslim nation. You won't admit this man is wasting our money, covering up for illegals to have a free berth on his gravy train, which his money comes from the people of the U.S.A. I can't understand how he got into office anyway. Have any of you read what one of the navy seals wrote about this guy? He is the same guy that called our military whiners, who took credit for what the seals did and for Ben Laden, while he was safe and secure having another vacation, or hiding his illegal relatives. Who in the world got the uncle out of jail? Are you going to blame the Americans for that too.? Do you ever read anything except something you think you can blast the republicans for. Tell me are you perhaps on Obamas' bankroll. Something is sure out of focus here. And you are not good representitaves for the good democrats in government. I am glad I haven't eaten breakfast yet. Your quotes make me sick at my stomach. Just get lost.
Wow are you a misguided simpleton! The seals carried out an executive order dummy! So some Seals dont like Obama. So what. He is no where NEAR taking us to a Muslim Nation. There is a list of valid quotes by Thomas Paine, Tomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin about how ridiculous religion is. It serves only to divide and should not be entered into a discussion about our government; despite what the tea party falsely believes. There was no "in god we trust" until the 20th century.
Obama got into office by the educated voter of this country who was sick of Supply Side Economics sending our debt out of control and us fighting illegal wars and pandering only to the corporate elite. Wake up! Can't you see what is happening all around the country? Is you blind devotion to god and country keeping you from the fact that the GOP supports these corporations and the way they are ripping off the American worker?
I read plenty of Right Winged books, websites and blogs. So I am not reading only leftist propaganda as you think. We praise Obama because he actually has done plenty of good and is taking us in a direction that we approve! YOu don't approve so you think he is crap. Fair enough. But do not insult our intelligence (and democrats have higher IQs its a fact) with your rhetoric.
And calling humans illegals is representative of the bad side of your party. The side that is intolerant, ignorant and racist. Now F@#$ off!
There should be an option for Barack Obama as the winner of the debate, because the more these @!$%#tards talk, the better he's looking to me.
Excuse me, Mr. Censor....I meant to type f.u.c.k.t.a.r.d.s.
Johnoh1,do your mother know that you are playing on the computer?.
John,
He is just a troll and his account will be deleted and then he will start a new one and do it all over again. The ignore button is nice but you never know when one of these guys might write something worth reading. Now I am the idiot for saying that.
Johnoh1,
Someone who makes comments like these is a troll.
4.2 "you're stupid"
6.1 "Are you retarded? I thought so.."
7.1 "Too bad you're dumb, so no one cares"
13.2 "you're stupid"
Perry cracks the hell out of me!.. I hate all of these GOP candidates, especially Herman Cain. It would've been much more ethical for him to confess to the sexual harassment scandals. He definitely aint gonna get my vote! Obama all the way!
Gena,
So you're honestly claiming if he would have came out and said yeah I did it i'm guilty...now back to my 999 plan, you would have picked him over Obama???
That's the best post i've read all day.
Obama all the way to bankruptcy. Google the CRA Lawsuit and see who created the financial meltdown. Democrats claim it was lax regulations but it was a lawsuit in 1994 that forced banks into making crappy loans. This all started in 1994 & 95. It just exploded in 2008. Also why did the democrats block stricter regulations between 2001 to 2008? Figure that out.
You know GOP and Koch greed caused it. Stop grasping.
Why isn't Obama on the list?
Every time these clowns get onstage is free campaigning for the one person who's sadly the only reasonable presidential candidate left in America.
He doesn't need to as long as his competition continues to roll out the crazy parade in front of their Tea Party overlords on national television.
It's going to be a pathetic sight when the eventual "nominee" gets a face full of reality in the general election and gets their talking points stomped on by the only candidate willing to recognize undeniable facts of our economic system that so far haven't seen the light of day in the republican debates.
Obama has done many things. He just not one that needs to brag. Check your facts. Oh, and by the way...your stupid, Johnoh1.
The biggest thing he hasnt done that excludes him from being on this list is switch to republican and run for there nomination. Paint chips.... dont eat those.
Ok then.
This was the best debate so far--& I've watched them all--The candidates all help each other grow toward the goal of being able to take on Obama in the general election. The difference for me though goes back to previous debates where Romney, Cain & Bachmann have stronger positions for middle class working Americans (--They support E-Verify), rather than the Amnesty (& NO E-Verify) that would be given by Gingrich (who previously voted for amnesty), Santorum, Huntsman, Perry and Ron Paul. How can Americans raise kids, if they can't honestly tell them that if they study hard and play by the rules, they have a better chance of being rewarded for their effort. Too many American citizens (26 million) want 10 million jobs currently held by illegal aliens--who also undercut wages of ALL working American Citizens. Romney has finally figured out how the whole American System (after all his trial & error mistakes) is supposed to work.
PJ, I think if you go back a few weeks and look at the debates you'll find Gingrich is the only one that initially stood out from the pack with actual ideas. I particularly note the "debate" that he had with Cain just a few weeks ago. I think years ago when he was House Speaker he did vote for amnesty but after 15 or so years of being in the 'wilderness', he has changed his thinking. I watched and listened to his speech to the Heritage Foundation and I think he had some excellent ideas on how to "E-verify" through contracting out to private sector corporations like Visa and Master Card for their expertise on stopping fraud. Please go back a look at his talks. I'm not saying vote for him, I'm saying give him a second look. He might be a great VP on the ticket. What's going against him is his past character flaws (marriages, etc).
Renaus: I served Ronald Reagan for 8 years (Special Assistant in Policy Development & Research) and at the Republican National Committee under the Co-chairs' Office (Mary Matalin was one of my bosses most of that time) as Dept. Research Director for 6 1/2 years. I helped Newt Gingrich get elected to Congress after he failed twice before. I worked physically next to to his second wife, Marianne, over 2 years--I know Newt Gingrich backward & forward. I have gone to Heritage since 1980. I will not vote for Gingrich unless he is the strongest person on the stage for E-verify, and promises to fully implement it within 2 hours after his inauguration, & before Obama's plane leaves Andrews Air Force Base. -- P.J. Kirk
So you're to blame.
The way things are going, the Mayan prediction of it all coming to a head on 12/21/2012 is looking more realistic with every debate and world headline. LOL (I think?)
Agree with you 200%
the sky is falling or is that just the stock market ?
noiwontyesiwill:
As I recall the bible tells us, Jesus was asked when the world would end. Now Jesus was and still is the PERFECT Man, born without sin, and therefore infallible. Jesus said, as I recall reading in the bible, that NO ONE KNOWS, not even HE (Jesus), when the world will end. ONLY our FATHER IN HEAVEN knows. So I don't think the Mayans, ...Nostradamus, ...my Mom, ...my history professor from school or anyone else knows when the world is going to end. I do know you were just joking. On a more serious note, I was watching National Geo a few months ago and this scientist said that in all probability that is as far as the Mayans got in their predictions based on the stars..... I tend to think this is the more plausible explanation. :-)
Perry cracks the hell out of me! he's pretty entertaining.. Now, herman Cain is just a pathetic liar.. Everyone knows he sexually harassed those ladies; he should've just avoided all this speculation by confessing beforehand. What a loser.. He's definitely not getting my vote. In fact, none of these republicans are, I'm not gonna even vote. Obviously, humans don't know how to run a nation, they can't even run themselves. i'm just gonna sit back and wait for this ever-worsening system to unravel.
Herman Cain is getting charges from years ago without any proof or police reports. Why does this even mean anything at all, after all Bill Clinton's accuser actually had proof, a semen covered dress and the democrats think that is OK.
Wild Bill is not running...Cain is. I think it shows how the extreme rt sees women.
Concerned Citizen
Well let’s see now One women, Two Women, Three women, Four women and how many others? I suppose they are all ling right? I see a pattern hear of sexual harassment and with Bill the sex was consensual between adults NOT unwanted harassment by the Sex Pervert Pizza Boy Herman Pepperoni Cain
Witchking
Consensual sex? And yet he still had to pay out 850,000 to Paula Jones???? Which is a whole lot more than the "severance" pay Cain's accuser got. But they were adults......right.
Witchking...
Whenever Cain delivered his pizzas, he'd ask, "You want sausage on that, ma'am?"
The Clown Circus continues
With the Sex Pervert Pizza Boy Herman Pepperoni Cain, the blithering Rick Not So Slick Perry, the psycho Bachmann, the has-been Newt, The constant loser Ron Paul, Mitt Flip Flop Romney and why even bother mentioning the rest.
This country is finished if one of these pathetic losers even gets the nomination The US will be the laughing stock of the world.
What have you been watching? "The constant loser" Ronpaul has only been the "constant loser" in the eyes of the msm. You won't hear about him much because he has real solutions to our problems, like audit the fed and ACTUALLY cut spending. Not these catchy gimmicks like 999 or "I've been in business" to any question thrown their way. Nobody offers any real change or solutions other then Ron Paul in my eyes..
Who would you like leading our country then good sir?
Ron Paul is the only guy up there that speaks honestly and from the heart.. and the only one with Economic Credibility... warned about the monetary and fiscal policies of this country and how it would lead to a disaster.. and he was proven right. He is now warning again of a currency collapse due to this incredible debt and money printing by central banks... especially The Fed. This is REALITY! We must elect someone who KNOWS what the hell is going on.. and can fix it! RP 2012
Many of Ron Paul's ideas are so far out in left field as to be OUT of the Ball park. Been in Congress for years and never a leader to notice. Cain revealed that he really would have to have many others explaining, too, many things. He didn't have a clue about Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae and how they are connected to the Fed. Scarey! He hasn't created jobs in any previous experience.
You are very right that if we don't elect someone who KNOWS what the hell is going on we will be SOL. The CEO of Caterpillar went to Texas for a new plant and new jobs....Rick might not be silver tongued in Debates, but look at how well Texas has done, is doing in this dreadful -economic- catastrophic condition the rest of the country is in... It's not so much what they say, as What have you done? And Perry has done the deal and that speaks volumes. Romney, Gingrich have done the deal.... Obama so lied to us that believing just because they say so is NO LONGER REASONABLE. Have you done the deal? Successfully?
There is an old saying, "never say never".
The 'contant loser Ron Paul'? Uh oh. Looks like someone pays too much attention to the media and doesn't actually do any research. Ron Paul is the only one telling the Truth.
Which is the complete opposite to what Obama spews out everytime he speaks. Obama's only chance is that if he is finally able to win his 'war on guns', silence people's freedom of speech and then he can do what he's been trying to do ALL ALONG. Become the US dictator. Is Obama purposefully trying to bring down the dollar or are he and his handlers just complete idiots?
Ron Paul's support is huge and growing more everyday and there is still a year for it to grow. He will wreck the republican party and build it up properly. Then he will rebuild the nation. Obama's got nothing on this man. He has 0 integrity. He will say anything and everything you want to hear and follow up on none of it. He is only bringing troops home because he has to and making it look like he is FINALLY honoring a campaign promise. Also, he has broken EVERY campaign promise he made. Do you homework before coming up against intelligent Ron Paul supporters.
Obama has already made us the laughing stock of the world.
Not will be the laughing stock, we have been and still are for the last 3 years. While we have people living in tents, on the streets, and children going hungry while Obama Reid , Peloise are living high on those they helped get fast loans then faced babkruptcy. And if you will remember when Clinton left office the economy had already strted to slide. You people protect those who have many questions to answer . This bunch blames Bush for everthing he had done, which I agree he made some big mistakes also, but the economy had started to grow when he left office. I wish the people in this country would admit the wrongs the party they back make. It's a two way street which stops when their party does anything wrong. Your Obama has pulled us so far down that people no longer have any part of a decent life. I can't understand your protecting Obama. There is something more to your quotes than just saying you truly care how this country is run and if someday we face what other countries are going through with their crazy leaders, remember you may have had a lot to do with it.
Your understanding of the economic past of this country is completely whacked! It was not starting to slide under Clinton at all. The only thing Clinton may have done to start this mess was repealing Glass-Steagall and Newt has recently taken the blame for that. And well he should, he was instrumental. Obama has NOT pulled us down. Look at some Congressional Budget Office numbers before you speak with your emotions. Bush is to blame and his boys in Congress are blocking any real chance of recovery with their "no taxes" rhetoric Bull@#$%!
The economy was not growing when bush left office, it was in a free fall and Obama stopped it.
Witchking:
OK. So the bottom line is one of the GOP "clowns" WILL be nominated on the Republican ticket. The rest of the world may laugh, I really don't care....and 99.9% of the conservatives think the same way I do.
I tell people this...I have absolutely no control over what happened with the Clinton presidency, Bush presidency or Obama presidency. There is no emotion involved. I can easily sit and have a beer with Clinton or Obama or Bush and laugh it up with the best of em. I'm sure they are the most entertaining individuals I would ever meet. They are extremely charming people, how do you think they became POTUS?
The only thing I can do is educate myself about the people running for office, research their past and try to determine if they hold the same principles and values that I hold (for the most part). I then determine who to support with my monetary campaign contributions. Whichever candidate will reduce the size of the federal goverment, follow the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and restore legislative power back to the states will be given extra consideration.
The majority of the U.S. population says that we're moving in the wrong direction. That's Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Green Party....everyone..
Vote for the person that holds the same values, principles and ideals you have. NO EMOTION........cut and dried...then go about your business the next day as usual..........May God bless whoever it is that gets elected as POTUS.
PS...I've always wanted to let everyone know on one of these blogs that CLINTON was impeached for PERJURY. CLINTON LIED UNDER OATH. The very same offense that would send any one of us to jail for a few years. The Senate let him off. It wasn't about being impeached for getting oral sex in the Oval Office.................that is not an impeachable offense. Perjury is.....
